Vincent Price horror classic and yes he is indeed abominominable....abobnable....anobnable...he's a bad man!!!
Abominable . There! I spelled it correctly. He indeed is a bad man in his own right.
Indupidittley....
Injupitertitli...
Indupeeppidly.....
Yes.
A bomb in a bull...
Good one😂😂
abdominal? 🤣
Love you, Creature Features! I dig you all but Mr. Livingston is the crypt. Thank you for getting us this absolute gem! Vincent Price forever 🦇
The clockwork lizards gizzards innards always get me; singing along as I write. Great stuff thank you. Love from the south coast of England.
Mr Price was one of my favorite actors of that time period. He did many great thrillers and a few very funny movies . My favorite comedies he did was doctor goldfoot and his bikini machine and it's sequel doctor goldfoot and the girl bombs.
i love the Van Halen reference to taking out the green M & M's in the opening monologue....and caroline munroe is smoking hot!
I was wondering if you've ever shown Theater of Blood with Vincent Price? Did I miss it ? Another of my favorites!
That is a good one!!
Right, they should show it.
Ashes to ashes dust to dust
Oh, this is an excellent film! I hope they've got the sequel (they usually sell in the same packages). This whole era of horror films is great. Even the non-HAMMER films are full of dark humor and stylistic flair. The chat should be a blast for this one!
One thing I like about this movie is that Dr. Phibes is wearing a rigid mask throughout most of it and Vincent Price does all his emotions with his eyes while keeping a straight face.
A underrated & underappreciated cult /horror movie with dark humor.... Plus the lovely Caroline Munro.!!!! A solid "OG" cast.
Finally, a really decent movie being shown on CF. Did Livingston choose this one?
Another masterpiece. You guys are awesome. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work. 👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️🤘🤘🤘
*The Abominable Dr. Phibes,* a wickedly weird murderous mastermind dealing death with surreal style! An excellent exhibition for Saturday night's *Creature Features* featuring the laconic lovelies devious Tangella and dutiful Vulnavia. Starring horror honcho, Vincent Price, a classy gent worth every cent!
You keep running movies like this and you could get a reputation of showing good movies!
This is actually a great movie
Saturday night + Vincent Price = Creature Features.
Final Grade: A+.
Elementary my dear peepers, elementary :)
Actually a classic movie and one of Price's best. This is what a black comedy is supposed to be. A big hit in its day and forever since.
That´s perhaps the 30th time I see this movie and each time I find out a new detail of the crimes......Vincent Price, a talented actor and a very interesting plot.
Me too😂
i saw this film when it first came out since i was a Vince Price fan at the time. I enjoyed the different ways to commit his murders. I also enjoyed the sequel to this film, hope you can show it sometime in the future
Yes show it CF
Now this is one of my favorite movies !!! There were 2 , and way ahead of their time . Such unique deaths...and you can't go wrong with Vincent Price, and I loved the detectives ! My sister and I actually saw this at the show when it first came out !
Awesome movie !
it reminded me of SAW,the engineered deaths made by the killer.....remember when i was young how scared i would get watching them Sat. afternoons....today,kids would laugh at that
Throw in "Theatre of Blood" and you have an evening of horror comedy macabre.
Just awesome! I think this is Vincent Price's greatest masterpiece (and a pretty good riff on Poe's Raven). See you Saturday.
Sweet jumping Judas on a pogo stick! This and its sequel have been two of my favorites since the very first time I saw them. It is so unfortunate that the proposed Phibes Resurrectus never got filmed. Vincent Price and Creature Features; if I could watch this at an all-you-can-eat buffet, I'd have the trifecta! 🏇
Better would be to watch it on your sofa dressed in a Roman toga fed grapes by beautiful maidens!
No,.my turtle Eastman is a grape fiend. They'd never make it to my mouth.
Wow. I just thinking about finding and watching this movie again. Thanks, CF!
One of The Masters of The Macabre...Mr. Vincent Price. This is a underappreciated movie.
Great movie. It is typical of what the British were doing in the late 60's early 70"s. The madness of the plot reminded me of some good old Avengers episode with John Steed and Emma Peel.
Good point, possibly, probably the same set dressers/Art Directors working on the project, a curious mix of Edwardian, art deco and 70s kitch 😍
Doctor Phibes rises again second movie 🎥
Show it CF
This is a great film. Worthy of Batman Villainy! Long live Mr. Livingston!
