Thank you for posting this video. I've just returned to the rc world after a gap of 30 years, so learning the basics again. V helpful.
I'm glad to hear, thanks for stopping by!
Good info at a good time. I'm going to be putting a WPL together soon...
Very nice how to mate! easy to follow with clear instructions. You did a great job on this!
Bro you put the glue on the outside of the tire, that'll spin off immediately with 3s , you never lifted the bead, you need to Bend the bead back then lay the glue down in the bead & continue until the entire sides done. allow that to dry flip tire & do the other side 👍🏼
I agree with you, but he mentioned these being for a crawler, so probably good enough for that.
Glad to see you recommending not to pull the tyre away from the wheel rim to allow the glue in! Bravo mate! Thin cyanoacrylate bonds instantly! So you can't correct any mistakes.
Great idea to do the RC basic's video's! So many other videos and forums seem to expect everyone to know a lot of these thing's already. Thanks!
So glad I just watched this im new to crawling and just brought a set of traxxas trx4 wheels and tires and a couple are flat good way to save money thanks for info subscribed and a thumbs up 👍
Hey Stuart, glad it was helpful and thanks for the sub!
I diddn’t trim the foam for my new slash tires but I did glue the crap out of the beads then wrapped with rubber bands and they turned out perfect.Even ballooning on 4s the tires stay put. Nice video though :)
Pro tip: while you're doing this, turn the tires inside out and sand the inside and apply duct tape or Gorilla tape before putting back in the foams and gluing them back on the rims.
This will greatly reduce ballooning at high speed.
Crawlers may disregard this suggestion.
Creepy crawlers? On yur hat. I owned an animal trapping business with that name in southern oregon in the 90s. Ty for the tire tips.
Awesome. I'm new to RC, so this was extremely helpful to me!
Hey Tony, I see you found my video on gluing tires. Glad it was helpful.
Great video man 👌🏻 nice work 😉👍🏻
Very helpful!!!
Thanks Jordan, I'm glad to hear!
Always interesting video, thank you
Great video! Got me to thinking tho, how much are descent quality beadlocks for a TRX4? Aftermarket tires/wheels have peeled loose and will fold over going around a turn. So wanted to plug weep hole as well. Ideas? Thanks!
Very helpful, thanks.
Very informative,never had to glue my tires,but I how to now,thank you,love the video💀💀💀💀💀🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Great helpful tips!
Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful.
Excellent tutorial!😎👍
Very helpful, thanks for making this video.
You're very welcome.
@@TandemCTelevision Did you use anything other than water for the cleaning solution on the wheels and tires?
You could use a degreaser, like Simple Green, to remove any grime or oils. Make sure and use just water to fully remove the degreaser and residues before gluing.
Great video man
What are you cleaning with?
Flex Super Glue
NC MOUNTAINS ❤.. Cool tip.. 👍!
Yes
For glue we would want to use the thin starbond glue? Great video I'm just curios so I don't ruing a pair of new street wheels.
Yes, and use the application tip that comes with the Starbond, and of course take your time. Check down in the description for a link to Starbond and a discount code.
This is scary lol, I've always bought pre mounted wheels/tires for my other trucks but on my Crawlers I've always had Beadlocks, but now I've started a Stampede Mud Truck project and bought some Jconcepts Fling King tires and Dragon wheels and am about to "attempt" my first time ever at gluing tires. I'm wondering if I should just wait and buy some cheap tires & wheels to practice on before I attempt gluing on tires and wheels I've got $120 tied up in...
I'd practice first, and remember to stay patient.
TandemCTelevision you didn’t even put glue in between the tire and rim on the back side. All the glue is on the tire
@@andresvillagomez75 You're right Andy, this guy is not doing it right.Maybe ok with a low power kids rc ...
Best way to do it would be to install the tires onto the rims like the video guy did, then pry the tire from the outer rib on the wheel (where the bead seats) and run either a line of super glue or small dabs of glue all around the circumference, then pull the tire into place to seat the bead into the rib. Using the video method, the dried glue will show on the tires/wheels and you waste a bit of glue.
Hey can I use super glue?
Subscribed!
The same brand glue your using makes a Deboned also. No more hair dryer, oven, etc...
Can I get those rims in 2.2 ?
Any super glue ? Gorilla ? Crazy glue ?
I believe I glued my tires on right as the bead seems to be properly seated throughout the whole wheel, however now I am getting some major wheel wobble, which doesn't happen with my old wheels. Any idea why?
Nice vid as always. One question, will this method stops balooning?
No, unfortunately it will not, but that would make for a good video. There are many methods to prevent ballooning and a video comparing them could be fun.
Thank ypu
You're very welcome!
where can i buy such a glue? my wheels just come off the rim at 50 miles an hour but nothing really broke 😂
You should be able to get a good CA glue at your local hobby shop. Amazon also works, but I like to buy local.
What's CA glue?
Cyanoacylate glue, better known as super glue or crazy glue.
Good video bro👍
What do I clean it whith
Doesn’t it throw off the balance of the wheel by not cutting it right? The foams.
Balance only matters with high speed and besides, it’s a model, not something you ride in, lol
should you glue even if you don't have foam inserts?
The only time not to glue is if you're using beadlocks
Can a regular super glue use? Like crown bond. If i can only send a pic here 🙄
Super glue and CA glue are the same thing, it's all cyanoacrylate. I'm not familiar with Crown Bond, but if it's claiming to be super glue it should be fine. Another common brand would be Krazy Glue. I hope this helps.
Okay thankyou for the information sir. This helps very much 💕
Hi! How do I fix a tire to a metal on road rim? Clue?
CA glue should work for you, I would lightly scuff the bead before gluing.
@@TandemCTelevision Thank you so Much!
Does it matter what type of glue
CA glue or what is better known as super glue.
@@TandemCTelevision ok
Will gorilla glue work
Yes, a thin CA glue (super glue) works best.
@@TandemCTelevision thanks
can i use super glue
Yes, use a thin super glue.
Music sux
What are you using to clean the tire?
Simple green works best
@@Girtthquake simpel green? 🤔 I don't think we have such a thing in Denmark
An all purpose cleaner would do just fine. Just head to your local grocery store and look around!
