Blue Period volume 2 was so good! I love how it’s so heart warming and I agree that it has the self growth and competition vibes that come with sports manga. Have you checked out the anime/manga for Chihayafuru or Space Brothers? They’re similar in that way!
Ok i understand about the back log. The thing with Magi is that it was constantly in the top ten sales and is complete so their is really no rush. Kingdom actually sold 2nd in japan but was beat by demon slayer that got over 80 million units sold last year and had all top 22 spots.
So how was the Paradise Kiss anime? It's one of the things I've been meaning to watch soon actually lol, I really like the OP song for it. Pandora Hearts, I watched the anime for it quite a while ago, I enjoyed it and it had a great OST, I also remember how cool and dramatic the OP song was. I re-read through the first 20-30 chapters of the manga about 3 times and I never got around to finishing the series, I do plan on revisiting it once and for all sooner or later. I really enjoy Vanitas, definitely one of the best vampire manga out there, super solid overall, cool art style and setting and there's something really charming about the story and the characters, I guess it's the mangaka's special charm coming through, I'll be ordering the entire series this month. I binged all of the Blue Period that I could read a few weeks ago(online), definitely an enjoyable read, I'm glad I jumped on it since I was sort of on the fence about it. It's also getting an anime and I'm sure it will be a fun watch since it's gonna have... color xD. The idea was pulled off really well and the story moves along very nicely. Dungeon Meshi is one of my absolute favorites, peak fantasy manga tbh. I had volume 1 for a while and I finally bought the rest of the series in January, feels good to finally start catching up. Recommendations? Here you go: Dungeon Meshi: ---- Kuutei Dragons/Drifting Dragons + Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi --- these 2 probably have the most similar feel and vibe, I do remember seeing you pick up some Drifting Dragons. ----Maybe Golden Kamuy as well, it's basically a crazy manhunt wild goose chase for a hidden gold stash treasure, set in historical Japan, just the most insane mix of action, gore, comedy weirdness, very masculine men, comfy food scenes, ainu culture and the general appreciation of nature. ----There's also the fairly new Crazy Food Truck which is set in a desert-like vastness filled with gigantic sea creatures that are actually sand creatures. Action, seinen and eating monsters I guess. ----Hakumei and Mikochi Pandora Hearts, Vanitas ---- Black Butler I guess? Blue Period ------ Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist's Journey, maybe even Silver Spoon
I really liked the anime! I actually watched it in dub since someone posted it all to youtube and really enjoyed it in dub. Also the OP song is amazing! The opening to pandora hearts is so good! I never watched the anime, but I love watching the anime openings to the manga I have read. Vanitas definitely is one of my favourite vampire manga out there too!! Omg thank you for the recommendations! I will definitely check out Crazy Food Truck and Hakumei and Mikochi. After looking them up I know I haven't read them yet! Drifting dragons, golden kamuy, and tondemo skill de isekai hourou meshi are all manga that I read and loved. I also totally need to catch up on black butler. I have heard a lot of good things about Silver Spoon but haven't read it yet and as for Blank Canvas, I totally plan to pick up that manga!!
@@briesview Ok, cool, I guess the Paradise Kiss anime should be a nice quick watch then. I'm in the mood for some late 90s and early 2000s vibes. Awesome to see you've read so many of those great series already. There's an abundance of good manga out there, it can get kinda overwhelming sometimes, especially when such a large amount of them are ongoing xD.
@@SaberStash IT definitely has some very strong early 2000s vibes! Also there is so so much good manga out there!! I definitely get overwhelmed all the time just by the stuff that is physically printed in english!
I think magi's spin off adventure of Sinbad is in some ways more interesting and better then the main series as it shows all the different countries instead of a few and his rise to power. I would really like to talk about it. I had a brief look at pandora hearts, it looks good. Nice reccomendation.
Thanks Brie. Did you ever get around to Magi? Morgiana, Kou en, Sinbad and Judar/Judal are my favourate characters. The dijin equips are my favourite part, along side the politics and epic fight scenes. Sorry if i repeat it a lot. Like kingdom it's one of the series that i always wanted to talk about.

Hi! I just wanted to ask as a Canadian myself it’s hard for me to find affordable manga and doesn’t cost a lot to ship do recommend any places to buy affordable manga? Also love your videos!
I highly recommend Indigo, especially when they do their manga sales for buy 2 get 1 free. They also offer free shipping for anything over $35! Honestly in Canada, we don't really get as many good deals as in the US, but if you want secondhand, definitely check out facebook marketplace, depop, and ebay too!
Heres some other stuff that i like. Does it give enough basis for you to reccomend stuff? I have a habbit of only remembering things that left an impact. I like a mix of series: Shounen, seinen. some slice of life i really reccomend kuroko no basket (i don't even like sports or basket ball but it was so engaging.) Kuroko amv: ua-cam.com/video/DLshK0J3ukc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SadTowelGuy I liked: Bamboo blade beyblade. Kaiji's gambling series had some tense moments I only saw some yu gi oh and enjoyed Kaiba as a villian I really liked seinen berserks golden age arc and the series as a whole. If black lagoon was still going as well as gangsta i would probably stay up to date but i droped off due to knowing it wouldn't matter in the end. the fate series as a whole i really like; especialy unlimited blade works In terms of slice of life: usagi drop was pretty good if you ignore the bad second half. I liked rooster teeths gen lock and netflixs castlevania Teenage mutant ninja turtles 2003 was the best version and spider man 90's was really good. I'm currently watching digimon and dragon quest adventures of Dai
Hmm I usually don't watch a lot of the more hard shounen anime, but for the mana side I would recommend checking out Drifting Dragons since it's sort of a good mesh of fantasy and slice of life. Also for slice of life, if you like usagi drop for the beginning, Sweetness and Lightning is a really similar and fun series.

Yeah I have been seeing a lot of people talking about it and collecting it so I am not afraid of not being able to pick up copies when I want to!
