I had a really deep corner cabinet before in a previous home. At some point we remodelled and put a turntable in that corner. It was always a pain as it swallowed up stuff. Great hiding spot for the grandkids, they loved it. At 71, getting on the floor is not a good idea. A real challenge to get up again.
So glad you weren't hurt on the floor! You scared me! Be careful. If you stay in one position too long, you can compress your nerves, and it will be hard to get up. I love cavatini! ❤
I cleared out my cabinets last week because I found myself buying things I already have well stocked. I put my food in higher cabinets. If I had to clear out a floor level cabinet I may as well pack a lunch because with my "old man back" I'd be there for awhile😂. Cyber hugs for you and please a bug old hug for Mr. Gizmo😸❤🙏💕
Hi Granny, that cabinet held lot's of yummy goodies. That ground beef is a great thing to have on hand. I'm interested in what you decide to do with your spices, it will be nice for you to stay off that ladder. Happy organizing, have fun, we look forward to seeing the next cabinet. Have a wonderful Thursday stay safe and well always 🙏❤️
Yesterday‘s cleaning of the pantry, I found a cream of corn that I made for dinner and I put together certain foods. I was looking for fried beans and I did find some, but I made some yesterday as well which I probably make some today and it was really good and see what you got, Mark and put some dates on what needs to be used right away
Hi Granny! Sharing a recipe from high school Home Ec class from 1970. Easy, cheap and good hot or even cold the next day. One of our favorites! Spanish Rice - 6 sl. Bacon fried, save grease to add 1 diced green pepper and onion to cook together until onion is clear & tender. Crumble bacon and add to skillet plus 3 cups cooked rice and one can diced tomatoes. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper...cover on low until flavors are blended. Yummy and filling. Thought you might want to try with all your rice....by the way...how do cabinets and freezers get out of order anyway? 🙃 You just inspired my to do list for tomorrow!
I've done that a lot around here. Not related but this morning, my husband found our girl cat under the covers in her cat room bed. She's not dumb, she learned how to stay warm.
Well you wont starve!!!!!Now for the greatest trick of all!!!!!Granny standing back UP!!!!!!I have a pantry where everything is at eye level!22 here in the high desert of California with a high of 50 and a chance of snow this weekend!!!!!
I recently cleaned out my small pantry because so much got stuffed in it since Thanksgiving. I found all sorts of goodies that needed to get used up! I took all those things out and put them on my island to use up. The pantry is nice and neat now and will likely stay that way until next Thanksgiving.😂 I just found you this morning and subscribed right away. Great video!
Isn’t it funny how we tend to forget the items we purchase. I tried keeping a log of food items but I just couldn’t keep it current. So every once in a while, it’s good to check our shelves to reacquaint ourselves with what we have. The only “food” items I have in our cabinets is sugar and sugar substitutes, along with honey and baking supplies like baking powder and soda, flavoring extracts and a couple types of salt. When we moved into our house in 1987, someone who had lived here before us had built a nice big shelving unit along with shelves attached to the wall. That whole space has our ac/furnace in it and our washer and dryer. Every shelf is jam packed with the usual pantry items. I go through it occasionally and rotate items to the front that will expire earlier. It’s a chore!! This was an interesting video. I think we humans are curious and interested to see the types of things that others have in their pantries. 😉 Hope you have a great day! ❤-Brenda
Great idea on a cold day! We have had a stretch of below 0° plus wind chills here in Indiana! It might get above 30° this weekend! I use my reacher to get spices out up high. Ladders aren't good to me! 😂 Have a great day Granny! ❤
The great thing about canned meat is that you don't lose it if you have a long power outage. I need to take inventory of my fridge freezer & clean it out today. It's 16° this morning. It's finally supposed to get above freezing today, though. This kind of cold is not normal for Tennessee!😮
I'm 62 and have stopped putting food in the bottom cabinets. I've forgotten too many things and had a can of tomato sauce leak, and it wasn't expired yet. And it's just gotten too hard to get down on the floor. LOL I'm glad you have found so many useful items, it will help with your challenge!
I saved sheets of packing foam, some 1inch thick, some 1/2 inch. I used them to add a layer of insulation to the back of sink cabinets with outside walls. Had to cut smaller pieces to slide behind the plumbing. Getting down on the floor was the hardest part!
Good morning, I do enjoy your videos. We are in Wyoming and we got about 7 inches. That's fine it's the bitter cold wind that rips through you that sucks. Temps - 29 🥶
This is what I'm doing as we speak, organizing my pantry/kitchen, and its a mess. I've been at this since December, taking each space on a daily basic. I'm throwing stuff away, purging item I no longer use and making it easier to get to. I'm older and no ladders for me, I do have a step ladder. It will be so much better when you get it organized. I use Dollar tree baskets to organize, I buy a few each month. It is however, hard on knees and bums.☺️
I just did some of mine last night and I’m did good I only have 1 can good to get rid of ..and I found a pot that’s needs to go but also wants to make me redo some shelves I have ..but maybe later ..we have a doctors appointment This will be the first time I get out in 3 days .(arctic blast)
You know granny we always find good stuff in our food cabinets I make my brother organize my food pantry he does a good job. Luv your. Channel. Pa. ♥️❤️❄️🏕️🌠⛄💈🌷🌹🌲🏔️☃️⛺
I just buy a week’s worth or so of food that is mainly fresh produce and meat. I don’t buy anything to store in the pantry. I eat everything I have before I go to the store again. My parents were always buying stuff on sale. They just sold their house so we had to clean out all their food. The chest freezer was full of food as were the shelves. We threw most of it away because it was several years old especially the frozen food. They were always running to the store too because they “had nothing to eat”. I don’t understand buying all of this food “on sale” and then not even using it. I used to waste some food, but finally figured out how to not overbuy and waste food.
Always keep, at least a few days, of extra food on hand in case of emergencies. As I type, I'm thinking about all the people who have been in (and still are today) disaster situations across the USA. Snow & Ice storms, hurricanes, wildfires and the history of earthquakes, civil unrest, pandemic and more that have caused all sorts of issues. At least keep a few cans of soup and a manual can opener, in case whatever is most likely in your area happens. Begging from your neighbor may not work, as they may also be depending on other people, as well.
Perhaps as an older person, it would make more sense to keep canned food on a more reachable hight in an upper cabinet + keep pots+ pans or cleaning supplies in that cabinet. One of these days, you might not be able to get up from the floor!
I have ny spices near stove onkazy susan A- L & 2nd M- Z keeps them organized. Tip - least use items in kitchen in farthest soace or cabinet . Make Paper Inventory of items in cabinets so you know exactly what you got & when canned or expired.
I reorganized my cabinets and small pantry are a couple weeks ago. Tried to put all related items together....veggies, baking items, muffin/biscuit mixes, pasta, etc. I don't have many cupboards so it still looks cluttered...lol
Use ground meat in meat & vegetable soup. Make a pot and freeze in meal or 2 sized portions. Routine cleaning out and organizing does help with "I didn't know I had it" situations. Don't ask me how I know. 🙂
Hi Granny, thank you for sharing, I’ve been doing the same organizing my pantry on these old days. It’s -22f over here in Ontario Canada the past few days so inside as much as possible 🥶! Would it be possible to show us how you can things sometime? Hope all is well with you.

