    I just gotta say the huge set of Born Pretty powders on Amazon.com is AMAZING! You get 5 mermaid and I think 9 chrome! Applies very well super fine powder... Just no real holo... but colored with holo effect! The little pits are not labeled by color but another lady shows every color according to number on packs. I also uploaded photos of all the chrome on black polish... right on my nails as peopke kerp saying they all look the same but they definitely are not!! Was my very first tine using a powder so no where near perfect but you can see the great effects!! I'm totally in love and it was just under $12 USD!! I'll be very run out it seems!!

    So glad found your channel the other day! I've been looking for someone doing some good swatches of the Born Pretty flakes. I got some from Magpie to try and I loved them, but with the exchange and shipping, then the duties I got tagged with at the border, I'm in Canada, it cost a lot and I'm not doing that again. I figured I get some of the Born Pretty ones but they have 3-4 different types, then all the colours.... I didn't want to end up buying a pot of each type to test them out, thanks to your videos I found the ones I wanted and ordered the set, so thank you!

    elite 99 no wipe top coat is no good. when using the holographic powder you should only cure the no wipe top coat for about 10 seconds then apply holographic powder

    Are you adding no wipe top after the powder? And when you use the gel polish, are you using the powder immediately after curing or do you use a non wipe over the gel color before powder? Sorry for all the questions . This video was VERY helpful because I have stacks of this and thought it was crap. Now I know what was wrong. That silicone applicator and not rubbing enough. xoxo

      Ashley Wiseman-Clevenger Hi I applied my gel polish and cured. Then I applied a no wipe topcoat and cured. Then I applied Holographic Powder. In this video I finished by applying no wipe topcoat, but you can use normal gel topcoat. I'm glad this video helped you. Thanks for watching xoxo

      Gelulicious hi hon sorry but my memory and I are apparently not on speaking terms and I can't remember but I think it might have been on Instagram lol but it seemed to make all the holo lay down nice and flat against the nail in a single coat .I think it would work over other colours easier than using the other applicator !

      Nancy's So Fancy's Nail art Yes for UV, I cured under my led lamp 30 secs but then someone just commented you should only cure for 10 secs with that topcoat but I found 30 secs to be ok you just had to work it into nail more. Thanks for watching xoxo

      I've used reg gel top coat, but it took away the effect some. The no wipe is better for this. I have seen ladies just use a dry wipe and not use gel cleanser with the powders for best results, if you don't have the no wipe top coat.

    • @Gelulicious
      @Gelulicious  7 років тому

      File-N-Style Nails Yes it generally works better with a no wipe topcoat, I have seen others use a normal gel topcoat and use a paper towel to wipe some of the tacky layer away, I would recommend watching Sarah R's videos she shows you how to do this. Thanks for watching xoxo

    Hello can you recommend a Holo powder that lets the polish colour your wearing show through that’s not expensive as my 17yr old daughter is getting really in to Nails. I did buy her a Holo powder from EBay a Uk seller as she hates waiting for things from abroad lol and she used a Base coat then used a top coat cured it and then applied the powder firstly by dabbing the product on then rubbing but it went really clumpy and not a smooth finish so she ended up dabbing the product on with a sponge applicator that it came with it wasn’t a different colour each end either. She then applied another coat of top coat cured then used a wipe to get rid of the tacky layer as she doesn’t have a no wipe top coat. Could you give us some advice as we adore your videos your Amazing 😀Also could you recommend some tools for my daughter as she wants to learn how to write words is there a brush you can recommend please for this? Also she loves Unicorns and Mermaids but also loves her logos like Chanel etc and I wondered if there are any stamping plates with unicorns mermaids and any with logos you can recommend please. I remember a website think it was called Fab u nails who did a plate with logos but there shipping was very long so it put my daughter off a bit lol. I keep telling her all good things come to those who wait haha😹Lastly can you recommend some not too expensive gel polished as she wants some standard colours as I bought her some Glitters and colour change ones at Xmas .. Thanks so much if you ever have a clear out we would be happy to buy from you 🤗Oh by the way do you know if any companies sell samples of there Holo Powders so she can try them to see if she likes them😝xxx

