There is a good video on the matter. Ross Byrne was trying to put himself in position for the dropgoal but either he was needed in a ruck either Gibson-Park when towards the sideline. Never had a clear opportunity except on the penalty they had at 75'

This felt like vindication for all the French fans who thought Porter should have been carded for that tip tackle vs Toulouse. Not saying Leinster did not deserve to be in the final but that was a blatant injustice.

Ref was alright in the game overall and you can’t blame La Rochelle for doing what they did in the last 2 mins when Leinster did it in the 20 mins before that when they were ahead. Leinster got too cocky trying to score a try when they were in perfect position to kick a drop goal for 2 mins before their prop went totally stupid. And don’t mention Ireland and their win in 6N. We’ll see what happens at the RWC when both teams meet in QF.
Porter and Leinster in general always get away with serious offenses. Porter broke Retallics jaw last year and no red for that poor tackle. Can't wait for WC when Ireland get nailed.

These last minutes were breathtaking in term of intensity and scenario. But La rochelle power and comeback were deserved and rewarded. Byrne could have tried a drop, but he didn't seem confident or brave enough.
Ps: i didn't remember Leinster crowd dared to boo an unconscious player on the ground, and that Ringrose complained about the red despite the obvious danger of the fault...
I cant remember Irish fans to boo the kicker. They lost their humility big time since several years

Lacks context. LAR had been taking 2/3 minute injury breaks the whole game which largely looked to be designed to give their big men a rest and slow the game down. At one point Skelton was down and changing straps etc. The crowd were already fed up with it. I was there and everyone thought it was another simulation until they showed the replay. I think as well given they had just had a yellow for contact with the head, asking the ref for consistency is far from Ringrose.
@@Neil1984 Danty was not red carded because Pepper consider that he has mitigation (he said that to Ringrose when he gave the yellow and said "no mitigation here" when Ringrose asked for a yellow too). Agreed or not Pepper consider that Danty/Doris had a chest impact first so lower degree of danger
@@Neil1984 The injuries and cramps were real and while the LAR players were taking the breaks you could see Leinster players being taken cared of all the same. Taking a break in such situation is normal and if the Leinstermen considered it wise to not take them when needed that's their mistake. The public was simply childish and biased.

We were so pleased with the result! Bravo La Rochelle! 2 Stars now. There are many respectful Rugby players out there including some Irish players. Since we followed the Six Nations, we noticed that Leinster, Lowe No 11 is a dirty player. Hope to not see him at the World Cup unless he changes his attitude to play clean.

Leinster missed an opportunity on the blindside of the ruck at 9:04... lock forward pick and go against the 10 is a try all day that far out from the try line with a wing on the outside to spare.
I will never understand why Leinster didn't attempt a drop kick.
With that little time to go, that would've given them so much better chances to win than desperately going for a try.
Squidge has a good video, and he covers this. You can actually see Ross is trying to set up pods to get in position for a DG, but a few things are happening - ball is in play for quite a bit so he and JGP never get a chance to align on this. As a result JGP keeps playing quick ball out to the wider channels. Almost works, as Baird had an easy try on 76 minutes if JGP popped the ball to him on the blindside. Secondly, LaR were making mince meat of the contact area and RB got sucked in to a few rucks, negating his ability to set anything up. Chalk it down to Leinster not being in that position very often. Oddly enough, I think the try was on until Ala red card. Another phase or two and LaR would have broken I think. But RB was trying to set something up, but him and JGP were just on different pages. You then see when break in play for LaR player down, RB gathers the players and is clearly telling them what they need to do but then the red comes and that's the game.

For me, the turning point, is the bad choice of JGP at @8:52 He could have easily played a short pass on the left corner. But lucidity is not always here around 78th minute
@zisssssou yeah, I think it's a situation they don't find themselves in often and the more familiar route was carrying. As you say, some poor decision making under pressure from.a fantastic LaR team. It was a great game and a pleasure to watch.

@@styx2470He was blocking Skelton in an illegal position in case someone would carry the ball to the short side, you could call that cheating. Irish players are masters in these kind of actions, always slowing down defenders by lingering in their channels, holding players on the ground, holding players around the rucks, tackling the tacklers...
They just find every way possible to disrupt the other players work and I guess as long as they get away with it we could say it's well played.

Au rugby il faut respecter l'adversaire avant et pendant le match , honte au public qui siffle un joueur à terre inconscient suite un un coup de tête volontaire d'un joueur de Leinster , que l'équipe d'Irlande pardon , du Leinster en prenne acte à l'avenir .
En plus le gros babar à la jambe tatoué a également joué salement sur cette action, il y a 2 joueurs du Leinster qui portent un coup à la tête mais un seul reçoit le rouge. Si on y a joute la saloperie quasi permanente de Lowe et le manque de respect général précédant ce match la victoire n'en est que plus belle et la leçon que plus édifiante.
