I'm teaching Shakespeare to my students and I'm needing some relevant scenes that the students will relate to on a contemporary level. This is so great. I especially like that Patrick Stewart takes on the role of Hamlet Sr., the ghost, when I'm pretty sure he's played Hamlet himself before in his younger days. Great actors. The BBC really knows how to tell the truth of Shakespeare while modernizing it for the masses of today.
after the ghost leaves we have no 'kin idea what Hamlet is saying! Too bluddy fast!! Slow down for goodness sake - we don't chat in 16th century English every day and we need TIME to hear the words and digest them. Hamlet's doings after the ghost leaves in this scene are actually pretty funny, but...who can tell when the words are coming out darn fast?