      Answering your questions as best as I can.
      As regards inexpensive Holo powder, I’ve only tried born Pretty’s which I showed in this video. I’ve seen beautybigbang has one, I’ve tried many of their products as they seem good. Plus I have 10% Code: GEL10
      I’m not the person to ask about writing with a brush as I have no freehand skills so really couldn’t say which is good for that. Uberchic have lovely unicorn and mermaid plates, so has bundle monster. I use Gdi gel polish as an inexpensive gel polish, also Elite99 gel polishes. I hope this helps Hun. Thanks for watching xoxo

    • @Jeny-kx9ss
      @Jeny-kx9ss 6 років тому

      Atlanta Moonbeam Hey there, I can help a bit I think. Firstly the clumping holo powder is from the tacky layer, that one definitely needs a no wipe top coat. I will also say that all these powders , flakies etc... don't always work the same way, I have two gorgeous holo powders from Born Pretty, a fuchsia and teal coloured, that don't work on a no wipe but are fabulous over a tacky layer. So always try different methods when it comes to application and never over cure the polish, they never work if you over cure. No holo powder I know of will really show through colours, just hints of them, its best to buy the powder in colour itself if that's what a your looking for. Next, Born Pretty has some nice unicorn stamping plates, you can find them on eBay as well as many other nice ones. I've also found a lot of little logo charms there, you stick them right on the nail, really cute. The best mermaid stamping plate I've ever found is the one at Uber Chic, $12-$14 I think, I prefer getting plates from eBay for much less. Has your daughter stamped before? If she has not you may not want to invest a lot of money in it right away, stamping is vey tricky and takes some practice and getting used to. If she's very impatient she might not like the time it will take trying to figure it out, just something to consider. For painting words you need a fine detail brush, a 5mm-7mm and for stripes you need at least a 9mm-11mm. I would look on eBay for a little brush set that includes the standard 3 fine detail brushes, usually a 7mm, 9mm, and 11mm, and a bunch of other little brushes as well, some sets will even include the dotting tools. This way she learns which brushes suit her best, then later on you can buy those specific ones in better quality if you like. I buy most of my things from eBay, Amazon, bang good.com and beauty big band.com, I've shopped elsewhere like daily charme, Magpie, etc... but it always costs more. For example my holo powder from Daily Charme was $30, my Born Pretty holo from Amazon was $9 and it's just as good and had more in the pot. But since I'm paying for these things myself, I'd rather wait 6 weeks and save $20 than pay $30 and have the items in 2 weeks. A 17 yr old may better understand that waiting is good if it means you pay less, especially if paying less means more items. Why buy one silver holo powder for $30 when I can buy three holo's, a silver, pink and blue, for $30 if I wait a bit for them. Not everything from eBay and Amazon take a long time to ship though, I got a set of really pretty rhinestones for $2 on eBay that arrived pretty quickly. Has she tried nail foils? They are fun, look fantastic, and don't cost much, about $2 for the glue and $1 for a roll of foil, and the foils come in so many patterns and colours. Just look up "nail art" on eBay, you'll find tons of stuff. Good luck!

    • @Gelulicious
      @Gelulicious  7 років тому

      Ebony Painter the no wipe topcoat is a weird thang ☺️ because I'm lead to believe that these type of powders need a little tackiness to stick to, for instance I don't think they would work if you applied a normal topcoat and then used isopropyl alcohol to remove tacky layer and then tried to apply the powders so it must have some stickiness to them but you can't really feel it with your fingers. Yeah I just as baffled as you 😂 I'm glad you enjoy my videos. Thanks for watching xoxo

Or is it just regular top coat polish? I've been doing it wrong apparently because I've been putting on the powders with a gel polish with tacky layer and THEN I cover it with a gel no wipe top coat after I've applied the powder over the tacky layer Am I doing that wrong? thanks in advance

      It’s best to apply powders over a no wipe gel topcoat. You can Topcoat with a tacky gel Polish after then. Thanks for watching xoxo

      @@Gelulicious thanks so much hon I just started working with gels not too long ago I don't really don't get why you use a tacky top coat. Why I have to go through the extra step of wiping it off with alcohol or something I don't really get it lol thank you
