This is the first ever I have heard from Noisia. I am a metalhead, and I was searching for harshness and intensity similar to that of metal, in the genre of electronic music. I was not dissapointed.
Not trying to shit on noisia...but i wouldn't call their music harsh or intense, there is other electronic music that would fit those attributes. Noisia is more like experimental music for me. Have you heard of Sullivan King? Since you are a metalhead you might feel at home with his music.
It's only showing how things are. It's the viewer's decision to see said things as sad/enraging/fair. The only difference is that you assume it to be coming from the left since it doesn't show the full picture. That's invalid due to the fact that the left isn't the only part of the political spectrum that cares about human lives wherever they may come from.
They also don't do all of those things. You obviously don't live in an area with a lot of them about, otherwise you'd see that the vast majority of them are normal, hard working and respectful human beings like us. And of course there are bad apples, just as there are bad apples amongst the indigenous population.

This video shook me to my core and honestly want to thank Noisia for making it, it really shows the raw experience of refugees in a very humanist way. I have to mention the Union Jack floating through the rubble in the opening shot. The UK (my home nation) reclaimed it's place as the second largest arms exporter last year, winning £14 billion in sales. 80% of those arms go to the middle east. The complicity is evident. If you find this video disturbing, maybe take a look at who you're voting for. Peace 🌍

The video totally fits, and I don't know what political statement some of you guys think this is promoting, it's simply showing situational hardship. What is supposed to go with this song? Lollipop bitches in short skirts?
Did you really asked that question? Really? A bunch of guys actually doing what? Waving hands? What is this supposed to mean? Where is Mantra in it? Where is dynamic movement? Only the part with dancing in the rain have something that is actually refering to the music. Thats my opinion tho. And do not forget to call me racist.
Mantra is the "vehicle or instrument of thought or thinking" and this song it's working in that way, helping people thinking about the hurtful reality out from the internet and the social crap! Maybe if you get it in this way, I hope you can understand better the videoclip and the message in it. Ps. Most of the guys in the video are real refugees and they don't just wave the hands. :(
This is their art, connection between motions and music. Not a propaganda or your political shit. If you came here from a source where this video is putted like that. Noisia are the artists who are for sure with no exaggeration pushing the limits in the electronic music.

Disgusted at the amount of racist comments! I thought noisia had a more intelligent fan base... I know right? I'm like: Woah this is such a trip. So deep, because the people in it are actual refugees. And then I read the comments and am like: are these people for real?! How do people like this even find, let alone like music this good?
"Woah this is such a trip" Why? Solely based on the music probably. It looks pretty plain. "So deep, because the people in it are actual refugees." It's pretty damn straightforward. Showing something off that is important doesn't equal depth. Getting actual refugees and all is neat but it doesn't matter for the result. What I mean is that I just don't think the video is very good. And that doesn't mean I'm ignorant about these issues.
Look Paul, I'm replying in the knowledge that we're not going to agree, because this is about taste. Also: I should specify that the commenters I was referring to are mostly the 'Build the wall' bunch, to which you probably don't belong since you haven't mentioned it yet. :-) For me, the most awesome thing about the video is that the director and the band had the courage to display something important in a way that is true to what's actually happening - but also in an artistic interpretation that turns it into something beautiful. The song is great and is a large part of 'the trip', but the video is literally a trip - a journey from a devastated place to an uncertain future. I love the poetry of combining dance with 'realness', the combo of the song and the movement. Regarding depth: what I mean by that is that there are several layers to the experience, with truth and real life events as the foundation for it all. Above all, this is about a feeling that is hard to put into words, but I feel it, when I experience this video. 'Getting actual refugees and all is neat but it doesn't matter for the result.' > I think the main difference between your perception and mine is that I include that knowledge into my experience, while you watch it mostly as a visual product and judge it as such. My comments are about my experience as a whole, including the story. And although I understand that might not be where you are coming from or it might not be your priorities in visual storytelling, I would like to invite you to try to live this video not just from your head, but also from your heart (and in case you're barfing right now, which I'd understand, allow me to specify that I mean: experience this as a whole person, not just as a intellectual youtube critic ;-) ). Warm regards. PS: If you're kind enough to reply, please feel free to let me know what bothers you underneath this all. PPS: Edit: I accidentally crossed out an entire paragraph by using an arrow triggering this -> effect-
Barrrrrt I do care about background and all that, I could appreciate that. But rather than being an actual music video it more or less feels like: hey you know this is happening? There's a lot of people who think they should consider something good because it has something important to say but I just mightily disagree with that. Similar thing: I think the life of Alan Turing is very interesting and important but that doesn't take away that I found "the Imitation Game" a pretty mediocre movie since it's weirdly paced and boringly directed. The main point of a music video is to be a video supporting the soundtrack, sure it is great to transcend that and I can respect it if it's used to make a statement. But it should succeed at being a good music video first and I just don't think that's the case. And if you're going to make a statement then do it a bit more subtle, probably a bit broader. I think it can easily be summed by saying that I don't think this video isn't going to mean much to the one person who doesn't know the background of it.
Two cents from me, you said it more or less is communicating: "Hey, you know this is happening?" To me, coming from a much safer part of the world, full of blissfully ignorant people: that in itself is enough. A reminder to my peers who bitch and complain about inane garbage day in and day out. I think it was pretty brave to take that direction when they could have easily commissioned a state of the art visual jerk off.

Barrrrrt
I do care about background and all that, I could appreciate that.
Two cents from me, you said it more or less is communicating: "Hey, you know this is happening?"
To me, coming from a much safer part of the world, full of blissfully ignorant people: that in itself is enough. A reminder to my peers who bitch and complain about inane garbage day in and day out.
I think it was pretty brave to take that direction when they could have easily commissioned a state of the art visual jerk off.
this video is so powerful... this dnb is perfect for the video subject
I was sceptical when I heard that you guys made a video about refugees, fearing that the team wouldn't fit the music. Boy was i wrong.