A Price classic! Excellent choice, Tangella :)
I have a movie request: Monster Club (not to be confused with Monster Squad). Starring Vincent Price, John Carradine, and Donald Pleasance. This was a fun movie to see when I was 12.
Great suggestion, another Great movie would be House Of The Long Shadows with Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, John Carradine Desi Arnas and Sheila keith. :)
The only movie where Price Cushing Lee and carradine ever met in a cast I believe :)
How about showing House Of The Long Shadows with Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, John Carradine Desi Arnas and Sheila keith. :)
The only movie where Price Cushing Lee and Carradine ever met in a cast I believe :) Great movie :)
Wow! What a blast from the past. Growing up as a fan of Vincent Price, no way I could miss this movie. I was in the Marine Corps stationed at Millington Naval Air Station in Tennessee. The town had a theater that was old even then, with an upper balcony level and yes, believe it or not you could smoke in the theater. I wonder if that place ever burned down. It's been that many years since I'd seen this movie yet I can still remember scenes from it. Looking forward to watching this again. Love you guys. A bit weird sure, but who wants to hang out with normal (boring) people. Hey, I reenlisted multiple times; so what does that say about my sanity. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you for your insane service.
Oh if only we still had great actors like Mr Price around.
And have him cook lunch too. He was of course a gourmet chef, as well as an actor.
I remember seeing this in the theater and it was awesome. Yes I am a extremely old cretinous humanoid.
And I am getting there.
@@audreyricci6383 Congrats there are few old cretinous humanoids around.
Vulnavia and Tangilla related?
Thats my theory and Im sticking to it..
Kudos to the mention of Joseph Cotton as a serial killer of wealthy widows in that Alfred Hitchcock picture, "Shadow of a Doubt". You will never change cars on a speeding train again...
This Creature Features episode is the bees knees! Keep up the great work!
Great flick! Price is KING!!
wow watched this back in the late 70's was a cool movie even back then
I love Vincent price! Oh tangella and that huge skeleton wow!
Movie Trivia: The director originally intended to reveal that Dr. Phibes' beautiful, mute assistant was in reality another clockwork invention of Phibes. She was Phibes' most sophisticated robot, really an android. But for reasons never disclosed, that reveal did not take place. Viewers are left to believe she was a flesh-and-blood human, somehow programmed or brainwashed to obey Dr. Phibes as if she was an obedient android.
Who needs a burglar alarm or security detail when you have Tangella. She can handle any incursion.
1:01:14 Keith Moon was said to be watching this film when he passed. This was likely the last song he heard.
Wow, I didn't know that about Keith Moon (legend) I do know that he got his girlfriend to make him roast lamb in the middle of the night he died...
If you show these movies one at a time, I'm gettin' "Good Phibe-rations".
Hahaha Price-less comment!
Vincent Price....enough said. This is a worthwhile movie.
Theater of Blood was also a British horror classic of Vincent Price
Outstanding Price film. First watched it on a Saturday afternoon matinee. Phibes has always had a special place in my cinema favorites. They made a sequel. Doctor Phibes rises again. Hope you play it too. They had a third movie planned. The Brides of Doctor Phibes, but it never got off the ground.
Shame they didn't make the third... 😢
I am late to the game, but this is one of my favorite Vincent Price movies growing up. Blass you for having it available for me to watch. Love your show, keep up the fantastic work 😂❤
What a tragic end for Terry Thomas. This Price film is probably my second flavorite to Theatre of Blood which is said to have been Price's favorite as well.
He must have realyl loved her
That first scene where the bat lands in the eggs never fails to make me laugh... A brilliant film... 🎭
"when you see your album on Creature Feature you are a happy clam!" says me! love you all......
Creature Features of course. What a schmuck I am.
I like watching 60's/70's British horror movies for the atmosphere and sets, as much as for the nostalgia.
This is possibly Vincents' best, easily one of my favorites! Good lookin' for this one! 👍👍
Excellent old British film with some good actors most sadly gone now. Love the channel keep up the good work team. all the way from the 🇬🇧
The crushing frog mask scene really freak me out when I watched this when I was young. Great movie.
