- Cooking beef stew with vegetables in an African cast-iron pot is an enjoyable outdoor experience. Chunks of beef, onions, and potatoes were combined with tomato paste (and a small quantity of water), spices, a touch of oil, and salt, then simmered over a wood fire. The result was a delicious stew, enjoyed alongside the beauty of nature on a windy day!
