BAANI - Deepavaali Series I Vaibhav Prakash

The Baani workshop was an invaluable experience and learning opportunity with Sri. Vijay Siva Sir. It was a pleasure to learn such a large variety of pallavis and krithis, in various talams and nadais. The topics covered were challenging but not overwhelming, and there was much to be learned outside of the workshop duration.
I present 'Idi Neeku Nyayama', a composition of Mysore Vasudevacharya, in ragam Gamanashrama set to Misra Chapu talam in this concert, learned during the workshop. This rare krithi was a perfect fit for the premise of the Baani workshop. Accompanying on the violin for this concert is Sow. Aparna Thyagarajan and on the mridangam is Chi. Umesh Gopi.
Vaibhav has been learning Carnatic music for the past 10 years. He is currently a disciple of Sri.Vijay Siva. He has participated in many competitions and won many prizes, including 1st place in the Junior RTP competition at Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana. He has performed many concerts in the US and in India. He also learns Mridangam from Sri. Gopi Lakshminarayan and has been regularly accompanying many music schools in the Bay Area. He is currently an 11th grader at Dougherty Valley High School, San Ramon, California.
