Jabari is an excellent rebounder, a good defender and a fierce competitor. He is the type of low-key, underrated player that just leads to wins. I think he is a great compliment to Sengun and when he gets that turn-around fade-away a little more refined......forget about it.
And Smith is just getting started.
You do know Sengun crippled Bari' game? But when Sengun went out, Bari found his game again and played alot better when Sengun isn't occupying his spots.
And its like that with the whole core. Sengun is the problem and holds everyone back including the offense. Its high-time we trade Sengun and get a defensive big that can hit 3s.

I hear you, but we still need that shooting, especially from a player that shot 50% from 3 in college. I really can’t see us passing on a player like this. If we do, we’re going to regret it. Just pick Reed Shepard.

I would go for FIT, Dillingham & Jalen Green is a bit questionable. And there's Whitmore. Sheppard fits with either Amen or Jalen even Cam..
No...FVV will run with Green. Dillimgham will be the bck up and run the 2nd unit with Cam.
That duo (Cam/Dillingham) is instant offense. We dont need Reed when we got Cam.
Ranking dont meam sht. When the Rockets are up to pick, they will be thinking about "Shooting and Spacing."
So that narrows their list to pure shooters. It will be between Dillingham and Reed.
And Dillingham is a no-brainer.

Thats where u wrong. Dillingham on the Rockets, will play PG. Cam is Green' back up. Rob will be FVV bck-up or play the role of Aaron Holiday.
@@judarod1 lol. How many balls do you have? Dillingham is a score first guard more than anything, a ball dominant scorer. Do you think that will blend well with Jalen who needs the ball to produce? He already struggled with sharing duties with FVV. Cam is also instant offense off that bench. Amen didn't even had enough reps as a PG his rookie year. How many more do you need?
What you need is a shooter that can be effective off the ball and space the floor for Sengun, Jalen, Cam etc. - that can be a connective piece, can pass the ball. Guess who better fit that? Rob or Sheppard? Given their strengths and skillset, pretty obvious who fits better. Not a debate.. 😅
You said that no guard in this draft is good defensively but what about Stephon Castle? He’s a beast on defense.

Dude this love for Sengun is getting out of control. It's a reason why Sacredness didn't make the playoffs, it will be the same reason why the rockets lacks if they go down the Sacramento path. Sabonis like Sengun can't protect the rim, nor switch on defense, they both are dominant at getting downhill and passing on offense, but if you already have a Fox that can do the same thing plus GENERATE his own three then what is the point of having redundant skill-set. It's a reason why the Pacers chose Turner over Sabonis, what they needed Sabonis to do he couldn't do, what Sabonis does they can already get in a guard who once again can GENERATE his own three
Another note: The rockets will be crazy to Max out or even come close to maxing out Sengun, who will become unplayable in 2/3 playoff series
FACTS!
Sengun is NOT the best player on the team. In my opinion the BEST PLAYER on any team should be one that is not limited to any scheme, that has versatility in his game, and one that i do not have to look in the draft nor free agency to come behind and do what another player cant do. We dont question if philly needs a rim protector to play behind Embiid, we dont question if philly should bring in a stretch big to play behind Embiid. We have a team full of young athletic guards and wings, why are we trying to fit the mold of a Sengun type offense? We are watching and asking ourselves in real time watching these playoffs, Why is Gobert in the game taking up driving Space? Why Naz Reid is not in the game this way Ant Man can have SPACE to use his speed and quickness? But we dont ask those questions when it comes to Sengun. We dont ask these questions of how Sengun would fair in the playoffs guarding Luka/Kyrie/SGA, and other elite playmakers at the top of the key in isolation. OKC excels not because SGA is Special, he is special but because CHET HOLMGREN give him the SPACE to operate.
Rob Dillingham. We need fire power to keep up with the mavs.
I like your logic with Dillingham but he lacks mass and Udoka will require more defense than he can produce. I see a lot of intangible upside to Sheppard and a higher ceiling compared to Dillingham. I don't think I would draft a guy who won't come for an interview - I like Castle's upside but I'm now worried about his attitude. Even more reason to bring him in for an interview. You only draft Clingan if you have to have a center. The Rockets could use another big man but not Clingan. I don't like any of the options. Sheppard seems to be the best of several poor options.

You can get all that in Dillingham. You cant get all that in Reed. Dillingham is the smart choice.

Yeah Dillingham should be the pick if we the Rockets stick and pick at #3. I don’t understand your logic and saying Reed has a higher ceiling than Rob. Dillingham’s ceiling could be that of Trae Young, Maxey, Garland, or Kyrie all whom have been All-Stars. I think Reed is a great prospect and my 2nd choice, but his ceiling is just a starter level player imo. The Rockets main issue last year is they struggled to score the ball, especially when FVV left the court. Rob gives them another shooter, self creator, and playmaker off the bench that they desperately need. No other prospect in the draft gives us all 3.

