I’m 55 and hoping to end the rat race at 60. I know money is liability to be exchanged for real assets like real estate (rental income) stocks (dividends) gold (wealth) But, what is it with bitcoin? I'd love to diversify my $200k portfolio for rapid growth.
look at the charts, bitcoin has outperformed every stock and banking product ever developed even after multiple pullbacks over the last decade. not a financial advisor but I know what i'm saying
The key is diversification. Personally, I delegate my day-to-day investing to a license advisor, cos my job doesn't permit the time to analyze stocks myself and thankfully, my portfolio has now 5X in 5 years, just about 10% shy of $1m. Stay motivated friends.
@@iam_maryanne i'm blown away! mind sharing more info please? i am a young adult living in Miami where i've encountered several millionaires and my goal is to become one as well ..

I think there is another factor that is driving up grocery costs. Food delivery. Walmart and other major grocery providers are subsidizing the build out of their delivery operations. I believe the increase in grocery prices is helping cover the costs of free delivery/pickup.

The only American who won't acknowledge this Administration's failed economic policies is Joe Biden. "Shrink-flation' is the least of our worries compared to rising rents and stagnant wages, but it is an undeniable indicator of how bad our inflation has gotten. I have $100k that i like to invest in a non-retirement account, any advice on that?
I would avoid index funds, mutual funds, and specific stocks for the time being. Right now, the best option is a fixed income of five percent. Put money aside for the times when the market really starts to bounce back.

Great questions, painfully inarticulate answers. Bitcoin has some uses BUT it will not eliminate greed, fear, ignorance or stupidity. Plenty of booms, busts, suffering and inequality pre the FED and money printing, that’s just human nature.
Suggest more to the point Natalie: When somebody gets into power, will they continue to debase the currency, regardless of their understanding of BTC? Thing is, they always do.
I don't understand why most people don't draw the connection between prices and currency supply. I'm in my 30s and figured that out when I was 19, and I was coming from an ostensibly liberal (which at the time was associated with the left) household.
Parker is usually awesome. In this interview I think her smile scrambles his concentration. Understandable but unfortunate. But still a lot of great insights!
What is to stop bitcoin on the main chain from being squeezed out of being used in any transaction as credit derivatives take its place due to the costs associated with moving on the main chain? And then if almost nobody is settling on the main chain why would miners continue to stand ready to solve a hash? It generally happens very slowly, but credit and derivatives replace real money. then when the music stops and its clear that the real money cant support the credit claims, leaders will remove real money from the system and then back to fiat. If its too costly to interact with bitcoin on chain, although small circles of people will use Lightning, why would anyone hold and use actual bitcoin...other than a few people out of principle? The large institutions that hold your bitcoin and transact over lightning may not have as much bitcoin as claimed (fractional reserve banking) leading the world down the same path as before
Who is actually analyzing and stress testing bitcoin node and miner implementations? This may be one good thing that governments can do, but not only government. Private and public should compare notes.
Taxation is theft. Not necessarily. If society agrees to have basic rules such as private propert, no stealing, no killing, no damaging others property...then those that have discovered something of vital human importance have the system to owe for that ability to discover such thing. If they had to worry about killing, stealing, etc then that discovery likely would not have been found. The question is to what degree is owed to society? This would depend on the availabilty and importance of the discovery. The discovey of antibiotics. Should the inventor have 100% full rights to the antibiotic or any other types that come about? How should such discoveries be priced? Is there enough for all people in any amount? So to make a blanket statement of taxation is theft seems incorrect and reckless. Should all information be free but the work and resources be market based? Should there be a limit on the amount of raw resources that a small group of people can own?
Maybe the answer to this is, sure we have opportunity because of some basic laws but we all agree to these basic laws so we all have equal opportunity (under this law but not equal opportunity in life as we all have different health, skills, etc...and there is no way to level this field unless we can occupy the same place in space and time) and therefore do not owe anything to society. However it's generally in self interest to share and collaborate.
How can any politician say the economy is good when we still have 7t on the balance sheet, pure inflation. Like handicap in golf, let’s see what the economies score is when the bal sheet is 1t.

People can go anywhere with their Bitcoin. If any government bans it, then they will cause brain drain and erode their tax base by chasing out wealthy people. Banning it also doesn’t solve their fiat debt and debasement problem.
