- A musical introduction, belated though it may be, to Sir Reginald Pikedevant, Esquire.

It's a damned shame Sir Reginald's channel never gained the popularity it deserved
What great quality these few videos are
As it turns out... There's more!
@@HeavyMetalClown056 Oh blessed be, there is!
Lovely stuff old chap.
I quite loved your song "Just Glue Some Gears On It (and Call It Steampunk)"
You honour me, sir!
Cheers Mr B!
Awesome music!
Mr.B The Gentleman Rhymer: you too good creativity)
indeed! o may i say indeed! rather well done if i do say so myself
I really wish you could come back for making videos sir.
they are great.
you're in for a surprise!
@@RDSk0 noice!
I miss this chap. We need more of your colour in the musical world!
3 cheers for Sir Reginald! Bloody marvelous sir- you have my respect and support in your every endevor!
Thank you, sir! You do me great honour as well!
After so many years, I'm still impressed by the class of intelligence and wit that went into this song's lyrics.
Bravo, good sir. Bravo.
Sir Reggie;
I'm the chap that called you a one-hit wonder in Wikipedia (working to flesh out their chap-hop section, being one of their chief editors on steampunk music). I may now have to revisit that paragraph. And gladly so! (The "one-hit-wonder" phrase has already been redacted.)
Best in your continued endeavors!
Regards,
Sky Marshal Jonathan Baines "Jonny B." Goode
Chim chim cheree, chap-hopster! "And gladly so" is a fragment, and cannot stand alone as a sentence!
This is the most British thing I've seen in my life
Good for you Mr. BOX.
Signed, The Rt. Hon. Sir Adm. Chesterfield Sofa-Washbasin (Ret.)(Deceased)
"But I've got more rhymes than Roxburghe has ballads." is possibly my favourite lyric of all time.
Good old Sir Professor B The Elemental Esquire, I do wish you would return to us.
0:25 that sir... Made my day.
I've always appreciated how distinct Sir Reginald's music and style are from the other chap hop superstars (the aforementioned mister and the good professor). Chap hop is all the better for his contributions.
Please make more videos
They're good and catchy
I still miss him
Only 80 400+ views!? What a shame! This is great Chap-Hop!
If it hasn't been said yet, allowed me to say: You deserve as much acclaim as the good professor, or Mr. b.
always a pleasure to listen to your songs, sir. I do wish you'd put out more, but I'm content with 2 or 3 songs a year (as long as they're clever, witty, and a pleasure to listen to).
I dont mind the long wait for your releases. One video of yours is worth more than ten million pounds of the finest gold bullion.
I say dear sir, this is a rather pleasant surprise, indeed! I was visiting channel just moments ago to listen to your other songs and found this one up. Jolly good show, old chap.
It's incredible that this was once such a major issue in this guy's life that he decided to write a whole song about it.
This Serb wishes to see, or rather, hear, more videos of yours, Sir. They truly are wonderful.
oh snap! A new competitor enters the game!
I saw the "glue gears on it" video last year and though that was that - but this, it would appear, is this.
Good luck - the other two will be mentioning you on their albums in no time. Perhaps chap-hop will explode in time for you to be considered one of its founding fathers?
I particularly enjoy the difference engine casually in the background.
Sir Reginald comeback stage when?
Excellent rendition, Sir. I am jealous of your Babbage machine however and may have to send someone round. For science, you understand.
Excellent, dignified, and extra points for the Blanc-Sec name drop!
Man the 5 fingers on his right (our left) hand at 2:14 still messes with my brain to this day. I constantly go back in the video and count every single finger in almost every frame. Now it's become a routine to look every few months to make sure I'm not going mad because it just pops in my head (I blame the song for being so catchy)
It's obviously AI created, running on some infernal steam-driven machine of bronze gear wheels.
Cheers from out in the colonies for the wonderful wax-tube-recordings!
I can scarce believe that it has taken these years to discover your introduction.
What a pleasant surprise, it is good to see a return of one of the few chap-hop artists around!
Y..You're back! YESS! WELCOME BACK!
I wish you would create more videos. Your content is absolutely superb!
I had the recent pleasure of meeting you Sir at the Gilded Festival in Pennsylvania. This song is another delight, and I will attest to all out there that you are every bit the true gentleman you appear to be in your videos.
As soon as I saw that you had released a new video I got excited. I have not been let down. Well done old chap for giving me another giggle at your well informed rhymes.
Sir, I'm not sure where you came from (figuratively speaking of course)....but I hope you never leave! You're smart, you're witty, you've got a great voice and you could pass off for the next Dr. Who actor! Keep steampunking on, my friend!
Nice to see The Dune Encyclopaedia on your shelf sir!
I just remembered this song after all this time and had to come back to give it a listen, damn it's far better than I remember, man you are a genius but you already know that
What a splendid presentation indeed!
I salute you for your collection of AD&D books.
What a marvelous use of the English lexicon good sir. Bravo!
Thank you my good chap for making such good chaphop and steampunk, you help me remember to carry myself like a gentleman at all times, and to be thankful as a proper lady when someone shows me chivilre. Best day to you.
Wish you had done more, sir. Very much enjoyed your work.
"Detractors are going to detract." Oh man.
Superb, sir. For the most part, I prefer a darker sort of entertainment, but I tip my hat to you. Your work never fails to put a smile on my face.
