Tyr Valkyrie Speedworks - training companion to Tyr Valkyrie Elite Carbon

- When Tyr decided it would get into the performance running shoe market, it didn’t just make a racing shoe, it made a training companion as well. It's a great example of race day foam in a daily training application that has a wide range of pace versatility. And it's a refreshingly neutral shoe in a year when everything got thicker, wider, and more stable.

I just went for my first run in the Speedworks yesterday. It's one of my favorite running experiences. I felt that I could go all day in them.
It sounds like the endorphin speed 2 has been reborn! I love this style of shoe, so I'll definitely keep and eye on this one for it to go on sale next year.
been waiting on someone to review this shoe
Agree one of my favorite daily training shoes.
These look like a great trainer-and maybe racer-for my first marathon this fall. Might have to pick up that fresh white-blue colorway. Thanks for the review!
The wonderful Topo Cyclone 2 is 28mm/23mm in heel/forefoot, which I would say is more than "slightly less stack height" than the TYR, as you put it. That's over 10mm less underfoot than the TYR. By today's standards, the Cyclone 2 really lets you feel the ground. Really, the TYR ought to be similar to Topo's forthcoming non-plated and full-PEBAX Specter 2, due out in August 2024. Can't wait to try that one! I was going to wait for it, but may have to spring for this Speedworks first. (...And then the Specter 2 in August. :D)
The white color way is amazing
Good morning. I have not seen this brand in Spain. Like to Kofuzi. Have a great day.
I love this pair of shoes
Another good video
The speed works just seems like a way better endorphin speed 3/4’s!! Don’t get me wrong the endorphin speed 1 and 2 were amazing!
Fresh AF ❤️
Bruh you're always a beast running through those puddles.
I like it a lot
I love how the midsole isn't as wide as a Hoka despite the tall stack height, I can get behind this shoe
Any chance you'll review the under armour velociti elite v2? Not a major player in marathon scene but under armour always has discounts so if the shoe is half decent may be worth it for ppl on a budget
stay tuned
How would you compare this to the Puma DN2?
Did you do a review on the Sinister that I somehow missed? 🤔
I haven't officially reviewed it, as I thought it wouldn't really come up much, but lately, it's been becoming a topic of somewhat regular discussion
Just an fyi for anyone with 2E/3E feet these will fit but are a tiny bit snug. I thought anatomical toe box meant wide like Altra, but it’s not. It will work though. Love this shoe
How would these perform as a long run shoe?
15 miles in mine this weekend. It's the freshest that my legs have felt in this training block, honestly
@@tylerharbin2476 thanks for your input! Currently have the SC Trainer v2 for long runs but I’m wanting something peppier.
Can't decide between this or the Valkyrie Elite Carbon- probably will get both- don't tell the wife
that's none of my business
Sizing fit pls?
I went with my usual running shoe size and that worked for me
Yo, what’s going on!!!
I just wish it wasn’t unisex
Training companion? We clearly left the era, when we called it "shoe".
yo we left that behind in the 80s
Man. What a boring colorway. (Remember what I said about the psychology of running?)I feel like I'm looking at a tennis shoe. At least they got rid of the big ugly TYR logo on the companion. I might accidentally walk right past this on the bargain shelf -- which is where I suspect it will end up since it really needs aggressive intro pricing to not get eclipsed by more established brands.
yeah, but not everyone wants to look like they're on their way to an 80's disco...
@@fergusdenoon1255couldn’t agree more
I purchased this shoe and I'm very impressed with the performance of it. The white color is really fresh, but you're right they don't have fun colors. That being said, I'm purchasing shoes for running specifically, not for "looking" like a runner. I'd gladly buy it again for it's fit and performance.
So buy another name brand with a better colorway but not as good a shoe? Runners these days confuse me...
actually, people like me only purchase all-white
