thanks for this educational video. May I ask you to kindly specify the advantages and disadvantages of this vibrating probe system in comparison with the rotary paddle? in terms of lifetime and price and etc.
Ali, the vibrating tuning fork is viewed as a very robust technology. Since there are no moving parts, it is widely viewed as lasting much longer in life than a mechanical switch (like the rotary paddle). Pricing will vary in comparison depending on the industry and designs you are comparing, but the value of the tuning fork for the price is typically viewed higher for it's proven reliability and availability.
The tuning fork sensor works propper for all liquids, the limitation ist the maximun Viskosity of the Liquid 10.000cSt (means dark Honey) and the minimum density of the liquid > 0,5kg/l. If you are working outside the specification you may have a wrong mesurement value or an alarm.
The piezodrive consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The piezo receiver measures the current tuning fork frequency and the frequency shift is evaluated in the electronics.
