- Now you know... and knowing is half the battle. The other half will be getting the instructional we are about to release over on bjjconcepts.net very soon!
it´s so simple but technical and non lethal like Dalton´s move.
Thanks for sharing.
originally only used this on the mrs, my team mates gonna hate me for this
This is basically a refined Hollywood choke.
Highly refined! 😁
@@IslandTopTeam highly highly refined
MY wife approved
That's how you know she's a keeper. 😉
Looking forward to the instructional but in the interim, I was always led to believe that both ADCC and IBJJF rules forbid the use of a hand to close the windpipe. . . which at first blush this appears to be doing even though it's Rob's body weight that is applying the choke - as opposed to squeezing his fingers and thumb into the trachea. Set me straight plz!
There is absolutely no squeezing of the windpipe here. The hand is posted on the neck in a way that occludes the arteries and veins. I will go over this in great detail in the instructional. 😁
I agree with prof rob but refs will definitely call a dq for something like this. Especially because they have little knowledge of the move.
Wait for some reason i always assumed it was illegal to choke this way
Most people do. It is only illegal if you squeeze your fingers around the windpipe or throat. If you are just posted on the neck it is fine. Check out the recent IBJJF No Gi Grand Prix, Kaynan Duarte uses this repeatedly.
Is this a crush on the windpipe or is it a blood choke?
100% blood choke, zero windpipe pressure.
@@IslandTopTeam sweet. Kinda reminds me of the smother I see the b team guys use. Both in how you have to take a hand or two out of play and how silly it looks at first glance. You know what they always say though “if it looks stupid but it works, it isn’t stupid.” More power to you.
