Hi Jehu, I have that same inverter with it's original manufacturer brand name: Voltronic. In Europe (Spain where I live it is 230V) it outputs 7.2KW and just a small correction, the MPPTs are 2 each capable of 4000W so in total you can have 8000W of solar panels. Now Voltronic has created an evolution of that beast and in the same package size it outputs 11KW with (5500 W x 2 MPPTs). The only issue with this inverters is that they are VERY noisy, but that's OK as long as you place them away from you, and they cost a fraction of Victrons, Fronius and the like, and their switching time when they loose the grid is null, amazing! They don't work for feed back to the grid but that's because they are more intended for offgriders.

I’ve been using a similar inverter for 4 years 24/7. It’s a 3000 w Growatt 48v. I hooked it to 1500 watts of PV panels. It can handle much more but that’s all I need for my small house.

these inverters were originally built by growatt later mpp solar made several versions of them in the Voltronic factory and very popular in the off grit.
I have a 5000 watt 48 volt hybrid v2 several years in use and it has never disappointed me now i orderd a second one!

6:44 - I dont know that brand, but i work with tech support for inverters. This green board seems to have 3 functions, check if there is AC, tell to the motherboard what current is flowing through the system and open the relays if something went off specs.
Those boards usually are easy to remove cuz they *should* die before the inverter itself.

I would like to see a test for a full discharge and charge cycle, while max input load and max output load is attached … that is separating good from not so good hardware if it is able to handle it smoothly

Check out the losses. As a universal practice, by over sizing a device you increase its lifespan and reduce maintenance cost (if any). With a single point of failure that would take out the entire system, that is a good idea, but if you overdo it the losses will impact on its capacity.

Try it with leds and dimmers. The older MPP units used to work great all these new clones are having issues with flickering. No one has yet to get to the bottom of it! EG4, Sungold Power, all the clones are having this issue. I have been fighting with it for a year now hoping for a fix but so far 0.

Hey Jehu, I've been using a similar unit rebranded from another brand. 3KW (6KW instantaneous) out with 4KW solar max.
The only real issue I have is that it comes with many features but there's no proper tutorial on how to use them.
The reseller didn't know either. If you have any leads for that, it would be great.

I wouldn't call it a Hybrid inverter as I understand that to be one that can export solar to the grid, as well as store in/run from a battery. We have the 11kW version by MPP Solar. Haven't run it flat out, so far only about 6500W output. It starts to de-rate when the battery is below 55V, so I'll probably never get 11kW anyway (unless it's a humid, hot sunny day and the aircons & oven are running).

It is NOT a split phase inverter. You need 2 inverters to do 240v split phase. Each inverter will provide 120v and can be phased synchronized at 180 deg out of phase or even 120 deg for 3 phase systems. I personally own 2 of these inverters and 4 matching batteries for a complete 240v split phase system with 20kwh of battery. The firmware is a little clunky and the batteries are somewhat difficult to get talking to the inverters, but overall it’s a great product for the price.

All of these lightweight, Chinese made high frequency, transformerless inverter chargers offer a shorter life expectancy and a poorer surge capacity than heavy duty, low frequency, transformer based inverter chargers. You'll be lucky to get even two years of continuous use out of one of these toy inverters.

The time of hefty transformers is over.
      Their losses were high, anyhow.
Not that i like the HF noise, this modern stuff radiates, because it effects short wave radio a lot, but resourcewise we cannot go back to the old copper boat anchors anyhow, if every house wants one of these.

I have been running my OP power batteries and 2 inverters since December 2022 full time with zero problems. It’s the same hardware as in this video. This includes starting a 2 stage 5hp compressor, tire machines, and a Tig welder. The entire system is off-grid. The only complaint I have is that the batteries go into current limit mode to quickly when trying to start the air compressor, but adding another 2 batteries or so should eliminate this problem. I plan on duplicating this system for my well pump.
