- The bike was subjected to be claimed for insurance after a road accident with no serious injuries to the rider. The labour charge was Rs.8475 and never received a proper explanation for the labour charge. Filed a complaint over the dealer of that specific showroom.
Wonder why this hasn’t gone viral yet.
For Seeing bike - Rs.100
For Touching bike - Rs.100
For taking spanner - Rs. 100
For Lunch break - Rs. 500
For Tea Break - Rs. 100
So technically they are charging every penny.

Bro but salary for mechanic is 150 for a day my frnd also working in yamaha his salary is 150 per day but the labour charge for changing 60 rs switch is 250

8000=showroom centre a/c and maintainance charges 25%+workshop maintainace charges 25% +labour insentive for mechanic based on monthly individual turnover with tax of 18% GST hardly it will 500 to 5000 at max bro +supervisor insentive for additional job identification 2%+workshop electrical bill+telecaller and reception girls salary for attractive atmosphere+work charges.
final we are fool after purchasing vehicle...encourage local garrages by providing our countersale purchased genuine parts.

I always preferred Yamaha service center until two years back I had hefty bill in which the labor charge alone was equivalent to the parts replaced + gst. Omg.. 10 services with these guys is now equivalent to purchasing a new bike.

you dont need to strain your self.. write complaint to yamaha customer care and if possible you can send the video footage. rest they will take care.. i had same issue with honda for looting money i wrote to customer care describing their behaviour and denied to give bike. the next day the showroom manager came to my office and asked apologize and want me to write mail to customer care stating they are very good. they completely removed the labour amount for me.

Not only Yamaha but Royal Enfield also charges separate labour charges for each parts replaced. Sometimes labour charge itself will be same as spare parts price

What all parts did you get replaced?
I too faced similar issue. This is going on for many years. They have to keep labour prices fixed an nominal. I spent approx 33k for only replacing the entire outer body, excluding all mental part and the tank. Basically all plastic parts and the headlight unit for my r15 v2 in 2014.

you should consult a good advocate and take legal action against them by filing case on consumer court and seek compensation
Better to do service at a well known mechanic shop two times a year rather than at the showroom

Similar spares I changes for my bike by a local mechanic... He asked 1500 and I gave 1200.. spares all original with discount form a local shop...
After I went DJ shop buyed new carburetor and fixed by local mechanic shop labour 250rs

If u take all original parts n go to local mechanic n calculate the cost it will be 3 to 4 times extra in showroom however they tell we have changed these parts but surely not have changed
They charged me for General Service when I went for changing stator coil in KTM eventhough I told them not to do it. So I called their regional manager and told him about this. Then they removed the general service amount and only charged for the stator coil. Try escalating this to someone above them
Even in Chennai.. they will take all the petrol.. Labour charges also very high.. Don't buy Yamaha bikes .

I am also faced like this, Yamaha showroom generated service charges for each and every activity with GST, nothing to say.
Register a online complaint in Yamaha india it will be resolved very shortly. Even i faced the same issue

Should learn some basic repairs. I have a Bajaj discover 100m. Crossed over one lakh seventy-five thousand KM. Own service. Only puncture works are done outside. I learnt A to Z service through UA-cam videos. Two times performed engine works. All engine works were done by me. I am an electronics engineer having no knowledge about mechanical engineering field, but now I can do any service in my bike without going to any mechanic shops or service centre. The only thing I go for Authorised Service Centre is to purchase spare parts . 😃.

Almost every Yamaha service center dose the same
Even i too experienced this on my first service on showroom and after that that is the last service on showroom for me for my new bike
All these can be done ourselves. U just need some basic tools. All knowledge u can get from UA-cam videos. But we don't have the interest to do hard work and get our hands dirty. The result of doing our own, that job satisfaction is soo overwhelming.
Customer rights are very low in India. The moment we start questioning like this dealers like this and companies also are required to improve

8 yrs ago I have worked in this company showroom service labor used put bill for around 6k for service.
Service costs are based on time consumed (man hours) and also appearance of the client (if he has a too smiling face)
I have done many things on my 15 year old apache. But have never faced this issue. My bill always have the price of each part. And always get the old parts if needed. Labour is usually 300. Unless the engine is opened. I don't give to local mechanic as they may perform shortcuts.
