Nice! Although I reckon you can play more aggressively against these kind of enemies if you use the 'resolute strike' which is basically like a counter system. If you get that perk activated, and have at least one focus point, with the right timing, you can get this counter system down properly. Too often a lot of gamers I've seen don't use this nearly enough (probably because they don't know it's a counter system!) Light, light and then heavy attack as soon as the enemy makes his/her move. It's not quite a parry system but it bypasses their attack and I believe you recover a bit of health (skill tree dependent)

Instead of holding those heavy attacks you should use the combos with the heavy attacks. Those will give you more damage than a one hit heavy attack
Every stance has a combo that u can use mixing light with heavy attacks
