First year of gardening and I've watched a bunch of your videos to get me started. Now 2 weeks in and my seeds have all started to grow, some are getting their first set of true leaves and it's coming along great. Appreciate all the info and advice you provide in your videos for beginners!

Very informative! Just what I was looking for. I just got my grow lights and was needing to know how far the lights needed to be from seedlings Perfect example. All was great. Just subscribed! Thank you.

Riley, This was the most informative video on growing Tomoato Seedlings that I have found on YT, Thank you!. I have a couple of questions; 1/bottom watering only, or water spray the top after germination as well? 2/I am using 24W LED lights after they germinated and after about 3 weeks they are about 4" tall. I have been keeping them about 2" above the top of the tallest seedling. They are a bit leggy, but have second leaves. A couple of them are turning brownish - is that because of not enough moisture or to close a light? 3/At what height do you recommend to start hardening them out door before planting. Thank you again for such a great video. I look foreward to exploring your channel. Regards, Ron

When do you turn off the heat mat? After they have sprouted or do I just leave it on?

So the beginning plants that are really close to the light, how long do you keep the timer on for them?? Or do you leave the lights on all day???

Once your plants grow up into the grow lights, do you move the plants from under the lights? Will the plants still grow with only room lighting?

I move them under different lights, leds, but you could also just harden them off and move them outside if you’re past your last frost date

Hi, I tried LED light for the first time to grow tomatoes. I have VIPARSPECTRA Pro Series P600 light. My tomatoe plats were strong, but pretty small and leaves were purple from below. Was the light intensity too strong? Light regime was 24 hrs light. What should be the light intensity? Thanks a lot!

purple leaves could be several different factors. Your light intensity is low, also plants do need a rest period. Could be not enough water, or ph is a lil too high. The mostly likely culprit is the light. Tomato's need for optimal growth upto 7000 lumens per square foot. Your light only does about a 1000 per sqft at 12" above. Just fine for seedlings but once they get their true leaves you need to get above 2-3k lumens per sq which is fine for young tomato's and other plants once they're an adult, but for adult tomato's probably at least 4k lumens per sqft to keep them healthy to get a decent yield.
