FV -08-11VF5 has switch for two speed: 80 with noise 0.3 and 110 CFM with noise 0.8 sones.
FV-11VQ5 has 110CFM with noise 0.3 sones.
So, the FV-11VQ5 will be much better for the volume with lower noise.
Very easy with Panasonic.
Full process of installation, no hidden episodes.
Some clips were speed up.

Hire is a new version of this installation and nice music. I hope you like it more ua-cam.com/video/gGsmkSSpSXI/v-deo.html

The one thing I've learned about UA-cam is somebody will always complain about the music choice. I wouldn't worry about it. I thought this was well done.
I like the slow version better because I like to pause and see what is going on. OUTSTANDING JOB.
Thank you!
Thanks for the tip on using 2x4 sleepers instead of the mounting bracket. Made the install much easier!
Awesome video. No BS. No wasting a bunch of time rambling on. Great shortcuts. This is going to help immensely. Thanks so much!
I may skip the reducer and upgrade my ducting to 4-6" but overall awesome.
pipe between ceiling and floor, so i can't change it for 4".
Totally understand. My upgrade between the floor is also a challenge but fortunately will fit. Thanks again for the video. Helped a lot on my install.
I am so glad I watch this video ..because I thought I was stuck with my fan because I had no clue how to put it up as it was too big ..but watching u ..i gain so much insight and information
Glad I could help!
Really nice video! I recently purchased an FV-11VQL6. The instructions that come with it are for a new construction installation. I had many questions as I tried to bridge those instructions to the reality of my ventilation fan replacement project. Your video answered all my questions, plus had a few pointers I would not have thought of. This will make the installation go smoother and help assure a better install. Thank you, Sir!
Thank you so much! You just saved me hours and hours. It was very helpful to see how you installed it and what pieces were unnecessary.
Glad it helps you.
My house has spacer between the ceiling and the joists which prevented me from using the mounting bracket. Your workaround technique saved me! Thanks.
Glad it helped!
I never use mounting bracket from this box, never.
Outstanding diy video! Picture paints a thousand words. Thank you!!!!
excellent video demonstration. Actions speak louder than words.
This was a great video. Much more helpful than the crummy instructions that come with the fan. Thanks!
Thank you.
So very helpful to see how these units can be retrofitted and yet stabilized in the newly cut ( small) aperture. Thanks for your time. I want to hardwire one in as a new it in a drywalled ceiling where a wall switch will be difficult and no upstairs access. Hopefully I can find a hot wire :) Planning to use the FV-11VQC5 pan model
You have so much skill! Thank you for posting this and sharing your experience. The fan was worth every cent and you helped make the whole install easier.
Thank you.
NO TALKING! GREAT!!!

I feel like this is what it would be like on an acid or methampheta”clean” trip with this f’ing music. Holy f’ing hell. Great vid 🥺
Wow, that was the same playlist I use for my DIYs!
you just saved me so much time thanks
Good job! The space mysterious music calls my attention.
Very nice video. Good short cuts. Will save me time. Thanks!
Thank you.
This is awesome! thank you for the install video! Great work!
You welcome.
Went very smoothly, thanks to your video
cut-out template 1:26 on cardboard next to screen...tape the two tabs to ceiling. Trace and cut
The background music made this vid a criminal offense. I had to turn the sound off just to be able to finish watching what was an otherwise good DIY installation.
Agree, must replace. Thanks!

Many thanks for this video, was extremely helpful while installing this fan!!
Glad it helps you!
Hey it's Red Foreman!
Best thing I ever seen, thanks for the help. Just subscribed too.
Thank you!
Great job showing how to do it. Thank you!
Great job. Getting ready to replace mine. Thankyou u so much.
Glad it helped
Панасоник рулит!
Сразу видно свой человек) подписался) интересная модель вентилятора.
Спасибо !
Perfect! Good work:). Done as it should be.
Thank you!
Thanks for showing me some of the obstacles I might encounter and how to deal with them. Not every DIY project just magically fits in the space given.
Thanks!
Very helpful. This looks like the lower profile FV-08-11VF rather than the taller FV-11VQ5- any differences in installation? What kind of tape did you use to wrap the reducer? Also, any idea why so many think you can't crimp the fan output pipe to fit the everbilt plastic reducer?
CRIMP can't seal the pipe.
3M foil tape for ductwork.
This is very helpful. Thank you.
cool video dude. I think Imma try it myself now. thanks.
Nice job.
The music was fitting as this install was a horror show! There is no FU@KING way he needed that much HVAC duct tape!
More tape not mean to bad 😜
He tried to use the whole roll
Weird music but a great video if you slow it down. Got the fan installed no problem.
Thanks
I watched this while taking a shit and dreaming of a better vent fan.
back ground music adds suspense
camera work was jerky at one point
Music is awesome.
just did it. except i had 3" solid pipe attached straight to the roof and new fan didn't want to fit. Took me 7 hrs and 3 trips to homedepot to make it fit
Glad video helps you! Some time i cut off that solid pipe.
That's exactly what i need. I haven't realised that my fan and exhaust hose are going to be different size. I am changing from small 60 cfm to 110
Improper installation .
You will need attic access for proper venting
No, with Panasonic you don't have to get attic, believe me, I installed this fan each month and never get to attic. May be one-two times, because there was unfolding steps and plenty room to work on attic.
Check this playlist with bunch of my work on Panasonic installations ua-cam.com/play/PL9fyWqL02lqm9_1lE7nfRTvx9u6f84Kjp.html
Not clear to me how you powered the fan. The video shows you pulling the wire down but not attaching it to the fan before you put the large black housing in. Can somebody explain? Thanks
Hire is a new version of this installation and nice music. I hope you like it more. Wire work from this moment -

