I do not have to comment because our God does not need fighting for. He fights for himself The only thing I can remind Mr. Kinyanjui is to be careful with those who are not well grounded in their faith because it is easy to mislead them. I have no fight with our traditions. They are rich but I believe every word in the Bible is the breath of God and I believe there is hell. No amount of his teaching would change that.

Until you have depth of revelation in the wonder of the new creation reality that is revealed in the Gospel of Christ, it is impossible for one to be authoritative in commenting on the Bible. In this particular Conversation, Thiong'o wa Kinyanjui is exposing a deep rooted sense of self-centredness which seems to have denied him the opportunity to encounter the true revelation of God's amazing grace revealed in the Gospel. Looks like his career has been about being a "theological technician" in a denominational setting. He doesn't come out as one who has ever come into the place of depth of revelation in the Gospel. He has a very subjective, generic, narrow and shallow case against the Christian faith. His narrative doesn't satisfy anything that is deep - not scholarly, not spiritually. Having earned a lifetime fortune in salaries, allowances and other benefits as an Anglican clergyman, he lack the moral authority to speak against the denomination. Until he is able to pay back every shilling and return every piece of property bought using the remuneration from the Christian faith, he is unqualified to say anything against the Church that has fed his entire life or to prosecute a case for the tribal theology that he has evidently not lived out in any sense of evidence.

The best thing to do is not to study Church history. It won't help. Actually, this is exactly how this guy got himself into this deception that led him into perdition, then into what we call - syncretism, and later into his current situation. He is in very bad shape. Unlike science, history (including Church history) is a very weak source for anyone who is looking for to do a research that is built on factual, credible information. This is because history is not always factual and also, it is a very subjective discipline where the story is always made to lean towards the interest of the teller - e.g Evolution and Pre-history.
The issues in this conversation can best be dealt with from a CHRISTIAN APOLOGETICS angle. We would need to hear a response from someone who is equally exposed and qualified in spiritual matters and especially one who has the benefit of being spirit-filled and has depth of revelation in the Word of God. The things of the Spirit are neither academic nor cultural. They aren't figured out through logic. Until you have depth of revelation in the wonder of the new creation reality that is revealed in the Gospel of Christ, it is impossible for one to be authoritative in commenting on the Bible.
In this particular Conversation, Thiong'o wa Kinyanjui is exposing a deep rooted sense of self-centredness which seems to have denied him the opportunity to encounter the true revelation of God's amazing grace revealed in the Gospel. Looks like his career has been about being a "theological technician" in a denominational setting. He doesn't come out as one who has ever come into the place of depth of revelation in the Gospel.
He has a very subjective, generic, narrow and shallow case against the Christian faith. His narrative doesn't satisfy anything that is deep - not scholarly, not spiritually. Having earned a lifetime fortune in salaries, allowances and other benefits as an Anglican clergyman, he lack the moral authority to speak against the denomination. Until he is able to pay back every shilling and return every piece of property bought using the remuneration from the Christian faith, he is unqualified to say anything against the Church that has fed his entire life or to prosecute a case for the tribal theology that he has evidently not lived out in any sense of evidence.
Ngure Kim you are very informed on apologetics and very few people understand such truth. It's sad to see a former Reverend speaking against what he once stood for. I am a Christian apologist and I can tell for sure that there is no other worldview that makes sense except Christianity.
