Excellent it reminds me of my childhood. Now at 62yrs these musical set up still tickles my soul. The musician are dead but there talents are unbeatable RIP good people
This music reminds me of my schools days at a boarding school in Uganda. Colonel Bangala was one of my favourite. Thanks for reuniting us with our favourite songs 👌👌👌❤️
Fantastic - absolutely fantastic. This piece inspired Nuta Jazz Band of Tanzania when they came up with 'Azimio' in praise of Arusha Declaration in 1968. With fondest memories of a bygone era...Asante sana! produced
Lovely, this song reminds me school days, I was in class six, my cousin had a record player, we would sneak at night, and join the dancing groups. I am now seventy, but the music is still as beautiful as if it was just released yesterday. The arrangement of the instruments is superb.
This song ,Tinton, course au pouvoir and many more were my favorites and still are . In Ghana 🇬🇭 my country , in my secondary school days i never got tired listening to these songs even though i didn't understand a word . Africa is music and music is Africa with natural ❤ for one another . Rise up Africa and shine . Say no to the selfish politicians who are still selling Affrica to Chinese .
Yes good music is always good it reminds me of songs such as zongazonga, petewapete Pete wakibushi and many more please let me hear the best favourite for me zongazonga and petewapete
Thank you Mr.. Siddikh for your continued good work to make the old Congolese musicians available however I would if you could provide the work of other artists as well who were good but are almost forgotten now, ie Le'Orchestre Kongo Vox, Le' Orchestre Manta, Le' Orchestre Bantou de la Capitale, Negro a Paris, Negro Success and many more.
Extraordinary! Simply a brilliant performance. It is what God has given us. Let's cherish and preserve it for the future generation if we care who we are. Many new years cheers! Bo!
I started following these musicians when i was 8 years old and have never stopped the following despite so many new entrants who eventually left and have been forgotten. everything of OK jazz was perfectly thought out and performed.
The 60's saw the advent of Government issued short wave radios, to civil servants for flexible payment. With these radios, we gained access to Radio Brazzaville which aired all of these beautiful Congolese gems of music, which are still considered to be the best in the world. I can not turn back the clock, because I still enjoy them as I did in the past. Long live the contributors who put them on UA-cam and I thank you immensely.
You are right. Everyone thinks that his "era" was the best. There is no bad music. Things are just different. Different era, different taste. It may be true that too much "mabanga" may be spoiling. But I know a song of Nico (1967) that contains 42 mabanga.
I 100% concur with Jean Purvis. Those musicians were great such that in their show you could see all instrumentalists as they play. There was nothing like mixing music using computers. Music was real, enjoyable, fulfilling emotional and uniting. Imagine how this music was contagious- you hear it today, tomorrow you are sick with it.
Losako ndéko, la phrase que vous venez d'écrire est un proverbe dans ma langue maternelle : "mundele azalaka mayele depuis ebandeli ya mokili". Moto moyindo nanu alamuki na pongui té !!!
The majority of all music on the market is utter crap, fake, insincere, product from the music industry, like a banana on the market, produced to make money and for no other reason. This is much, much worse now than during Franco's lifetime, because thanks to electronics and it's possibilities, millions of recordings are sold worldwide which were produced by people who have no talent whatsoever. Real music, in it's highest form is art, by artists who are passion driven. Not industrial product.
There is no language in the whole world designed for singing songs as sweet as Lingala, I don’t mean for speech, just for song. Congolese instrumentalist are also in a class of their. Pray that the cavalry they have born for so long will one day be lifted.
No language, none surpasses Lingala for singing songs, none in this world. Congolese instrumentalists are in a class of their own. Hope the cavalry placed on them will one day be lifted. They have suffered enough.
Rarely mentioned in the great ass-kicking between the sax and the guitar in the original Course Au Pouvoir (33:49), is the rioting drummer! He raps and taps and runs saltos and summersaults as if he were some mad ran-away conductor of the devil's ochestra! --I have a hunch he is the same guy seen blasting the roof in the black-white video of TOYEBA YO, shocking Sam Mangwana into an abrupt confessional!
Lovely display of talent. It is funny how in 1968 Kilwa Jazz imitated this music to dig at their rivals (Dar Jazz) ridiculing them 'for imitating their music'😂
this is the music worth listening. Sometimes it makes me to feel as if i was born after my time- i mean whenever i listens to this, i stays mute but happy
Excellent it reminds me of my childhood. Now at 62yrs these musical set up still tickles my soul. The musician are dead but there talents are unbeatable RIP good people
j'avais 20 ans et je suis tombé sur le meilleur moment de l'OK jazz c'était super OK Jazz merci FRANCO (la vraie rumba congolaise)

It reminds me of those Old coins bearing the Queens image and the 1,5,10 cent coins with a hole at the center.Good old days.
Great days up to today
