Destiny 2 has some of the best gunplay of any video game out there. However, with the vast array of weapons to choose from, Bungie has a hard time making sure that everything stays balanced. Whilst there will always be metas, some weapons were far stronger than Bungie ever intended. Take a trip down memory lane, as we rank the most broken PvP weapons in the history of Destiny 2. Enjoy!

Jotunn is a weapon good against average-below average playerbase. Once you get a certain skill, Jotunn is not nearly a threat to you.
@OthersideSparrow iv only been on pc for a 2 years now. Prior to that I played console. Xbox one. A considerably different experience playing against. It was a PROBLEM on console
@@OthersideSparrowI agree, I rarely die to that gun. As a sweat having good movement and reticle placement facing a jotuun is nothing. Fun to use tho. No hate.
@@jc_yadiggI play on console and I rarely see it now but definitely not as crazy bro, no offense but might a skill issue if you have good movements you can easily out play it.
For a brief period right after Lorentz driver came out, the exotic perk would give you wallhacks, along with basically free headshots, I’m surprised it’s not in the cheating category.

I got 360 no scoped by a guy who didn’t even know I was there and that’s when I knew it was brokkeeeen

Show of hands: who else was there for the entire SEASON that Vex was broken, and every single match of trials or comp was ran by 3 stacks of Vex + Fractethyst
Particle Deconstruction, free damage for hitting 5 shots on a 390 auto rifle.
They MASSIVELY nerfed jotunns tracking it was like truth levels of tracking
Putting immortal in good enough for a youtube title is criminal. Everyone was using that gun regardless if they had peacekeepers on, you couldn't get into a trials game without at least 4 immortals, and that continued for a whole season before bungie even looked at it for a nerf.
It wasn't cheating though it was literally an smg lol middle of broken is perfectly fine for it. I'm sure people who got destroyed think it's cheating but that's about it
@@Lowns_300 you could say that about every gun in the cheating category, it had a lower TTK than most guns at the time. Look at every youtube or streamer, everyone was using it at the time. Not to mention its not even in the middle of broken, an SMG would out range most hand cannons and AR's.
@@PROTOTYPZI agree with you, it doesn’t have cheating perks to it but the fact that EVERYONE had it on, with peacekeepers or not, PvP sweat or not that things TTK was crazy definitely target lock helped but that gun was crazy. Overall smg go crazy and outgunned AR and HC until this season.
@PROTOTYPZ just because something can have a good ttk doesn't make it broken lmao most people are trash with it and have a .8 kd. It wasn't broken enough that the lower players were seriously benefiting at all
@@Lowns_300 when it out ranges AR's and HC and has a lower TTK than those at further ranges, def makes it broken. Thats because shitty players coudln't even get it. I'm talking about the Adept version with minimum 70+ range and with my role it had 80+ range lasering people from cross the map. Some even getting to 90+ range, with proper rolls. Go back and watch any trials gameplay during that time and tell me if you see any other gun being used. Not to mention this is the most liked comment on the video, it seems that I'm not the only one who seems to think that. You have your opinion Ill have mine, but I most people seem to agree with mine.

@@jc_yadiggD2 has always been an aim assist heavy game, but dmt with catalyst pre nerf felt like I was hacking. Just one trials match and it clearly, not just perhaps or some of the time, but it clearly should not have been allowed in crucible in that state.

I like felwinter but dude there are better shotty out there like matador and conditional finality. And remember that the video is about most broken and their respective metas so something that felwinter does not have.. it’s good but has had no meta dedicated to this shotty

Jotunn wasnt ever an abused metahh, but when the tracking actually worked it was VERY broken. I went flawless with it as a little noob in my first ever week of trying trials. Which was back when i couldnt get a kill with ANY other weapon in pvp. Id say broken for sure. I had no rights to that flawless haha
You can tell Jake doesn't play 6s lol. These weapons places on here may not have been broken in 3s but in 6s some of these were crazy broken
I agree but as a PvP sweat myself and like other streamers 3v3 is what really matters since that playlist is more of a skill/sweat playlist… it’s where the majority of their content is based on so I get Jake’s perspective
Remember gettin in an argument with jake. Cause he was complaining about how op fighting lion was in year 1 d2. I told him to use it for a few games n if he could get a we ran id agree. He wouldnt even try. Now he says you have to be good with it... think my man has dementia at this point

Jake obviously forgetting telesto trials weekend when it had 0 damage drop off, and literally if you weren't using telestp, you lost. It was the top kills weapon in trials that weekend by a metric fuck ton.
Yeah, that was a fun, yet horrible weekend, and pairing it with Cauldron was probably one of the worst maps they could’ve done it on too.
Telesto dosent have damage drop off???? Its a fucking needler that shoot sticky projectile that explodes on contact. If they put damage drop off on my telesto, yall explosive round should do too.

