    Honestly, this looks a lot more intense/high level than I would have expected from Ultimate 11 years ago.

    This guy is actually insane. Too bad for the injuries, I hope Brodie is doing well, but the combination of throwing ability and size is one of the best I've ever seen

    Anybody know why the stiff-arm to the offensive player's back at 00:35 was overruled?

    • @HighQualityBanter_
      @HighQualityBanter_  3 роки тому +12

      It looks like the observer that made the call was directly in front of the play and probably couldn't see the arm on the back. Not sure how the other observers didn't see it though.

      I was like how are you gonna put a blatant foul in a highlight vid and then they overruled it

    is the frisbee really allowed to bounce off the observer and still be considered in play?

    • @HighQualityBanter_
      @HighQualityBanter_  3 роки тому +10

      Yes! I believe observers are basically considered air, and therefore never out of bounds.

      @@joshw604 great question! It would be a turnover.

      @@HighQualityBanter_ that is a really weird rule if true... if the observer is out of bounds.. then the disc bouncing off him should be out of bounds.. i'd imaging it should be like hitting a out of bounds object and coming back into play...

      Very true. Players and governing bodies are aware, and making efforts to spread the sport. Problem is the pipeline for elite players is HS/college kids with disposable income to travel for competitions.

      Yeah, apart from white people and Asians (mainly East Asians), the sport has yet to spread very far apart from some club teams in other parts of the world
      By East Asia I mean Japan. China recently launched an Ultimate association league thingy and South Korea I'm not too sure.
