Marilyn had a more successful career but Jayne as a mother of five had a family. I think Marilyn herself would agree that makes Jayne the winner where it truly counts.
Both of them were beautiful and intelligent. They both also were natural brunettes, and the studio people had them change their looks. So Jayne didn't copy her, the studios was trying to replicate the same look they helped come up with for Marilyn. Besides, even Marilyn had said herself, that she got some of her look and mannerisms from her friend Dorothy Dandridge.
Yea, good luck trying to reason with people who continue to pit two iconic women in their own ways against one another for being successful blondes to blame the “lesser” iconic one somehow.
I never once thought of her as trying to copy Marilyn Monroe. I do remember thinking, how she kept such a beautiful body after having babies. From what I remember, she was also a very intelligent woman.
Loose silicone injections. Her and Monroe were stuffed full of them. So much so, that when Marylin died her breasts were almost pure rock from the calcified pure silicone.
@@HolySpiritActivated I don't think anyone will ever achieve her iconic status. I just can't see it unless she's reincarnated. The whole blonde bombshell days are over.
Norma Jean Baker made Marilyn Monroe and people say she was stupid. You have to be brilliant in order to create a character. Marilyn's friends would say she knew when to turn Marilyn on & off and I thought that was incredible. She did say she would stand in front of the mirror and study certain looks and body movements. It all shows in her performances in movies. That's why she was so incredible. Anyone who says Marilyn Monroe was stupid is the real Idiot. We are literally still talking about her 60 years after her passing. That's a Legend!
Actually Marilyn had plastic surgeries on her face. Norma jean looks different from her later years. She was not a blonde. She was pretty but I saw other actresses who were prettier. No offense. Prior to Marilyn being a film star, she was an escort hooker and slept her way to the top.
Jane Mansfield was a natural, she didn't have plastic surgery like Marilyn Monroe, but I liked them both. To me they were different but that's Hollywood 😂😂.
Jane died so tragically it seems disrespectful to talk about her in any way other than remembrance. Both of them were tragedies, but Jane really hits my emotions
I completely agree….and with Mariska working so hard to get to where she is today, it just seems so wrong and distasteful for people to talk negatively about Jayne or Marilyn…. **I was watching a young Mariska Hargitay about 6 months ago when she had a small role on the TV Show “ER.” It’s so crazy because she played a character that is literally the “opposite” of “Olivia/Liv” on Law and Order: SVU… It’s also fascinating to see a young George Clooney on “ER” and an even younger Clooney on “Roseanne” from the late 80’s!! 😊 They’ve BOTH come a long way baby! Again, as far as Jayne and Marilyn are concerned… let us all let them be remembered for the Gorgeous, Curvy, Blonde Icons who both may have played the typical “dumb blonde roles” but who were Both about as dumb as a “fox.” If you know what I mean! Good for them Btw!! 🦊🦊Foxes may appear or seem timid but they almost always outsmart their predators and their prey! 👍😉❤️🌟 And hey! There’s a famous saying, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” So Marilyn supposedly copied some of Marlene Dietrich’s looks/mannerisms and Jayne supposedly copied some of Marilyn’s! And look at ALL the famous women who copied Marilyn’s and/or Jayne’s looks/imagery/mannerisms since both of their tragic, untimely deaths… Anna Nicole Smith comes to my mind immediately! Madonna, during her earlier years-think of the video “Material Girl” and Madonna’s penciled on “facial beauty mark!” -Same as Marilyn’s❤ And the list goes on and on… I prefer to Celebrate these 2 rather than pin them against each other… even if there could be some truth to the stories… Let’s let these Beautiful Icon’s Rest In Peace and continue to remember them by celebrating their Wonderful Accomplishments, Grace, Beauty and Senses of Humor that they both had telling jokes and that they both had towards themselves! To be able to really laugh at oneself is such a gift! I love that they both had that gift….❤🌟🙏👸🏼👱🏻♀️
Marilyn also envied Jayne commenting that “Jayne had something I’ve never been able to have and that is children”. Not having children was one source for Marilyn’s sadness. Also Jayne might’ve came in as Marilyn wannabe but she was unique in her way too.
Jayne Mansfield had a high degree of intelligence. She wasn't just a platinum blonde with low intelligence. She was undervalued talent. Her body figure numbers were perfect. All natural.
Marilyn had an amazingly high degree of intelligence too. She read all the books she could get her hands on and could keep conversation with the highest of revered ppl. That's why she was attracted to intelligent men and once said Einstein was her dream date. Beautiful Marilyn ❤️ eternally young and sweet. Jayne I don't know much of but she did copy and rip off MMs look though a tragic ending for her too.
I saw an interview with Celeste Holme where she said that Marilyn Monroe used to watch Betty Grable movies to try to copy her image. I love Betty Grable and her image was more wholesome compared to Mariyns more provocative image. Both beautiful ladies. Betty was the song and dance queen at Fox during the 40's and early '50s. Marilyn became top blonde afterward.
Marilyn Monroe jealous of a copy and a poor try to replace her? If somebody would copy my looks, my movements and even the way I walk I would be p*ssed too. Mansfield never had the tough life Marilyn had and there comes a chick who wants to take all the success you worked her. Which Mansfield never could. I wish Marilyn could have sued her 😅
Norma Jean was pissed because she always felt she didn’t have anything to herself, nothing is actually hers, not even herself, she always felt unloved, and I think JFK might have made her feel that love she always looked for. I believe she died feeling unloved. It’s all she talked about in her book. It’s so incredibly sad to read about how she basically never felt like a real person, marylin was a character, and Norma was a orphan with nothing. Even with her fame, she felt she had nothing. That’s how powerful love is, it is more than money, fame, legend. But the difference is we need love, not the others. She was very smart, knew love is the most powerful thing on this earth, and it’s all she ever wanted to feel… 💔
Mansfield looked more like Lana Turner in reality. its because of "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter" on Broadway, Jayne played a part that was a direct parody of superstar Marilyn and the whole publicity machine, so the studios then being totally devoid of imagination typecast her. Both women were brilliant and forged their own legends in Hollywood history
NO! Monroe copied Lana Turner. They had the same agent, and Johnny Hyde knew Marilyn could be bigger than Turner, and she was. Jayne looked nothing like Lana Turner.
@@slh950 Monroe was obsessed with Grable, but not in copying her. She would watch Grable on the screen, then think she could do better, in that way, she copied Grable. She also wanted her physically, and went after the older star when they did a movie together.

