In May 2017 WBC World Featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr nicknamed "Mr." defended his title against Colombian Oscar Escandon nicknamed "El Guerrero".
The fight took place at Russell Jr.'s home MGM National Harbor arena in Oxon Hill.
Today I suggest watching my review of this fight.
Although Escandon got up, it was a good call by the ref. He would have just taken more damage for nothing. He had neither the skill or power left to make a difference. It was a shutout up till that point too anyway.

Russel has no immediate african roots. Hes just american. Secondly, hes a journeyman with fast hands. Very little defense, no head movement. Very little footwork. No setting traps, no angles, just throw a bunch of punches and hope they land. They were just trading combos while they blocked, squared up. Kinda low level shit.
