Sis your hair is amazing!! I'm black with thiicckk long 4C hair. I get it! People see my daughters (4 and 10) and are shocked at their length as well. We out here boo! 😊 Love your video!!
Certain people DEFINITELY treat/react to me differently when my hair is straight….It’s hard to explain, but they act like (whispers/murmurs) “She thinks she’s too good….” Really? Just because my hair is straight????
Tell them that you do look good!! No "thinking" to it! Period. I know I look good..and I am not about to let some dusty person tell me or make me feel otherwise
Your hair is goals! I also have fairly long and thick hair, but your hair and how you maintain is motivation for me to keep taking care of mine. Thanks for sharing with us ❤
I love your hair no matter how it’s done. It’s pretty straight, natural and I love it in twists. I also just think you’re gorgeous and you seem like a great person. What you said about people asking ridiculous questions is crazy cause my best friend also has those experiences. She’s black with natural hair and she never straightens her hair but she’s dark skinned and has really silky curls and people (white and black) always ask her if it’s really her hair and then even after she says it is they don’t believe her. Like they think if you’re black you 1. Can’t grow hair and 2. Your hair can’t be pretty or silky? And don’t get me started on this “Good hair” BS. Oh! They also ask her what she’s mixed with? That’s another one that’s annoying AF. Like if your hair is pretty you can’t just be black. 🙄 🤬 People are going to be ignorant. Just know some of us grew up around all different races and were decent people. A lot sadly are very sheltered and don’t even care to …. Idk know other people and their culture and the differences between us. Sorry. I wrote a book.
Kudos to you. I admire you and love your long thick natural hair. I have also have been natural my whole life and have long thick natural hair. Like you, I hardly straighten my hair anymore. I only strighten my hair during cold months which isn't much here in Florida. My natural hair is easier to maintain verses wearing it straight. I don't know how I went all those years, getting my hair pressed every two weeks. I'm over it. Today, I mainly rock as a blowout (blow dried) natural and loving it.❤
You helped me clarify why I used to always cut my locs back to brastrap length. That's the right length for me for hair I silk press as well. Kudos to you for managing all that luscious hair. Btw, I think your ends look fine. Silk presses are a good opportunity for a trim, but your ends didn't look raggedy, just not perfectly blunt.
So do I, watch all your videos,. Following what you said I totally agree, I too have tailbone and beyond hair and I'm always getting stares, looks, and comments doubting the authenticity... I'm really fair skin so many black women will say oh that's expected because my complexion and with my sister who is more brown, also with really long hair get questioned too like they don't believe it's possible our mom is all black, well as all black as anyone can be, lol.... Love you Mila, keep doing you beautiful,, shake that hair in the wind girl.... SHOW THE WORLD!!!!.. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOURS🥰
I have one already but I prefer to use this one. I don’t have a problem with the heat setting, it’s just hard to give a accurate temperature for my videos.
Im so sick of this toxic conversation about black hair and growth. So many other races have short hair and long hair some cant grow it for which ever reason. But in the black community, it is a toxic outlook on hair. So many black women have long hair all over the world. In africa, we have tribes with hair to their ankles. The fact that its a debate and even an argument is pure self hate and ignorance.
I agree with you that we need to stop the toxicity but it's weird to me how people act like they don't understand why black people are shocked to see long hair. Long hair is not common in black people. It's possible of course, but just not common. So people are obviously going to be surprised when they see it. It's the same reason East Asians are surprised when they see another East Asian with wavy/curly hair. It's not the norm.
I think some people probably haven’t seen it or if they have they just assumed it’s fake. That part doesn’t bother me as much. I just don’t like when people act like it is my duty to prove to them that it’s my hair. That just rubs me the wrong way.
@@zeppelin_7245 I actually think that some people grow up where it actually is common enough to see black people with long hair. At least for family, friends, and neighbors. I know of quite a few people, including myself, that grew up where black people with long hair wasn't uncommon. Mind you I'm not originally from the US, so that might be a factor as well. So while I understand the frustration for some when they think we're faking the confusion, know that some of us genuinely don't understand the shock. I remember being so confused when other kids kept asking me if that was all my hair, and if it was real. I had no concept of fake hair back then, so I was like "what else would it be?"😅
@@milami.I agree. Strangers have always asked if it was my hair. And I've been on Metro and someone pulled my hair to see if it was mine. I heard them conversing about it before they pulled it. It's irritating & ridiculous!
@catherinebutler3003 this literally happened to me today while in line christmas shopping. it's one of the reasons I don't really like wearing my hair out. It draws too much attention and curious people. My hair is very dense to top it off so people think it's a wig
I feel like there is some truth to that. When I used to wear my hair straightened all the time I never had fairy knots. I didn’t even know what they were. I have some now but not a whole lot since my hair is usually twisted. I personally feel like I see them more if I wear my hair out. The tends to curl up on itself creating knots. If I stretch it and let it completely dry before taking it out I don’t see any new ones. I know they’re new because I pick at them when I find them. Sorry for the long response.
@@milami. thank you for replying, I have super tight coily hair & for the entire 5 years I’ve been natural, I’ve always thought that natural hair is at its healthiest when worn in its natural state but the breakage I’ve been experiencing from having sooo many fairy knots in my hair is making me think otherwise. I think keeping my hair stretched at all times will help with length retention. Your videos are inspiring, Thank you.
Now THAT is high density!!!

Sammeeee I have always hated when men get sooo goofy when my hair is straight.
I have had men tell me they would pull my hair as if I would take that as a compliment. People are just weird.