Same
Poor Livingston takes a beating lol
We LOVE Creature Features ♥️
One of his best, part 2 was good.
I love some Vincent Price!!💜💜💜🐸🦗🦗🦗
Will you show Dr Phibes Rises Again?
It would be fitting to have the follow up.
This is the only time I have ever turned on creature features, just to see this wonderful movie.
Hi folks, you might consider "The Devils Rain". William Shatner and Ernest Borgnine. Very interesting horror film.
I have seen this before and loved it. Always great to see Vince, Trangella, and Livingston.
And I still think it would be great if Trangella would do a tour of the mansion. I am sure she has a weapon collection, she would like to show us.
Some Great Actors and it is Worth a Watch so Enjoy .
Love these hammer horror movies Vincent price is a star🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 phycomania a fab movie to with beral Reed
"Nine killed you! Nine shall die! Nine eternities in doom!"
Wait is 7 of 9 in this? Oh boy
Really enjoying the show. I just recently found your channel and have been binge-watching since. Keep up the great work, all 3 of you.
"THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES" was released by American International Pictures on May 18, 1971, and was later broadcast on The CBS Network in 1974. one of Vincent Price's better known horror movies of the 1970s, and American International Pictures also released "DR. PHIBES RISES AGAIN" in September 1972. there was something of a bitter feud between Vincent Price and Robert Quarry ("COUNT YORGA, VAMPIRE") on the set of the second Dr. Phibes movie, as Robert Quarry remarked to Price and said, "I'll bet you didn't know that I could sing did you?". to which Price replied, "well I knew you weren't a fucking actor!" AIP was considering replacing Vincent Price with Robert Quarry as "Dr. Phibes", given Quarry's two "YORGA" movies for the studio, but Mr. Price obviously prevailed, which would explain the toxic atmosphere on the set of the second movie with the two actors!
Vincent Price is timeless..what a remarkable man he was. 10/10...thank you for showing it..😊👏👏❤️
Yes, both on and off screen, Mr Vincent Price was a legend.
I hope this means that in a few weeks we'll see Dr. Phibes Rises Again. I really do love both of the Phibes movies. I will have to look, but I think there were only the two. I am so glad you played this.
PS. With that robe on, Handrew reminds me of a smaller version of King Henry VIII.
Yes, show it CF
I love Vinny! ❤️😀
I've been watching this movie since I was five fingers old. Love it, and love your choice of movies on this show. You play a lot of 70s horror which everyone knows is the best decade ever for the genre : ) two I would like to request foe future showings.....Race with the Devil and Don't be afraid of the Dark, the one with kim Darby.
Both are great!
This movie changed my life - usually I have to wait till Halloween to watch it - thanks for bringing it here.
I remember buying this on VHS as a kid and being disappointed, as despite being from a later generation, there was something I loved about most of the gothic horrors of the 60s and 70s! But for whatever reason, I didn't really warm to Dr Phibes. However, watching it again years later, I found myself enthralled by the film! There is just something really charming about it - the biblical concept of how Phibes takes revenge, the art deco sets and brilliant physical acting and presence of Vincent Price. The Abominable Dr. Phibes really does stand on its own! Thanks Creature Features!
Vincent Price, a legend.
I have to admit, when I first subscribed I found the gang segments a bit intrusive (to the movie) but now I just let it run and am enjoying the chats and banter. Also appreciate the guests popping in. Thank you for the huge effort you are putting in and the great films you are providing.
More power to you - from Yorkshire in England (where Dracula landed in the original novel and which Stephen King borrowed for Salem's Lot :) moving the storyline to Maine). Naughty naughty Stephen, we love you really.
Do you know the history of Creature Features? I.e., the original t.v. broadcast?
think he took show over from Elvira.....i called her boobarella, cause first thing ya seen when she was in costume....my gramps is from Wolverhampton and granny from Bermingham....if get a chance google Elvira, would watch every Sat.
