Just rewatched the original trailer, and thought I have not seen a new Ford video in some time. Seems I will be in for a real treat with this full length version now. Recall, this amazed me in a simple 3 minute version. I have cleared my afternoon to see this in full glory. Thank you Ford!

There is a very similar technique in spanish pieces called "damasquinado" that is essentially the same thing but making the cuts with a fine knife instead of a chissel. Damasquinado is usually done with very fine gold or silver sheets and the cuts are only made on the metal to be covered.

good to see youre making videos again. youre like the cult underground channel for high end metal working that everyone who subscribed waits for hoping they come back. really unparalleled workmanship. do you live in japan still or are you elsewhere?

Hi Ford. Would 0.3mm silver sheet or wire work or does it have to be 0.1mm

0.3 would be a bit thick, but on a very roughly cut iron ground might be workable. The only way to know is to experiment. Having said that it's wise to gain a degree of understanding and skill in the basic technique before trying too much experimentation.