Lief does good work but I disagree with his Dillingham vs Sheppard conclusions quite a bit, yes Reed might be targeted at the highest levels but he’ll probably translate into a solid to good regular season guy, and the difference of that with Dillinghams non defensive is several wins a year, meanwhile I just don’t see Dillingham actually passing well enough to be a real starting lead guard and one issue he might not be thinking through is that it might not be as much that Rob is the better on ball guy as the degree of how Sheppard is the better offball guy is just much wider

Dillingham was great on and off ball this season at Kentucky and was one of, if not the best passer on the team (9ast per 100/6.6ast per 40min) both higher than Reed. Plus he can shoot at a high level and create off the dribble, which Reed can’t. We know the Rockets struggled immensely in those areas offensively last season. Amen, Cam, Tari, and Adams all have enough size and defensive ability to match perfectly with Rob skill set imo. Btw Reed is my 2nd choice.

If you watch KU play this past year (full games are on UA-cam) you will see that reed shepherd was there point guard…rob was more of a two guard especially when they both subbed in off the bench…you will notice as you watch reed actually played more then Wagner (the starting point guard) because of his ability to play make and control the game…people get confused on what play making is…Yes I agree rob has better HANDLES and handles ball pressure better then reed but a playmaking floor general is the reason they keep the keep the ball in reeds hands so much..
I definitely don’t see reed being an intrusive player on the next level especially during summer league ball…But if his game translates from KU to the NBA he would be a great TRUE POINT if he develops the ability to handle heavy ball pressure and actually defend on ball … he was a much better OFF ball then on ball defender
Listen, in the NBA Reed isnt gonna be doing any of that sht as far as controlling the offense and all that. In the NBA, he will be a 2 and play like JJ Reddick. A 3 and D type or just spot-up shooting.
Dillingham.has way more upside to be a 3-level scorer than Reed, and a natural abillity to run point.
@@judarod1 reed isn’t gonna be a 3 & D player and fasho not no JJ redick … JJ play style in college translated to his nba game… Reed Overall game is to be a floor general and his shot is just a complement to his ability to run a offense…he won’t be a Jordan Hawkins JJ reddick or buddy held type player…His decision making makes him a top 10 prospect THIS DRAFT (weak) he ceiling isn’t higher then robs but it’s hard to compare the two when there literally two different players…Definitely not both Point Guards…

Best overall (all around) GUARD that you will see make the biggest impact from the start of summer league (because his game will translate) that will be drafted in the top 5 is Stephon castle … his game will translate perfect… If the rockets want the best available GUARD they should pick up castle

Good pod. Dillingham is too light in the caboose. he doesn't weigh 170 with 2 bricks in his pockets. he's going to get abused defensively. just doesn't seem like an Ime type of player to me. I'm starting to lean more on Castle as my prefered Rocket target if they use the pick. if he developes a shooting touch he will be the best player from this draft. he has size, quickness, an outstanding motor and good basketball IQ. any talk coming from prospects is just that ......talk. take it with a grain of salt. still highly likely the Rockets deal this pick for an established player or future draft capital
Between Dillingham and Castle, its a no-brainer to take Dillingham over Castle anyday of the week.
Castle is not a pure point. He's a 2. And has a bad build (extremely pigeon toe). And he cant shoot.
Stone already said for this offseason, he want to address Shooting and Spacing. Castle doesnt check the box on neither. Dillingham, does.
Dillingham; known for his scoring powers, show flashes of a pure point. His weight issues is a temporary problem. Its not like its an issue that cannot be fix like it is with Castle being pigion-toe.
Dillingham can add weight and we dont want him to be too heavy. He can build up to 185 to 190 and tgat would be a solid PG for us.
@@judarod1 Castle has the one thing you can't teach........size. Castle is already a good defender...something that Dillingham will never be able to do. Castle has very good basketball IQ and I think we can groom him at PG. YES we must address shooting, but who said we must do that in the draft.

We already got a useless guy like Castle and his name is Amen Thompson. Another non-shooter billed as a PG but doesnt do anything to make anyone better.
We do not need to start adding all.these non-shooters. Thats why we cant get ahead. We need Shooters.

@@judarod1 if you think Amen is useless you haven't been watching the Rockets. that's the most outragous comment I have read on any Rocket board this year. I don't even have words for that one. as for shooting we should trade for it or sign a FA. we should not rely on a ROOKIE to fix that for us. we need a player with a proven track record of NBA shooting. Dillingham does not address enough issues to compensate for the issues he creates. he is 6 feet one inch and 168 pounds. that is not an NBA body. he is going to have durability issues. his defense is.......well lets just say he doesn't have ANY. he is a good scorer, but not much else. I think Rob has a short NBA career