@@LaoZi2023 no not really, live in Canada ,started watching when cable company changed channels to buffalo,N.Y. and picked up show, and it was Elvira hosting....that change to Buffalo got me cheering for Buffalo Bills...very sneaky...lol
@@neilminer3099 Yeah, Elvira was a host for Creature Features, I think in the eighties. But Creature Features first aired from July to August 1969 on a test run, and it was found to be a hit. It was continued on the air from November 1969 to August 1973, but was cancelled due to poor ratings and competition from WPIX 's Chiller Theatre. Back in those days I wasn't much into B rated horror shows, but I now find some of them entertaining. And the hosts and company make the show fun. And occasionally a guest breaks up the monotony of the pattern.
i didnt realize the show went back that far, same age as me,i thought it originated with Elvira....thanx for info....i all ways liked b movies,....i watch them on you tube often, have n.p. finding them
The opening music is wrong in this edition! I have another copy where the opening music is the "War Maech of the Priests" from "Athaliah" by Mendelssohn! VOT GIFS??
A true horror movie had comedy and heart. This movie is very funny in certain scenes but isn't comical.
Dr. Phibes. Murderer. Mystic. Madman. A perfect opponent for any Call of Cthulhu investigators.
Brilliant
@@chriswood7794 just for fun I went ahead and statted him a bit, he has 7 outer-god-sourced spells, 3 spells sourced from azathoth, costs sanity to view if he is not wearing his mask and various prosthetics, comes equipped with 3 mythos magical items one of which is a weapon, and has a cluster of 5 science skills, 3 engineering skills, 6 languages 2 of which are alien, and 4 high-level main-villain skills. He also has one follower Vulnavia (golem, she receives a mixture of brain fluid white blood cells and stem cells poured in a secret hole in the back of her head once per year), and 3 assets of GM's choice.
Zachary did the first creature feature back in the early 1960s
MY FAVORITE!!!! I LOVE Vincent Price, and Dr. Phibes is my FAVORITE character!!!!
I've always wanted to make an updated Dr. Phibes movie. Oh, what horrors I could use as revenge mechanisms!!!! Yes!!!
EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!! THANK YOU!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I also hope you will be showing the sequel
I am a big fan of Brit horror of the sixties and early seventies -- I am so there! I mean, here. I mean . . . I'll be there on Saturday.
I think someone at CF is a Caroline Munro fan...
Who better to play the most wonderful woman on the planet? To inspire such love and devotion?
Thanks for posting 😍. As a tangential aside can I ask the group if they think that the great Chris Sievey took inspiration for Frank Sidebottom from Phibes Clockwork musicians?
Could be. This film was quite an inspiration to many people.
Tangella is the bestest...
You guys are cool too bro
Hmmmm Tangella ❤
Cant go wrong with a Vincent Price movies.
One of the best!I can’t wait,Of course,often I can’t stay awake either,regardless of how much I like the movie,so I guess we’ll see what happens.I’ve got my fingers crossed!
Vincent price was a masterful actor, generous man and a great artist!
Vincent cannot say the word "Abominable"! LOLOL
Very nice!
Tangella, cue up the Angel Witch classic tune ''Dr. Phibes''
The movie where Vincent Price "loses face"! Vincent, you guys get the movies other shows could only DREAM of! This will be great!
Unscrewing the body from the wall is my favorite joke in this great movie!
I remember when this movie came out. I remember reading about it in the fan magazine "Famous Monsters of Filmland."
Dr. Phibes is totally unreasonable to not expect a poor surgical outcome of his wife in 1921: No antibiotics, only ether for anesthesia, no ventilators and endotracheal intubation, rudimentary xrays, no EKG/ telemety monitoring, no blood gas monitoring, surgical masks still did not cover the nostrils, lengthy testing to check electrolytes and renal function, and no CPR defibrillator equipment. And being treated in a British Hospital surgery theatre! .............And no drug screens to catch Victoria's secret cocaine habit that sent her into V-fib arrest. Just sayin'!
But LOTS of British accents!😜
Vincent Price the King of Horror flick's. I thought Price only shot one Abdominal Doctor Fibes but to my delightful surprise will be twice or did he shoot more than two The Abdominal Doctor Fibes. Far out
But an exciting time for cosmetic surgery nevertheless, with so much interest during and after WW1.
Vincent price the legend , the goat
Brilliant Show You all outdid yourselves but would it be ok to say Tangella was especially special. Good skits - Good props ....
That spy balloon over the Poulter Mansion is probably watching Tangella. China wants to know how you keep the pool from freezing over when she jumps in. :)
Wow, the crew did a great job (as usual) on the mail segment. Funny!