Fel winters was crazy good when they locked it away an buffed shotguns the shotgun was top ter for awhile. But it was the circumstances not really the weapon. I also disagree on the jotunn that thing was binding around corners lol

I'm just like almost a month start using TLW and fuck this gun gives you emotions every gun fight, in one he the best, the king, the kill chaining head laser beam, in second trash which can just refuced to registered almost all magazine.
This guy need definitely catty with boost of stability and range, and maybe some perk which provide more accuracy like offhand strike.

Lorentz had walls and could one shot body with perk, immortal with rangefinder target lock never lost to any gun at any range no matter what character you played, and dead messenger with arc lock should be broken enough for a UA-cam title. Other than that I don’t have any large disagreements
I know you’re joking about last word but season 17-18 it was mapping with hip fire….glad it got a massive range nerf.

What everyone needs to remember is that Jake here is speaking of trials. While jötuun was annoying as hell in casual PvP and gambit but not sure it was used as much in comp/trials
When I used to play d1 competitively in scrims/tourneys/top ranked crucible and vex dropped, it actually ruined the game. It was unplayable

I missed the season Felwinter’s dropped.
Then finally got my hands on it after a year of using ”poor people shotguns”.
First time using it I felt dirty and ashamed because of how unfair it was.
It was at a minimum broken.
Compared to any other shotgun in the game it was essentially cheating.
Nothing was even close.
It should’ve been a sweet moment for me when I finally got it, but all I felt was disgust with myself.
Dead messengers was only "meta" when slide nuke warlock melee was there
The toster was massively busted you could shoot in the general direction and kill someone in pvp
Sword hilt / emote peeking entire games never peeking, until you got a super. The meta that made me stop playing the game
I think dead messenger was a cheater level one specifically in momentum because of the coverage and that it could one-shot.

The toaster has been broken since it came out. It literally hooks around objects meant to hit your teamate, but hits you. I time jumps correctly all the time and still die

The linears + either Citan’s or Khepri’s Was, in my opinion, one of the worst metas we have ever been in, same with the LoW + Omni meta, those were some dark times, and I’m glad we are past it. Pretty accurate list here, although if I had to change anything, I would probably move immortal to Broken, cuz the thing was actually broken for so long, and along with peacekeeper arc titans, you were pretty much screwed if they knew how to use it.

The contradiction for vex is insane when it firsy dropped you literally couldn't compete at all the same way we couldn't deal with Luna's. That's why they got nerfed at there best they are completely broken

I’ve been getting messages the last couple days saying nice cheats since I’ve been using knucklehead and piece of Mind
Last word should be higher bc on top of there currently being at least one in every lobby (main pvp weapon for a noteworthy amount of players) SINCE it came out, there was a time at the height of hc meta where it hands down dominated for ttk. Palindrome was up there for its clap at long range, however... you still had to aim pali. If it came to close quarters between pali and LW, LW won every time. Mid range battles LW still had the advantage bc again, you did not have to aim, so it really just went to the better player for the most part... but a lot of palindrome users were early on the illegal aim bots that bungo had to formally ban.
Let me rephrase that: at the height of the pali meta, THE pali meta, last word still steamrolled, and you had to literally CHEAT to have the upper hand against it with the popular meta hc... read that again. The Word is undeniably worthy of the cheating category.

Outbreak in d2 was FUCKED. It got nerfed very quickly. Similar with 120’s with rampage aka igneous
I cant believe he didn't keep Erentil as cheating, i had to retire mine with over 30.000 kills on it and that was 6 years ago or something like that, regularly i could kill three people with one shot!!!

Vex was not good when it came out. They buffed it a ton in the next season which was a long one and then nerfed it. It probably was the best 6's weapon in one of the most balanced sandboxes we've had.

No, it has the same TTK as a 140 but it can't peek shoot. It also has a very small mag but it does reload on kills and grant health. You only get 8 bursts per mag. I used it for awhile but 140 Hand Cannons are just better. It's a low zoom pulse but it gets beat by any high impact pulse in ttk. Even with the catalyst the range is only 31.5 meters. Any decent roll on a 140 should easily beat that and for a pulse it's pathetic range. It flinches like crazy but flinch is getting nerfed.
Hard light???, when autos wernt bugged at all and if you were using hard light you wasn’t winning