Thanks again.
Thank you!!
You welcome!
Did you screw the fan box into that 2x4 you added? I didn't see it in the video, but assume that's why you put it there.
Yes that 2x4 at 9:54 was added for support and secure the box. You can see later 4 screws at 10:47
Absolutely hate your noise, it can't really be called music.. Panasonic Fans are the Best ! The most Quiet and Powerful around.. I love those fans !
Sorry for music... Thank for watching my channel !
well done
Bravo !!!
Good video, what size was the exhaust port > reducer > and flex pipe?
4" from fan to 3" flex pipe. So, 4" to 3" link - www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-Duct-Increaser-Reducer-IRB43-15HD/205046905
Those are no longer avail but this seems to be the same: www.homedepot.com/p/4-in-x-3-in-26-Gauge-Round-Reducer-26R4X3/100156850
I am glad I watched this video..it helped me through the process. Thank you!!
Based on your video, if I have to replace the light bulb in one of these units do I just pull down on the cover and it's spring loaded or something?
Yes, all this type of fan cover holds up just by spring.
Perfect
Thank you!
FV -08-11VF5 has switch for two speed: 80 with noise 0.3 and 110 CFM with noise 0.8 sones.
Fix it All thank you
Did you ever end up connecting the ground wire?
All the time. Copper from the line cable to the green wire in the fan box.
Like a boss
BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!
Great but why do we need the annoying music?
Why not install 4" loose your volume make fan work harder if any thing go bigger
3" already going to the roof. Can't use 4".
Not exactly 100% correct but , effective. Good for the DIY. Good job!
I have the same ceiling fan in my mobile home bath room and I could hear a flap shut after I shut off the fan however I did not see this flap in your video ?
I can't say why my work with less noise.
Extractor Fan Backdraft Shutter is what I found was the problem
Can you take down the fan and put a bathroom light in the ceiling??? My bathroom is so dark It would serve me better as a light.. I live alone so if there is an odor there's only me to smell it.
I have a small bathroom on the other side of the LR for guests when they stop by.
Yes I can do it.
Also another way can be done. I can instal a new switch, new wire line and light. So you will have your fan and separate light.
Get a new fan that has a light. They are for moisture not just odor
Buy a cover grill with a light from Home Depot. I saw it today.
How do you remove the cover so you can clean it.
Pull down and release the cover spring from box.
What is the 3M tape you're using? Thanks!
You can see it here : ua-cam.com/video/WyZTK0-7wAE/v-deo.html
It's real duct tape. Go to your local Home Depot and the aisle where they have the AC ducts. You'll find it there.
Do you know the proximate db of this fan?
The Panasonic fans and other brands of bath fans never say noise in Db. They used some "Sones" level. All fans with noise level less than 0.8 very low nose.
This fan says 0.3 Sones !!! 1:19 That's really quiet, you can't hear it from next room.
@@FixitAll I tested my fan, it was 58 db. I am not doing a comparison here, but the noise is obvious, especially in a small bathroom. That is why I would like to check your rate and see if something is off of my device.
@@satertt 58 that's too much! should be not more than 40db for 0.8 Sones and about 30db for 0.4 Sones
Pls help! I followed every step, even buying the same Panasonic model to be sure. But help. The old one was a Nutone with light. There were two sets of wires, one for the fan and one for the light, I presumed. Which one should I use for the Panasonic? I used one randomly and the fan would not run. I used the other, and the fan would be running all the time independent of the switch. I connect both wires to the Panasonic and fuse jumped. My wife and kids laughed my head off. Must be the switch?
1) White wire from switch to white fan wire.
2) Black (hot) wire from switch to black fan wire.
3) Or red (light) wire from switch to black fan wire.
Should work with no problem.
Wire connection episode: ua-cam.com/video/5-xIdu3HApM/v-deo.htmlm44s
Both wire red and black is HOT - don't connect it together !!! Use only one of them - Black or Red depend witch switch you prefer to use for fan.
Thanks for answering. I had the Panasonic in my hands and look at two sets of wires from the ceiling, each one has 3 wires, ground, white, and black. Could not turn on with one set and could not turned off with the other set. Must be wiring peculiar to the Nutone with light. At the switch, one set goes out and the other set comes back?
I would feel better if you did one more wrap with that tape
Sorry for my English, what did you mean?
@@FixitAll I was really just kidding actually. I work in hvac and everybody makes a big deal about how much tape someone can use on ductwork. In HVAC forums you often see the phrase "holly tape job" when someone overtapes.
I understand for this application tho.
