Great video. I'm 32yr and been backpacking every year since I was 4 or 5, and I still love to watch these videos to find new tips and inspiration. My gear has changed/upgraded alot the last 5 years, and I make my main big purchase before spring/summer hits. This year I invested in a new tent, and looking forward to plenty of nights in it. Keep up the good work 😊 Greetings from Norway
Guys this video came out just at the perfect moment! Lately I'm really struggling to plan my adventures. It might seem strange but living in the Alps and having SO MANY choices is giving me a pretty hard time to get excited about going out. I don't know how to explain it, but getting outside and filming my adventures is one of the things I like the most, but lately is also the thing I struggle the most with, I feel like I'm burnt out. So currently I am in search of the best method to plan outdoor adventures that works for me and that gets me excited about it. As always you two are a huge inspiration, and the good vibes I always get from your videos are helping me out! THANKS for sharing your knowledge but most importantly your energy with us! See you in the next video, have a good life!❤
Like this video or "go to jail" 😅. Great tips. Making a packing or to-do list is a life saver. I use notes on iPhone with the check boxes and literally have a huge checklist for anything travel related, divided up into equipment type/activities. eg - clothes, climbing stuff, camera related gear, etc. For work travel, I have another checklist. ...ok, I like checklists!
Love you guys and this style of video! Blows me away that loneliness doesn’t creep in more than it seems to do. As an east coast city slicker I’d shit my pants waiting for a cougar, bear, or wolf to eat my butt 😂. Also the audio in this video was so good yet I didn’t see any visible mic. 👏🏼
Despite how it looks there’s plenty of people around and we hang with friends and whatnot 😅 Not that lonely. Actually in this video we’re only 2 miles from probably the most popular trail in Tahoe. Thanks for the audio compliments. It was actually pretty windy too! Had to clean it up a little
This was so helpful! My dad and I love hiking together ( he raised me as a hiker ) and we’ve been wanting to do an overnight backpacking trip for a long time but we are never able to go through with the planning! We plan to do the grand Teton loop trail in a year or two:)
Love it! We were in Desolation Wilderness on the same day. Went from Echo Lake to Lake Aloha and back. We didn't have a permit so just did it as a day-trip. Lots of great snow and fun hiking through it. And apologies in advance if I ever see you two on a trail. For me it would be the equivalent of seeing Lebron James and I'm probably completely embarrass all of us.
@@codyandvictoria thanks for the quick reply. I am a seasoned hiker/backpacker but I want to start videoing and taking pictures of my journeys. Is there anything in the $1000ish range that would make for a good starter set up or is that cheaping out?
@@natlovell122 use your iPhone at that price point. Until you’re ready for educate $2k then you can check an fx30 from Sony or R7/8 from canon. Otherwise you’re wasting 💰
@@natlovell122there are definitely options. You won’t be getting the latest and greatest at that price point but I think something with lenses would yield a better result than just your iPhone. That said, the iPhone isn’t bad either. Idk camera prices these days but maybe look into the a6400 or maybe the ZV1 or something like that.
^ Both of those Sony models are great, determining factor may be whether or not you want to mess with lenses on the trail. Biggest thing is stay in the moment and use something that will let you enjoy your adventure!

Great video - really helpful! Didn't feel like a sponsored video either. Very genuine.

Hi Cody! Can you send me the picture profile settings for your HLG3 please?
I’m not using hlg 🤷🏼♂️ have only ever used it once and didn’t like it
Do you guys use trekking poles?
Depends on conditions. Most often no.
