Smash is a style that has been through a lot, something I know since I have been playing it for a long time and it was my first style when I was a new player. Thanks to this I was able to learn the mechanics of the game (obviously with time and dedication) and how fundamental it is to have a solid base before a very good style (something that I feel is forgotten or ignored) since it will always be like this 50% fight and 50% mind. (ignore the ping for now) till remember when I played smash before and I faced a slugger (he was at his exaggeratedly strong point) and despite being at a disadvantage thanks to the little I had learned with smash I was able to achieve victory.

Could you give some mix up tips with smash? I’m a diamond and my main is smash but I want to improve even more. You play smash in a way I’ve never seen before ngl.
I GOT YOU SON - m1 and m2 mixups are cool and all, but if your opponent doesnt have a reason to fear them, they'll always just wait for the m2 and PD. wait for their shield to get low, then look for the m1 and m2 mixups; if they play it "safe" and wait for m2 to PD, their shield will break 99% of the time (smash initial m1 actually does pretty decent shield damage) - im assuming you already know the general smash bread and butter mix-up, BUT JUST IN CASE: after you're in advantage state (basically during m1 barrage against opponent but your stamina is roughly ~50% full), end your m1 barrage early. once your stamina starts to regen just a little bit (LIKE THE MOMENT YOUR STAMINA BAR MOVES AN INCH), m1. don't go into a mash-m1 barrage, just keep repeating pattern of (stamina barely starts to regen) --> m1 --> (stamina barely starts to regen) --> m1 --> repeat.. of course, your opponent is gonna catch onto this and PD, and thats fine. let them PD your m1 stuff once or twice; get them used to the timing. once you know exactly which m1 they like to PD, look for the m2. it could look something like this (after I end my m1 barrage early): (stamina barely starts to regen) --> m1 --> (stamina barely starts to regen) --> m2 --> whatever you want here, depends on your opponent's patterns. when you m2 does depend on when your opponent catches on to the pattern you're establishing, so just keep that in mind as you're playing - not a mix-up tip, but it can help you get into situations where you can mix the hell outta your opp: UNLESS YOU'RE CONSISTENTLY LOSING INTERACTIONS, NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER GIVE UP!! stick close to your opponent; literally you being in range applies pressure, and against most people in your ELO they'll panic dodge or panic throw m1, which you can PD or sum. smash has pretty good shield damage and chip damage, so try to consistently win those m1 interactions.
