Its an utter disgrace that this ever made court. If anything occured it would be justified. A UK soldier get treated very, very poorly by the government he was fighting for. No wonder they cannot recruit proper people these days. Thanks for your service, and videos.

I do believe that the lawyer that brought these false cases against British military should have been prosecuted himself, as you rightly say, an ambulance chaser.
I for one thank you for your service, and for what you are doing bow, which I have no doubt is helping other vets. Would love to buy you a beer sometine, only live a 2 miles from Aldershot, so if your down, first ones on me, Barry

Sad that personnel who were doing their duty are prosecuted years later. But politicians never face the consequences of sending soldiers to war under kitted and under trained.

To add to this...Shiner the disgraced lead lawyer pleaded mental health issues, hid his £2 million houses by signing them off to his daughters, pled bankruptcy and hid back under his rock.
The Law would have to change for me to ever pick up a rifle again for the government.
Like the buck stopping at RMP investigation where their report closes the door and secondly a waiver is signed and agreed in the event of war.
    Once bitten and all that.

Shiner, the lawyer, was eventually stuck off, and his firm closed down, but not before destroyed lives. I believe his main target was a section commander who was awarded the Military Medal

I think you sometimes have to wonder who's interests the MOD lawyers are acting in ? They almost certainly want a scapegoat who can be quickly handed to the press to move all attention and blame sideways away from the government, as was the case with soldiers who served in Northern Ireland.

Really interesting hearing about your experiences. May I ask how you ended up in PWRR, as you said you joined RA initially, and did you carry on on Long Service after your twenty two years, looks like you had a great career. 🙏

Yes, I left the RA about 85 and went into the Infantry, I was getting very bored at Larkhill, just wanted to change.

My grandfather volunteered to join the army in 1939 but was not accepted due to a health issue. He was a firefighter in London and a messenger for the Admiralty in Greenwich. As a child I sat and watched the BBC programme A World at War with him - my grandfather told me that the ordinary soldiers are treated as ‘cannon fodder’ it makes me feel sick to see soldiers being prosecuted whilst the politicians walk away Scott free. Politicians and tyrants cause wars not the guys sent to do their bidding.

Thank you Deborah, we would do well to listen to the war generation, we never seem to learn from our past. Cheers for your comment 👍
