Creative Assembly granted me access to an early build of Total War Troy and the opportunity to show you this short cinematic battle, I hope you enjoy!

Duel starts at 2:07! These records are from two weeks ago, I had to record all these stuff in one day, so this one might be a bit short. I wanted to show you the graphics and basic mechanics of this game, I hope you enjoy!

Man Total War doesn't feel as real without the kill animations.
That's why I love Shogun 2 watching each individual Model fighting is sick
heavy on performance mind.
@@joeymac6970 Shogun 2 doesnt seem to have a problem with it. Its just an optimization issue on CA's part.

@@joeymac6970To be fair, even though it certainly is expensive to improve performance, CA oftentimes just cuts features instead of fixing them. I mean, if, for example, the battle AI was smarter, we wouldn't mind this kind of problem.

@@led_meister I don't remember previous total war games like Rome 2, Attila or even Thrones of Britannia having the same issue
@@lorenzogiampaoli2156 Rome 2 and Attila have armour stretching everywhere... So do the older titles and even warhammer (Karl Franz especially)
@@led_meister I played Thrones of Britannia a couple of days ago and honestly the armour stretching didn't seem to me so evident and ugly like in Troy. Even the chain mails' textures are pretty good in older titles in my opinion or at least not as ugly and "rubberish" as Troy. This is my personal opinion of course.

not having synced combat anymore for normal troops made Total War uninteresting for me
thats why i stopped playing the newer tw games, I hope they implement it back
@@pisipart2026 Three Kingdoms has sync kill animations, which is better than not having any. Rome 2 and Atilla's gameplay was sluggish and made cavalry engagements redundant because troop combat and formations were stupidly rigid.
If sync combat was all you were interested in, i bet you haven't been a Total War fan for very long... Shogun 2 was the only game where Sync combat was perfect because of the lacking Troop variety and was era-perfect... Rome 2 and Atilla's synced combat animations made infantry battles a slog and frankly boring. Three Kingdoms is the next best thing since it's very much similar to Medieval 2's style of combat gameplay. Instead of having one on one dedicated troop combat, instead they opted for just sync kill animations which is honestly preferable. I hope with the blood and gore DLC, CA implement troop kill animations... but only time will tell. I still don't undestand why a historical-esque title like Troy won't just use the 3k gameplay system and instead opted for Warhammer 2.
p;us they got greedy with it ...when you have to pay extra for blood and gore that finished me.
I hope mods can fix that

Waterloo is a bit hard because there is no game for that, Napoleon TW isn't enough to make a cinematic video. I already made the Siege of Constantinople but I'm planning to make it again with better graphics! :)
The game is very cool, but Achilles was untouchable. It looked like Hector was beating Achilles for a moment lol. But other than that, it’s a great game.
Well that can be fixed. :P I agree with you, better than I expected! :)
It used to be Hector being a better duelist until they beefed up Achilles. Hector might've been a better commander and possibly have better units(Probably due to Hector's alliance-building buff). I don't think it needs to be fixed, unless they decide to give Greeks some archers but according to some UA-camrs, Trojan factions have better early-game units in comparison to the Archean factions early-game units. Everyone plays Troy will most likely use the archer strategy.
They were equals in skill, Hector was the best the Trojans had to offer, and Achilles fought him for a while before beating him. He couldn’t just go out like the average light infantry troop.

That's because due to the way heavy armored units are balanced, Achilles almost never wins against Hector in the game. There's a video showing that in a set of 10 1v1 matches, Achilles was only ever able to beat Hector 3 times.

@@NedimCanIncebay 3k is a very good opus. they have greatly improved diplomacy as well as the administrative side (even if it is sometimes a bit heavy). on the other hand the battles are epic and this is the first time that they seem immense! for having had troy with the epic offer, even for free it is not worth it 😅 do you think you will fight on the thrid age mod?

Love how they put time into heroes dueling but they don't put time into animating units fighting like in Rome and Shogun total war.

The reason they removed sync combat is because of the games you just mentioned; I'm glad it's gone.
Because it was a stupid feature that didn't make sense. It was added in shogun 2 where it made sense as single duels were important.
In Rome 2 and Attila it made no sense, why would 2 people stay in a duel and everyone else not attack them. It also ruined formations and made infantry fights take way too long.

Achilles made Hector famous by killing him lol. That night Hector went to Hades without ears, without a mouth and without a nose and everybody knew, this is Hector the fool who thought he killed Achilles.

I feel you, but it gets kind of tricky when it comes to gameplay, imo I think 3 kingdoms and medieval 2 had the best balance between fight animations and gameplay believability

Aslında bütün sahneleri ağır çekimde çekiyorum ama yaklaşık olarak 5-6 saatlik süre içerisinde karambole çekebildiğim kadar sahne çektim. Bir kısmı birbiriyle uyumlu olmadığı için çoğunu kullanamadım bile tam hali elime geçtiğinde kesinlikle düşünüyorum onu. :)

They literally used the same animations as in Warhammer, no realistic animations at all...
All the recent total war games stoped with the synced combat, and chose to go with quicker and more arcade battles
The hero duels I don't mind. It looks real enough unlike those Warhammer heroes and lords where they do big ass hits and stuff. No really interactions.
I hope there will be a mod, which adds locked combat animations. Apart from that, the game looks amazing. And your edit even more so.
Mod probably exist after they released in steam (next year), because epic game store didn't have workshop to begin with

My gripe so far is the people seem less like people than Rome 2 (now not at release) but maybe that’ll be improved over time

Is there like only 2 set up animation between Achilles vs Hector? How many time he does the spin move?
Actually there is more than that but these ''spin'' moves are combination of different animations, they are not always the same but I couldn't show it clearly because as I said in description I had to record all of these scenes within 3-4 hours, that's what I could find. I couldn't even use most of them. But ofc it is also not that much, probably +8 or 9 .
This game really needs some blood in my opinion

the game is really fun the only thing is that they could touch up how the character looks like better graphics and more fight animations for the infantry and everything just everything when the heros fight they have a nice amount of battle animations too but yeah. another thing they could do is more like things on siege battles it looks so bland like the walls and stuff and more things u could do with siege equipment. Also idk if there trying to make this game a kid friendly game but more gore would be really nice touch up for this game

Because you have to do some researches on that period concerning the weapons and armor, cause the time of Troy, isn't the same as the classical period, and the Corinthian Helmet appeared pretty much 10 centuries after
