      I mix Ballistol Universal with water at a 1 part oil/5 parts water analogy. It provides a finer sharper edge on my knives and saves the stones from wearing out fast. It mixes with water in a second and becomes white as milk!
      It's easy to apply, just drop one drop of Ballistol and 5 drops of water on the stone and mix them with your finger. It only takes 1 or 2 seconds, to mix it! It's great for maintaining axes too! For guns, I would choose their more specilized Ballistol oils, instead of the Universal. They also make a specilized honing oil, for sharpening knives, but the Universal Ballistol, also works fine!!

    My dad worked as a technician and had his personal workshop in our basement.
    Every time I open my bottle of Ballistol nowadays, to use it for whatever purpose, I smell on it, close my eyes and then I am in my old man's workshop again for a few moments in my mind.
    RIP Papa. ; _ ;

    I love this stuff. I have a very large and expensive collection of historical firearms and this is what I use to preserve them. Twice a year I bring them all out of the safes and give them a Ballistol wipe down and haven't seen a speck of rust since. I did the same before with other gun oils (including Rem Oil and regular CLP as well as the special long-term CLP) and was still getting rust on some guns but ZERO once I started using Ballistol.

    I used Ballistol for maintenance on my handpan (metal instrument). I read alot about special handpan oils but they were expensive and so hard to get. Then I found Ballistol. Since it’s not harmful for your skin it’s perfect. My handpan now looks like new again thanks to Ballistol! I will for sure buy this product again! Highly recommend!

You can just spray them clean with non clorinated brake cleaner if you don't want to remove the terminals. Make sure your car will not lose its radio programming if you disconnect your battery. I'm curious...why did the German military stop using Ballistol, and what did they replace it with?

    • @BALLISTOLKLEVER
      @BALLISTOLKLEVER  2 роки тому +5

      Since the German imperial era, the entire military has used Ballistol Universal Oil. In the 1980s, there was a change in the requirements for oils in military tenders. Since then, the "normal" military no longer uses Ballistol Universalöl, but special units or task forces still do. These can buy Ballistol Universal Oil - and other of our weapon care products - without a tender and still use it today.

    Question: Ballistol is described as non-toxic, but is it food safe? I wanted to try removing rust on some cookware with it, but am unsure if it would linger and be unsafe. Also, is there a difference between the aerosol version and the liquid version besides a propellant? What is the propellant for the aerosol version?

    • @BALLISTOLKLEVER
      @BALLISTOLKLEVER  2 роки тому +6

      Yes - it is food-safe, skin-compatible, entirely harmless and fully biodegradable. And also right is that the propellant is the only difference. Here you find, in addition, an overview from our website: ballistol.de/shop/en/products/all-things-mechanical/ballistol-multi-purpose-oil/

I'll be buying some more, But on my other question does over oiling machines like a rifle cause harm to the rifle? I was thinking of putting some ballistol under the muzzle break of my rifle, but since the barrel flexes and bends i'm not sure if that would cause minor but over time harmful pressure on the threads.

    • @BALLISTOLKLEVER
      @BALLISTOLKLEVER  3 роки тому +1

      We understand your word muzzle break as a muzzle flash brake. Our recommendation ist to apply Ballistol GunCer grease to the thread of the muzzle flash brake and screw the brake on.
      We understand your described situation in such a way that the barrel expands due to temperature and therefore puts pressure on the thread because of the oil. However, this expansion is so small that no damage is caused to the gun.
      Basically our tip on the amount of product (for the Universal Oil and everything else) is: Apply as little as possible, but as much as necessary.