Damn, he throws some shade at Mr. B 😂
Out of the three chaps, Reginald is by far the best!
sir reginald, you should put out a full length album at some point. i'd buy a copy. oh, and a few months back, i purchased a copy of "just glue some gears on it and call it steampunk" on amazon. keep up the good work.
You're great I wish you would continue making videos
Great work my friend...was definitely worth the wait!
Simply Fantabulous! I dont know if your in usa or UK but if your in USA you really have to come to England!
I must say, my good man, quite a show. I feel quite honoured to have viewed this. Good luck in your further endevours and I hope to see more of Sir Reginald Pikedevant Esquire.
What a superb way to set all things straight! Thank you!
you are quite welcome :) and it is very fine indeed to have you back
Wonderful! Brilliant!
I am just now discovering the joys of chap-hop, and you're contributions to the genre are great indeed. Thank you kind sir!
Welcome back, old chap, glad to see some fresh work on the turn-table, and marvelous work it is!
What's the joke behind the 'backup dancers' holding irons and spinning oven mitts on paint rollers?
We will never ever know. I guess is a joke with bad Steampunk design "inventions" on internet, but thats what I thought.
Hope this channel eventually uploads more of this work. It's absolutely delightful ^_^
Lovely introduction! I'm a big fan.
Sad to have only just come across this (it has been on my watch list for a while), but I enjoyed it immensely. A perfect introduction!
Thank you very much for your music, it brings so much joy.
That sir, was excellent. ;) Sorry about not having been able to help you with the coat. It's been put on backorder while a dose of RL hit my pocketbooks.
Not a moment too soon sir, a fabulous return to the parry and thrust of the eclectic musical scene, good to see you back in the fray. Can we now await the album?
Oh dear lord you have no idea how I missed you!
Please make more musical videographs old chap. One gets awfully frustrated by the lack of quality music from the colonies.
Fantastic work sir! Thanks for making this masterpiece. I really enjoy every second of your video. 👍👍👍
sir you deserve more viewers. this is just amazing.
Awesome, I love your work.
as always your video's are a great joy
quite belated, but much anticipated.
better late than never!
if nothing else it was nice to know how to pronounce pikedevant.
Oh this made me smile. Well done
Splendid as always.
Loving your visual puns!
Excellent song, Sir.
I don't know what to say. It's just excellent :).
I like the Steampunk knuckles :)
Pause the video on it, an tell me if it doesn't creep you out.
Madison Kirkman They say... "Steampunk" ?
BlackfootFerret but how many fingers is that?
Madison Kirkman 7..8.9.10...ELEVEN?! O_O Ah, I see...
Excellent stuff, sir.
TY Sir Reggi., you turned me on to the steampunk things, Mr B, Prof Elemental, and some really good crap...cheers!!
ye gods, We now have a trio of chap-hop gentlemen to team up and fire up the music! Brandishing their class act!
I only wish that we can have the Proff, Mr B and Sir Reginald in the same song, backed by the mechanical music trio that call themselves Giraffes.
+ShiftyMcGoggles oh how wonderful that would be! Something with something along the lines of "honeybee" as base, riddled with gentlemanly goodness.
This is brilliant, can't wait to hear more from you
What a fine injection of amusement :)
Splendid indeed sir
"Beef-headed flat"
LOL
I'm going to have to borrow this...with permission, of course ;D
Simply contemplating upon this celluloid convolution was sufficient to augment my au courant prestigious lexicon.
Very well executed, sir.
Tiens, Mademoiselle Blanc-Sec est connue ailleurs qu'en France? ^^ Superbe chanson: la communauté Steampunk française approuve!
Yaaaaay! I'm so happy Kate Beaton is making music videos again!
What do you mean, I missed the point?
Okay-- Forgive my failure of wit: Dancing with a steam-iron, and an oven mitt over a paint roller, around 1:12 ... clearly that's a visual pun, but I'm not getting it. Anyone??
Jolly good show ole Chap, jolly good show I say!
I missed that for so long, ' Not a Bong' awww.
But however, like most things, could indeed be, if you so, happened to be, if deeply inclined for it to become one. It could be one. And look rather dapper in doing so, given its curious design.
G-d's my life, Sir: flaunting a Baroque rackett, no less!
As for steampunk memorabilia, I was fortunate, some years ago, to have run across and acquire a minor classic, dating from long before such a notion as "punk" even existed, much less was steamed: an original hand-colored lithograph of Henson & Stringfellow's "Ariel" flying over the fields outside London (1842).
I'm delighted to make your acquaintance, Sir.
Love the knuckles!
[Curtsies] Very nice to meet you sir. :)
I just noticed his right hand has 6 fingers to accomodate the word "Steam" at 2:13
+Honorary Aperture But not for the rest of the song...maybe a joke finger?
+Honorary Aperture He's the Author of the journals... His real identity is Stanford.
Hahaa top hole ol'boy. Methinks that a three way rap/rhyme duel should be set up at the soonest possible chance :)
Wonderful eyebrows sir! (And rhyming skillz)
Babbage difference engine mark I prototype, I am impressed old bean.
I adore you, time to spread you around to my friends :)
0:55 I can't tell if he actually has a Babbage Engine or if that's edited in
That note near the end is amusing. I don't get how people can mistake Reginald for the two artists mentioned prior. My first thought was Johnny Depp until he dropped some lines.
I read it and you're welcome ;) Thank you for clarifying lol Well done, as usual!
