Staples damn and paddle up river. You can go up about 3 miles with slow current and deep water. I really like that section for bass fishing. It’s a bit different than the rest of the river.
There are definitely a lot of them. Anytime I cat fish out there, I spend most of the time losing baits to big gar that I can’t quite hook into. It’s a fun spot🤙🏼

Yea! You can fish around the staples bridge for some good catfish. Also Martindale dam.
