Rabri is not yogurt ... it's milk fat (they keep boiling the milk over very slow heat till it thickens almost to a paste).

Rabri is made by reducing full creme milk (Buffalo milk) by boiling it while stirring continuously. The resulting thick milk/ milk-solid by itself is sweet then you add sugar, almond powder, cardamom powder etc to it. Super duper rich preparation. I never tried jalebi and Rabri combination though. Always had them separately at diff places. Very interesting concept. Thanks, Regards,
p.s. In the process of reducing the buffalo milk first product is _Baasundi_ , a little thicker is _Rabdi_ and final stage - milk solids - is _maawa_ or _Khavaa_ . _Baasundi_ is a drink that can be had directly or with Chapati (wheat bread). _Rabdi_ is what you had. And _Khawa_ is extensively used in many sweet preparations. All these are available all over India under diff names that even I do not know - 16+ official languages. Huh .... LoL

Oh hell nah. I'm from odisha and even I couldn't stand the kolkata crowd in durga Puja pandals. Its massive and many a times unruly. I almost got stampede over. It's better to keep foreigners away from such intense crowd even for indians. The decoration of the city is beautiful but thr traffic is also insane

Jalebi is a popular sweet snack in South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Mauritius. It is a spiral-shaped, crispy, and juicy sweet made with all-purpose flour, gram flour, and sugar syrup. Jalebi is also known as jilapi, jilipi, zalebia, zulbia, jerry, mushabak, z’labia, zengoula, or zalabia, depending on the region.