I don't think Marilyn paid much attention to Jayne. She was on strike from Fox, so Fox hired Jayne as a threat. I don't think Fox had any real interest in Jayne's longevity but they had put her in the spotlight for a while as a high stakes bluff. Then when Marilyn successfully negotiated a new contract with Fox, they dropped Jayne like a hot potato. They started loaning her out to cheap European productions, pocketing the thousands of dollars each time while only paying Jayne her measly contract salary. I don't think Marylin gave Jayne much thought or concern, she was too busy living her own life and even started her own production company. She didn't let the studios bully her around. Jayne on the other hand got on her knees and practically had to beg to be put in front of the camera as her career went on.

i love jayne mansfield, she was very beautiful but she should've just been herself, instead of trying to be someone else. always be yourself ❤
I liked Norma Jean Baker/Marilyn Monroe...and I also liked Jayne Mansfield...

As a little girl I always wondered who the lady copying Marilyn was and why she did it.
Jane Mansfield was equally beautiful, different personalities. She also was very smart, spoke languages
Woah that last picture of Jane Mansfield, we can see all the traits her daughter (Mariska Hargitay) took from her.
I feel like as Mariska gets older, she looks more like her mom.
Mariska looks a lot like her mother
@@ComaLies225 she gets more and more beautiful with age too. 😍
Just commented something very similar. I've seen lots of pics/films and never noticed until that pic.
Yes, carbon copies really, except for the different hair color!
If somebody imitates everything about me and make me look ridicolous I would be annoyed too.
Exactly. The fact you need to imitate me means you like me.
That yellow dress Jayne is wearing is beautiful
Jane really had a look about her. Stunning. Marilyn has the notoriety and is an established icon but Jane really was a blonde bombshell too.

And Marilyn didn't. She did a nude scene to get Liz Taylor out of the papers.
No she wasn’t she was a brunette who bleached her hair every 3 days
Those women were absolutely stunning, beautiful, Gorgeous.
Jayne Mansfield was brilliant and beautiful!
She sounds like a Stan Lee villain.
Yea, good luck trying to reason with people who continue to pit two iconic women in their own ways against one another for being successful blondes to blame the “lesser” iconic one somehow.
Dorothy Dandridge is underrated.

