I had a '87 S10 blue with white stripes and rallies back in high school. I always liked the square body look over the curved look. I have a '81 Silverado that I'm restoring and will never get rid of.
Out with the old, to make room for the new. Ingenious key solution! Jay, thinking you need some land man! I’m figuring the first time you wake up and decide to pee off the front porch whilst enjoying your coffee - it will become clear that it will be time to move on to broader pastures.
I drove my brothers 97 ext cab 4.3 S10 for a few months. I can't imagine how dog slow that 2.2 is lol. I'd like to see more content on your 89. That looks super nice.
Wayne Lutwiniak you are correct about that. BUT I will say she towed a double axel 12 foot enclosed trailer loaded with my stuff when I moved and handled it pretty well for a 4 cylinder
Good looking little truck for $1500. Around where I live, people would be ready to pay that in a hurry for a truck in decent shape like that one is. Most things around here are rusted out after about 5-7 years. Hope your dad is doing well.
Hey man. I work at my family’s scrapyard in Michigan and two days ago we bought a 97 Regular Cab Dakota. V6. 2WD. Full tank of gas. Cleanest body I have ever seen on a Dodge for 22 years old and has original 29k miles. 29k is crazy. Some guy who moved to Europe and his family scrapped it and only got $110. Selling it for $2500 not having to do a thing to it. Love our line of work.
MEMORY LANE! I had an 84 S10 Tahoe package ext cab 4x4 2.8L auto AND a 99 S-10 2.2L 2wd 5 speed. GREAT little trucks. The 84 was a worker had 303k miles when it got turned into a pickup bed trailer. The 99 got 26 mpg when empty and about 18 loaded with a small trailer, it had 190k when it spun a rod bearing and I sold it for $1400. Oh regrets.
I would keep both of them and use the older s10 as a work mule, as you're doing. and make that one really nice and use it as your sunday goaround truck. Perfect for roadtrips or small arrons here and there. But your truck you do what you want. Very nice trucks.
Welcome back bud! I’ve missed you but I know life can get busy & moving can take awhile! I’ll look forward to seeing what you post next. Glad you’re doing well!

That's a damn good looking little truck for that money. The last one of these I sold was a 95 extended cab, 4cylinder/5 speed, it was rusty and beat all to hell and I got $1200 for that...
Those are tough little trucks for lite duty!! And nice wheels n tires !! And sounds great idling!Someone will really get good service out of that machine!! For years!! Great truck!! Miles don't mean that much to those machine!!
Sooo that key in the original ignition switch isn't so you don't get arrested? I mean, that's what i'd use it for if had this problem lol. Pretty smart thinking either way.
Tyler Matthews also so the transmission works I believe. the new ignition switch only runs the starter??? could be wrong. think he said that. not being snarky haha

Why not hold onto them both and use the GMC as a fun project. I remember the first video on that truck, bad transmission, someone at some point tried to steal it so the wires were messed up. You put a lot of work into it, why not enjoy it for now? You have that truck looking pretty nice now.
Your time is worth something. You should be able to make money on something that you buy dirt cheap and then get it so it's in running driving condition.
Nice truck. That would be here in Finland around 3-4€k but the mileage is quite big. And that ignition switch patent would never pass our inspection. So nice truck, you'll get about $1100.

Hey Jay, I have a question. I have a 1995 Sierra and in 1998, they changed the steering wheels to the one shown in the Sonoma. Will this steering wheel fit in a 95 Sierra? They used them in 98 Silverados and Sierras as well as Sonomas and Jimmys, blazers, s-10s, etc... I just don't like my steering wheel design and I really like the newer ones.
