I can't express how much I appreciate the continued interest in our music, especially since we only made one record, and never played a live gig. Thanks!
I've been searching THIRTY YEARS for this song!!! I had taped the ass end of the song on the old college radio program Today's Aberation; Tomorrow's Fashion on KDVS 90.3 Davis. I had one hour to tape cool songs before I had to go to my dreary College Night Security Job. I've got four hundred bits of cool POST PUNK songs with no band names or titles God Bless you for Posting this Rare80' hits!!!
(Leaving this here so I can revisit) I haven't found any lyrics for this song yet, and I enjoy reading lyrics so here's what I heard: Eyes meet, blushing pink Thinking One might be You know The siren's song That calls seductively You used to mean so much You used to mean so much You used to mean so much But now it's turned around Paint love blue With the palette of your feelings Paint love blue With a brush of empty promises Paint love blue On the canvas of my broken heart Paint love blue First touch Passion sparks Flame's bright And blazing red One kiss recalled So vividly No thought To what we said You used to mean so much You used to mean so much You used to mean so much But now it's turned around Paint love blue With the palette of your feelings Paint love blue With a brush of empty promises Paint love blue On the canvas of my broken heart Paint love blue You used to mean so much You used to mean so much You used to mean so much But now it's turned around Paint love blue With the palette of your feelings Paint love blue With a brush of empty promises Paint love blue On the canvas of my broken heart Paint love blue Paint it blue Paint it blue
Found this song in a list of "obscure 80s new wave songs" and I'm so glad I did. It just... Fits into my brain perfectly, just slots right in there. Been listening to this on loop for most of the day
How sad. It pains me how so many great 80's bands were confined to College Radio Play. I compare this song with THE PASSIONS, THE AU PAIRS and 17 PYGMIES. I spent 20 years trying to track the name of your group down---I adored this song. I'ts definately NEW WAVE and POST PUNK...Definately NOT Alternatiive. Do you have any other recordings your group made? Could you post them on You tube. You should approach Hollywood for a soundtrack inclusion, possibly Rhino for another LEFT of the Dial box
escaton74 blimey maybe have to find a digital version it's just everything I love synths a vocal melody you couldn't dream catchy and flows nicely and I can sing to it and it's got a soul

Incredible song. How did this not become big?
Nice to discover some good synth sound from the day. Essentials for the synth sound lover.
I wish radio stations would play this awesome song.
this was recorded by Akron engineer Jim DeMain and his then girlfriend now wife Jeanette is singing. 1985.
Todd, what a surprise to see you here! I guess we still have our fans. I'll never understand it, but I am grateful for it.
Great find also waited 30 years to hear this again
Such a shame it never made it here, in Quebec province, Canada, back in the days... Thanks for uploading it!
(Leaving this here so I can revisit) I haven't found any lyrics for this song yet, and I enjoy reading lyrics so here's what I heard:
Eyes meet, blushing pink
Thinking
One might be
You know
The siren's song
That calls seductively
You used to mean so much
You used to mean so much
You used to mean so much
But now it's turned around
Paint love blue
With the palette of your feelings
Paint love blue
With a brush of empty promises
Paint love blue
On the canvas of my broken heart
Paint love blue
First touch
Passion sparks
Flame's bright
And blazing red
One kiss recalled
So vividly
No thought
To what we said
You used to mean so much
You used to mean so much
You used to mean so much
But now it's turned around
Paint love blue
With the palette of your feelings
Paint love blue
With a brush of empty promises
Paint love blue
On the canvas of my broken heart
Paint love blue
You used to mean so much
You used to mean so much
You used to mean so much
But now it's turned around
Paint love blue
With the palette of your feelings
Paint love blue
With a brush of empty promises
Paint love blue
On the canvas of my broken heart
Paint love blue
Paint it blue
Paint it blue
Thanks!
Such an incredible song!

Sounds like Berlin - Pleasure Victim/Love Life era
Can't find this on ebay 😔
even on discogs it's mostly being sold in the three-digit zone
escaton74 blimey maybe have to find a digital version it's just everything I love synths a vocal melody you couldn't dream catchy and flows nicely and I can sing to it and it's got a soul
I think I have fairly decent digitized versions of the 12" and 7" mixes, could upload those
We only had about a thousand printed, so I guess the "rarity" has made the price go up. I only have one copy myself!
Lyrics Please !!
