- Kiive Audio’s XTComp is a FET compressor plugin that recreates the sound of the most popular hardware compressors of the modern era. Known for its speed, versatility, and attitude, it’s a must-have for crushing drum busses, squeezing kicks and basses, and controlling acoustic guitars. It also makes for a versatile vocal compressor plugin.
Disclaimer:
The XTComp was developed by Kiive Audio using its own modeling techniques, and one of the products studied was the Distressor by Empirical Labs, which is unaffiliated with Kiive Audio. Empirical Labs have not licensed any intellectual property for use in the XTComp, nor have they endorsed or supported the XTComp in any manner.

I would bet that Dave Derr @ Empirical labs probably sued for Xtressor being so close to his 30+ year old product that most software users will never consider buying. Funny given that the product itself is an emulation of the 1176 and La2a. So it's ok for Derr to bite but not some young kid locked up during covid. Or Perhaps Ive got it all wrong. Great plugin none the less Thanks to the Awesome folks @ PA and N.I for giving kids these days the ability to have such awesome tools at an affordable price.
Hope the guy @ Kiive Audio does a really good Fatso emulation next with the UBK baked in.
What happened to the cream knobs? They looked much better
they were pretty much causing intellectual property problems to the devs
How's this different to the other one?
You will find that with the XTComp, some visual elements have changed, some features were added and the emulation is closer to the behaviour of the hardware that inspired the plugin.
So is this an update to Xtressor?
pretty much. the previous one had legal problems, so they updated the problems and added more things
Whats the difference between this and Xtressor?
You will find that with the XTComp, some visual elements have changed, some features were added, and the emulation is closer to the behaviour of the hardware that inspired the plugin.
difference between this and the x-tressor?
You will find that with the XTComp, some visual elements have changed, some features were added and the emulation is closer to the behaviour of the hardware that inspired the plugin.
why should we pay again for an update on a vst that is just 1 year old and is abused!!! especially for an update and a change of color of the rotary buttons and being forced to have the trial versions when you have to pay the VST and have a mega bundle subscription is even more abusive
There is no upgrade cost for anyone who owns the original. It's a free update and upgrade
Messages crossed, sorry, you have to wait!! No problème 🙏👍
@@abcdubeatmaking No worries at all! Just wanted to clear up any confusion :)
