    Presence over presentation.
    Intimacy over industry.
    Encounter over entertainment.

    The rise of livestreaming during 2020, really highlights the conflict between sharing Worship vrs a Performance and Entertainment.

      The only true difference is motivation.

    • @DrRusty5
      @DrRusty5 3 роки тому +2

      @@SoggyBagelz Perhaps in part, but the fine line remains all too easy to cross where the production values of the broadcast could take over. One clear thing I think is important is whether the Service is happening anyway and being broadcast or the broadcast is leading the service happening, further to the latter point is the Service being changed in anyway to ensure/comply with the production desires for the broadcast.

      It’s only a performance when people don’t join in

    • @DrRusty5
      @DrRusty5 3 роки тому

      @@bayleylang6207 I might have to slightly disagree as this oversimplifies a more complex problem. If you were correct then much of the worship produced when congregations weren't present or couldn't sing we're all performances. It is certainly the case that in these situations it might feel more like a performance to those not used to no congregation but that to me doesn't mean it automatically is one. Also it is still common (within within the Anglican Church) for the Choir to sing without the congregation joining in.

    I love coming home from my local church after a day of serving and tuning into The Belonging Co stream. it's always super high quality and very little distraction from being able to worship along. Their heart and the stories related in this video just back up the overall feeling I've gotten from these streams that they truly do wish to engage with God on every level and I appreciate that so much. Thank you for doing this deep dive. I look forward to the video and lighting system follow-ups.

    I love these insightful videos. Really good to see how churches approach the tech challenges. One thing though, I do struggle to understand the latest 'fashion' of presenting to camera with a massive mic in your face. Your interview here sounds perfectly good with a hidden mic.. it's been the tried and tested way in broadcast for years. Keep up the good work though, the channel is helpful to so many.

    Would love to learn some in depth stuff on Dante in churches. Like how is the gain split between all those consoles? I saw some rednets but do all consoles have independent access to analog gain or are we talking about digital trims? How does that work in pro tools for example? Thank you!

    A lot of comments about how all of this is “not needed” or detracts from worship. Not sure I agree completely, I would just ask what the church ledger looks like for serving and reaching the community. The money set aside for AV should be in proper proportion.

    Is there truly any way get independent gain control both FOH and broadcast? I can't seem to find any answers on this. And what I mean if when FOH makes a gain change on a channel, broadcast audio won't be impacted. Thanks in advance!

    none of this is necessary. It's all a blessing, but not at all needed. This is what i dislike about many of these types of videos, other leaders saying you need these things. Most churches and people can not afford most of these things and having some saying these things are necessary when they are not could disappoint people and have them believe God is not blessing them

      Lol...none of it is needed to praise God in Haiti or anywhere else but If you have it great. It has been said that the fastest growth of the church is outside the US in Latin American and other countries. We are blessed no matter where we worship as long as we worship God in Spirit and in Truth.
      I do hope though that, with the decline of Christianity in America, churches that have these things realize that we the bride of Christ should personally reach and CARE more for the lost than for garnering the best equipment for audio/visual media.
      With this in mind, the word of God greatly lived, preached and the love of Jesus shared at its best can be simple (in a good broadcast but mostly within a great one on one or in group discipleship). The Holy Spirit does the rest...everything else is cool to use as tools but usually the extra bells and whistles are for us and for our personal achievements.

    how many meals, or shelter for the homeless, or supporting victims of crime/abuse could all this money be used for instead of more lighting, in ear monitors, etc….
    my question is how much of Jesus is there in dropping 100+k on a new FOH system…
    think of the millions spent across the Christian church globally on this stuff that could actually change lives? like legitimately end homelessness in cities, actually make sure no child goes hungry…
