Hi April I was just wondering if you got your timing adjusted to your satisfaction? There's two techniques that (easiest 1st) used in the past that seem to work okay. The first one is tighten down the distributor just enough so you can still move it but it doesn't move on its own and then drive it down the road and adjust it to where it runs best. The second way to do it is actually to do the kind of the same thing but put the van and drive and power brake it. ( this is done by accelerating the van with the brake on so but make sure that the van doesn't move) while power breaking then back of the timing off so that the motor will ping. Aka spark knock. Then turn the distributor back when it just doesn't ping and then tighten it down. On a carburetor motor we used to unhook the vacuum line from the distributor and then block the vacuum line off going to the carburetor. I'm not really sure how that will work with a TBI motor since carburetor motors are a little different. I hope this information helps.

So what caused it to be fixed? I’m having the same problem! New fuel pump too and you can hear it engage so it has to be a spark issue