Oh I need to do a couple of cabinets myself! Waiting to see your 2nd cabinet.
Good morning from frosty New York. Enjoying your video with my coffee. It's weirdly interesting to see what other people have in their cabinets.
I know, like a fun treasure hunt! No 2 people are alike!

It's always fun finding treasures as we clean out! I use baskets to corral things I use together.
Lot of goodies in that cabinet .

Good to have Cabinet look at & Inventory. Maybe a small vegetable can tray to sort & allow you to see & move the items --layers

I’m 60 and it’s not the getting down on the floor but the getting up!!!😂😂
i really need to clean and declutter

Awesome video. It's always great seeing you again. I love you Granny 💜💐🦋☺️
I am pushing off the food storage cabinet until next month. The garage must be dealt with first.
If anyone feels led, please pray the Lord heals me. Thank you!
Many prayers for your healing 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@hopebritton3087 Thank you so much! God bless you and your loved ones! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
I have a large pantry. Try to organize stuff I use regular up so I CAN reach it

Thank you for a down to earth vudeo
But it feels good to refresh and renew
Grandma, your hair is looking gorgeously White as it’s in the light!

Pa 10 degrees high 24 today sun is out !!!
I see ground beef with brown gravy over rice or mashed potatoes.

Oh please don't leave your cabinets empty or you might be doing without during a crisis. Be wise and store up essentials ❤

I think you have enough food on hand for the rest of your life now!
We’re trying to clean out food areas also. I don’t think getting on the floor would work for us.
The only thing I have in my cupboard is canned wild caught salmon…about a dozen.
Perhaps as an older person, it would make more sense to keep canned food on a more reachable hight in an upper cabinet + keep pots+ pans or cleaning supplies in that cabinet. One of these days, you might not be able to get up from the floor!
I have an upper cabinet with food for day to day use. The bottom cabinet is overflow I pull from. Thanks for watching

I have my canned goods in a lower cabinet too. I watched you cleaning and was thinking, I need to get busy and do the same thing. 🫶💙🫶