Intelligent bold and a realistic in her situation. Clever woman
So true... She literally broke the mold... Everyone else just looks silly trying to be like her lol
There's only one MARILYN the rest are just imitators!!
Actually Marilyn had plastic surgeries on her face. Norma jean looks different from her later years. She was not a blonde. She was pretty but I saw other actresses who were prettier. No offense. Prior to Marilyn being a film star, she was an escort hooker and slept her way to the top.
Of course Marilyn Monroe, was the number one bombshell of her time. But Jayne Mansfield was absolutely stunning!
Mariska Hartigay looks just like her mother. Especially the eyes.
Imitation is flattery to the highest. 💖💖💖💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
But not in business
Until it's meant to mock you.
Jane Mansfield was a natural, she didn't have plastic surgery like Marilyn Monroe, but I liked them both. To me they were different but that's Hollywood 😂😂.
I love Marilyn and always will🌹❤️💞stop comparing the 2. it's in bad taste
It's not unusual for two women as attractive as them to be jealous of each other, just get out of their way and "get your popcorn ready"😅
Nobody can be like Marilyn Monroe, the sexy gal!😁
Wow, She looks so much like her daughter! It's like Mariska Hargitay in a blonde wig!!
Actually her daughter look like her. Jayne is the original.
Jane died so tragically it seems disrespectful to talk about her in any way other than remembrance. Both of them were tragedies, but Jane really hits my emotions
Right but tbh her daughter is truly living out her legacy. I’d rather her have that then I overly obsessed fans.
I completely agree….and with Mariska working so hard to get to where she is today, it just seems so wrong and distasteful for people to talk negatively about Jayne or Marilyn….
**I was watching a young Mariska Hargitay about 6 months ago when she had a small role on the TV Show “ER.”
It’s so crazy because she played a character that is literally the “opposite” of “Olivia/Liv” on Law and Order: SVU…
It’s also fascinating to see a young George Clooney on “ER” and an even younger Clooney on “Roseanne” from the late 80’s!! 😊
They’ve BOTH come a long way baby!
Again, as far as Jayne and Marilyn are concerned… let us all let them be remembered for the Gorgeous, Curvy, Blonde Icons who both may have played the typical “dumb blonde roles” but who were Both about as dumb as a “fox.”
If you know what I mean!
Good for them Btw!!
🦊🦊Foxes may appear or seem timid but they almost always outsmart their predators and their prey! 👍😉❤️🌟
And hey! There’s a famous saying, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”
So Marilyn supposedly copied some of Marlene Dietrich’s looks/mannerisms and Jayne supposedly copied some of Marilyn’s!
And look at ALL the famous women who copied Marilyn’s and/or Jayne’s looks/imagery/mannerisms since both of their tragic, untimely deaths…
Anna Nicole Smith comes to my mind immediately!
Madonna, during her earlier years-think of the video “Material Girl” and Madonna’s penciled on “facial beauty mark!” -Same as Marilyn’s❤
And the list goes on and on…
I prefer to Celebrate these 2 rather than pin them against each other… even if there could be some truth to the stories…
Let’s let these Beautiful Icon’s Rest In Peace and continue to remember them by celebrating their Wonderful Accomplishments, Grace, Beauty and Senses of Humor that they both had telling jokes and that they both had towards themselves!
To be able to really laugh at oneself is such a gift! I love that they both had that gift….❤🌟🙏👸🏼👱🏻♀️
The competition and rivalry is indeed rather interesting and natural. *
Marilyn also envied Jayne commenting that “Jayne had something I’ve never been able to have and that is children”. Not having children was one source for Marilyn’s sadness. Also Jayne might’ve came in as Marilyn wannabe but she was unique in her way too.
Love them both. ❤❤❤
Jayne Mansfield had a high degree of intelligence. She wasn't just a platinum blonde with low intelligence. She was undervalued talent. Her body figure numbers were perfect. All natural.
So, and? It still doesn’t look right when you’re copycatting someone’s look! Even in our modern world I see stars doing the same, unnecessary stuff.

Even the icons get jealous. We’re all humans after all.

Well at least Jayne Mansfield had some babies to leave behind even though you know it hurt them growing up without a mommy. Someone made a home video of the neighborhood and caught Jayne Mansfield coming back from the grocery store in her convertible natural hair color. She was so beautiful just like Mariska.