I would advise against using foil tape for exhaust fans If you aren't backing it up with other fasteners tho. It's my experience that the adhesive will eventually fail and sooner or later fail. you will be blowing moister into the attic or floorjoist space.
It is a great video tho. Thank you for sharing!
@@illthinkofsomethinglater9095 I see, thanks for advice.
Nice video but kill or mute the background music.
Fastest worker I ever seen 😅
Thank you!
For $26 you can get 25' of insulated flex tube to run that vent out the roof...That stuff you have attached isn't much better that venting into the attic.
Why you think that pipe to the attic?
I did learn one thing. Find an electrician. I suck at this stuff.
Nicholas C66 - There are only 3 wires, 1 = black, 1 = white, 1 =ground.
The Black wire is the Hot wire,, so be careful handling it if you do not turn off the power to the fan. The white wire is Neutral is not like the Hot Black wire..
The ground wire may be totally a copper colored wire and is just supposed to be connected to the ground part of the fan wiring coming off the fan motor..
If you are careful, use wire nuts to twist the corresponding color wires together, there is really no problem here..
If you do choose to try this, the Panasonic Fans are absolutely the BEST fans ever..
They are very powerful = the move a lot of air, and they are absolutely the Quietest Fans in the world, especially in a Bathroom.. I have installed some that were in really high ceilings, and it was impossible to tell if they were On or Off, except you could feel the air coming in from that so-quiet-fan, and that would be the only indication that it was on.. Very efficient, quiet fans !! I will use no others, since I first found Panasonic Fans.. I hope they never quit making them..
Very helpful video. Thank you!....BUT background chipmunk ''music'' SPOILS entire video. Had to MUTE to watch without being distracted.
You right, sorry for annoying music.
No romex connector
Why?
why did you not use the included bracket? and yes this music.... no good
Tell me how it passable to install factory bracket from inside the room?
and this music new, old music was removed :-)
no explica bien la conexión de la luz no se entendio
Y que explicar? Cómo conectar dos cables?
had to turn the volume down but otherwise...
40 minutes of fast forward?
40 min normal work speed..with cup of coffee ;-)
👍👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹
not to code electrical wire not inside box
You lost me at crowbar.
these fans come with a installation bracket and a vent hose reducer, not sure why none of that was used
I use my trusty way.
If not for that fucking irritating root canal background noise this would have been a good informative video!
I hear you... let me see if i can replace that sound. Thanks man !
A REDUCER SHOULD NOT BE USED. THE FAN AND SONE RATING IS ONLY FOR 4" TO 6 " DUCTING.
It works just perfect.
@elevatorman013 If you had a new construction, then it's simple to install 4" duct. When you're remodeling, you go with what is more practical. It is way cheaper to buy a new fan than to renovate the roof to accomodate a 4" duct.
Creepy background music!
Yeah, creepy for sure; gives a sense of impending doom. I guess that's why I think it's perfect ambient music to accomhpany any of my DIY projects! At least this is better than the typical headbanging, headache-inducing music.
The wiring is in total violation of the electrical code. The installer did not ground the fan and did not use the electrical splice box.
Some one could touch the fan and receive an electrical shock!!
If the splice is bad it could start a fire because he did not use the splice box!
Ground was connected later after fan installation. Never saw electrical splice box at the attic near fan. All time wire goo straight in to fan. Even in a new construction.
I was replace a dozen and dozen fans in my career - all time the wire connected straight to the inside fan box.
There's clearly a splice box mount built into that duct flange. The fan would have came with the splice box. If you wired it in there, you blew past that in the editing.
Good video. The music is shit. Tru whistling next time. You really need a tool belt. So many steps on and off that ladder.
Unbelievably, horrible music.
Agree, will replace soon.
That’s not enough aluminum tape!
Terrible noise in the video. No explanation
You right about noise. You Tube library don't have good music.
Witch explanation you would like to here ?
I can make same video content with explanation, but on my view i already show in the video step bu step all what i done and looks like simple to understood.
Help me please what i should to say. Thank you!

Please lose the stupid music

very stupid music
Absolutely agree with you.
Originally was a nice track, but later UA-cam fount it copyright and says to replace it. UA-cam's music library is stupid.
Will try again, maybe they add some nice one in this day's.
