Unironically one of the best radiohead songs ever. I think a lot of their songs (especially in Ok Computer) give you a bittersweet or melancholic vibe but this song just goes out. Almost conveys a mix of emotions: like betrayal, anxiety, and some you can’t even explain, like the feeling you get when your given absolutely terrible news. Amazing.
like your friends betrayed you or you came home to your family only to find your house burning and everybody you love dies and all you did for everybody, all the sacrifices you made was for nothing, nothing at all.

I feel so scared of the future w/o the love of my life. He died suddenly in February and I'm so lost. This song makes me ok to cry, as long as I need to. Love it, always have. Peace
I am sorry to hear of your loss. Do not fear the future of being alone because as long as you look after yourself and love yourself you will be fine. Grieve because a period of mourning is required for those of us who shared the light with a soul who now departed leaves its long shadow. But never forget you are an independent being capable of so much on your own. Big hug.

2:47 He looks at the blinding lights, not even comprehending that there's an earsplitting sound going along with it. Knowing his life is horrifically and emphatically over, he feels so disconnected from everything he hardly even reacts. Once they begin to make their way towards him, he limps the other direction. It doesn't matter though. It began to not matter past that point. Because they grab him. They take him away. Away from everyone. His life crumbled underneath him so fast.

Discovered this song from my favorite band an hour ago. I had chills all over my body and I still have it, I really don't know how to feel about this song because it brings up so much emotions to me, from joy to sadnessbto nostalgia.. This is so beautiful but so sad at the same time I love it.
This song gives me chills at how much this reminds me when me, my mother and sister escaped an emotionally and physically abusive household. The ending sends me into chills every time
That is exactly what I thought this song was about when I heard it. A couple of kids running from a horrible home. Apparently it's actually about Romeo and Juliet (written for the 1996 film) , but I still had to hold back tears while listening to this on the train today.
I used to listen to this song when I was suicidal and I’m glad I didn’t make the choice I wanted to make because now I feel way better and for anyone who is struggling please talk to someone because that someone could make a difference
Its astonishing. For many years I thought it was impossible to live a life thats for than 50% happy. I didn't even doubt it. With that there was for me no reason to not kill myself. Somehow I still did not. And I'm glad. Cause in the last month I achieved what I thought to be impossible.
I had a panic attack the other day, even took my sleeping pills but nothing could calm me down. Some time later I turned this song on and I could finally start breathing normally, in a few minutes I was finally able to fall asleep.
"Since I was a child... I've always loved a good story. I believed that stories helped us to ennoble ourselves, to fix what was broken in us, and to help us become the people we dreamed of being. Lies that told a deeper truth. "
Criminally underrated Radiohead song. Most songs, like No Surprises or Paranoid Android give me a melancholic feeling in my gut, but this song is just next level. Makes me feel like my parents have disowned me, or all of my friends have admitted to always hating me. Just an awful, awful feeling demonstrated in this song. I love it.
Everytime I hear this song I just feel intense pain. Tears just start forming in my eyes immediately, I literally tried my best to not cry and then this song came on and I just started sobbing uncontrollably, letting all my build up anger and sadness come out. Wandering Lyric me too! At first I thought that the hacker let the two people fight and then whoever won, he blamed for what the other did. I think it was because we were rooting for Kenny, so it was hard to think that he was in the wrong..
The lyrics are so beautifully written from a very unusual POV in a moment Shakespeare never gave us. That FU moment in Romeo’s head as he and Juliet escape to marry… then it hits you, the irony of how it all ends.
I love the story behind it, they were only shown the last 30 minutes or so of the film and asked to write the closing music, which they aptly named exit music (for a film)
“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?”― Tennessee Williams.
do you ever get so used to listening to songs for associated bad memories or to cry but finally find one song that's emotional and you have no memory behind it? it's the best, I love this song and I actually saw it live !! it was awesome.
Lol, I watched umbrella academy before i watched black mirror, and black mirror did it so much better that when i saw it on there i didnt even remember the song being from umbrella academy, and even had to go back and look for the part.
This was in the 100 when the Ark landed on earth and the people who have been in space for too long have finally reached the surface of the earth. Abby walks out and is just absolutely astonished and completely blown away by how breathtakingly beautiful the Earth Really is. She steps out of the ship and this song plays. It's truly my favourite part of the whole series
Rewatched the 100 and then I came across that scene and said, “hey I didn’t notice this before” and I’m in love with the song. It describes every emotion.
Ahaha I already knew this music, but I hear for someone that this music is inspired when I was hearing Chopin's Prelude no. 4 and then I became shocked with it and came here to do this comparison and see if anyone thinking the same about it
Γιάννης Γαρεφαλάκης agreed. me and my partner had a bitter argument afterwards, because we differed on whether or not the young lad was deserving of sympathy. It really made you question yourself. On a more positive note, this is such a beautiful song, and I've not heard it in a long time.
Γιάννης Γαρεφαλάκης Kenny may have been fucked up, but, is it justifiable to torture him over it? Does that not make them (the hackers) just as evil, if not more so, than those they judge worthy of said torture? After all, who will watch the watchmen?
The hairs stood in my arms as soon as I heard the first notes on Westworld, knowing the lyrics made that scene perfect. An awesome song and an awesome show.

What a great song. There's nothing like this being written anymore. His enunciation of the letters at the ends of certain words, the ones most singers drop, is chilling. Really listen to it and appreciate it.
The bass line in the climax is what makes this song imo
This song makes almost any scene so much more powerful

I feel so scared of the future w/o the love of my life. He died suddenly in February and I'm so lost. This song makes me ok to cry, as long as I need to. Love it, always have. Peace
Use this song. Don't abuse it. And I'm very sorry for your loss.
Big hug.

He looks at the blinding lights, not even comprehending that there's an earsplitting sound going along with it.

Criminally underrated Radiohead song. Most songs, like No Surprises or Paranoid Android give me a melancholic feeling in my gut, but this song is just next level. The lyrics are so beautifully written from a very unusual POV in a moment Shakespeare never gave us. That FU moment in Romeo’s head as he and Juliet escape to marry… then it hits you, the irony of how it all ends.
The song of 1996, written by Radiohead specially as a soundtrack to Romeo+Juliet film (starring young DiCaprio)
I love the story behind it, they were only shown the last 30 minutes or so of the film and asked to write the closing music, which they aptly named exit music (for a film)
