As someone who switched from always Pixel to S23 Ultra, i really do miss the Pixel camera. The shutter is much faster, the blurred pictures are maddening. I love my s23 Ultra as i haven't had any bugs or issues which plagued my Pixel experience. Hope in the near future both can up their foldables with better cameras and i'd love to grab one of them.

Yeah, these camera comparisons from "reviews" such as this are trash. Samsung has slow shutter and shutter lag to boot - I agree that Pixel lifts up the night shots too much though. Also no word on battery life, efficiency out of wi-fi. No word about the overall software experience, polish, smart features, bloat, and so on.

@@MakanGanGo into camera settings (S23 Ultra) and select Advanced Intelligence Options. Now select which level of Quality Optimization you want. It is on Maximum by default. Selecting Medium will speed up picture capture time at the expense of Optimization. Selecting Minimum takes pictures as fast as possible by not optimizing them when they are taken.
Adding to this, you can also go into Camera Assistant in Settings, and you can select Quick Tap Shutter to take an image the instant your finger touches the shutter button, not when you release the shutter button as by default. Below Quick Tap Shutter selection is the Prioritize Focus over Speed toggle which is on by default. I toggle this off to stop the camera spending as much time focusing at the expense of shutter speed.
When you are in Camera Assistant I would also recommend setting Picture Softening to Medium to stop all that oversharpened looking rubbish Samsung gives by default.
The S23 Ultra has a fantastic camera system when you take control of it, but Samsung's default settings on it are very poor.

I'm currently rocking both, the pixel 8 pro has the better camera sometimes, sometimes to close and not sure where your getting the shutter lag from, my issue with the s23 ultra camera is oversharpening and how it processes the colour green

Both are great. Depends entirely on your different needs. I dont understand the competition between devices ( fans have created the competition) be nice if Samsung reduced their bloatware a tad. The last time i had a Samsung i had 2 of everything ( some apps) which was somewhat confusing

bloatware and image processing - i own a s23u, the pictures dont look natural, unless you can tingle witht the pro cam settings. other than tha:
P8P - better natural photos, cheaper...
S23U - better speakers, screen and battery life = 3 most important things in a phone + has Spen, better zoom, stronger CPU/GPU for gaming...
But the p8p is cheaper, in some countries. In my country, all 256 vs 512gb version cost the same. so I took the s23u, cause of battery and speakers mostly.

S23 Ultra is just 2023 smartphone 👑. Flat and bright display are good improvements from last years for Pixel. Photography is still a great reason to buy Pixel but Performance, Battery Life, OneUi features, S-Pen ... have more value than Google AI. Also, it would be fair that Tech reviewers adress that Google features are not available the same way outside of USA. I won't pay for a smartphone which is not complete neither. Those Pixel are beta version for Google, waiting 2025 for this new Tensor with TSMC.

Thank you for a great video. I have gone through phases of brand loyalty with android phones forever. I have had more Samsung devices in the grand scheme by far, but I haven't had one since the Note 7. Yeah I know, that was forever ago. I really liked the S pen when that feature came out. I swithced over to OnePlus and started with the 6T pro when it hit the market. I loved the fact that there wasn't much bloatware with their phones. I was loyal to them until the Pixel 7 Pro hit the market, and that's what I have been using for the last year. I just got a Pixel 8 Pro, I haven't even unboxed it yet but I will as soon as the screen protector and case (Mous) gets here. I do agree that if something costs more, it should be better than the item it competes against, I don't think the Samsung is that much better for the price difference though.

Pixel is ok , but in some ways its still behind other flagships in software , take away all the gimmicky crap , and it is just another phone , even some of its hardware is very yesterday , like the annoying finger print sensor that works when it wants to , or the very hit miss Face ID , however , it is reasonably snappy most of the time , although photo processing can be slow as hell at times .
would I buy one again ? I have mixed feelings.

behind other flagships in software, what do you mean? Pixels get the latest Android software updates first before any other Android phone along with all the new Android features. Are you aware that Google which makes Pixel also makes Android? The fingerprint sensor works fine maybe not as fast but you also get to use Face Unlock to sign in and authentication on bank apps a step better than any Android phone. I'd pick the Pixel 8 Pro phone for snapping photos over everything else, any day. And the new coming Feature Drop in December we will be getting Video Boost, another game changer in mobile videography going forward. @@mikldude9376
