I looked around and settled for the Panasonic SD 20 full 1920 X 1080. Takes great video even in low light, good battery life too. Should be able to pick one up for less that $500
LIne has been bought by Ingenia and and is now serviced by Southern Ontario Railway out of Hamilton. Most recent video ua-cam.com/video/x5L0_o7TLX8/v-deo.html
Is this line part of the old Lake Erie & Northern? Those tight curves and street running look like an electric line to me. The only thing that doesn't fit is a CN engine, because LE&N was owned by CP. I don't know Brantford very well, does this track line up with the "S. C. Johnson trail"?
Excellent video quality! Do you mind me asking what type of video camera you are using? I'm currently using the video function of my digital point and shoot camera. Thanks!
The line is reaaly not used much anymore, about 4-6 cars a week and that trafiic does not justify the cost. Also if you notice there is no sidewalk on that side with makes walking difficult with some people using the road. Like most lines torn up, if you don't use it, you loose it.
Still would have been ok, speed is max 10 and 5 at all crossings so lots of time to stop. Notice the person make a left hand turn right in front of the train even though they had started to move.
History of rails.First come the rails and then the towns populate because of the increased opportunities. Soon the familiarity brings contempt, which forces the rails to move further away from the urban centers, creating suburbs. The cycles continue ad nauseauum. Same is for Air terminals that locate away from cities. The population soon follows and then complain about the noise.
Well I'll tell you one thing Mommy Dearest at 0:30 with the stroller noticed it because she looked right at the train as they crossed with the stroller, What if she would've tripped and the stroller along with the mom would've still been on the tracks and gotten hit wow way to look out for the kid!!!
The line is slated to be torn up next year when the street is widened. Get you photos and videos now.
Sweet! God bless! That is quite a street running setup!
Nicely filmed. Thanks for sharing.
I looked around a lot and settled on the Panasonic SD20 Full 1980 X 1020.It does a great job even in low light.

They have a pushbutton that controls the stoplights which allows them to pass. You will see the crew mmeber walk over to it to push it.
Yes, that was Mark the conductor, nice guy. He kept of informed of when they were going, even gave us directions to the "kitty litter".
How did they get the cars back behind the train? There was no double track down there?
@@TroubledKiwi They can run around the cars at Ingenia orthey just push them back up.
@@railpast ah, I think on second look the rail line use to have a switch on the west side of clarence st, explains how they got back behind.
Love the sound of that EMD 567
They only go to Johnsons on Wednesday, usually around 11-12 if needed.
There is a button that allows them to control the stoplights,
“Yeah he’s clear with the tripod” 😂
"The Sidewalk Railway" this is wicked awesome!
Great video and camera work, thanks.
so weird to be at an intersection and see an entire train just chillin there
Yes, they go every Wednesday.
Long live the CN Burford subdivision
Yes, it is Clarence Street
That was freekin awesome!! Great video
This street must be known as the close call street
This is an awesome video, rare catch too! 1080p is sweet.
Great video! Very nice.
Should be running at least of all July
Great stuff... really enjoyed it.
It was a piece sign as I know him and they are railfan friendly

If the lines getting torn up will it be replaced at a different location?
you are right that is my home town
So do the crews have to obey the stoplights like the cars do, or does the crew just hop out and walk the train across when able?
actually ppl need to appreciate the fact that freight train = factory is operational = jobs
Is this along Clarence Street? If not, where exactly is this taken?
does ontario have many street tracks like this? on the west coast there is pretty much none
That is so cool! Are both customers on this branch still using the railroad?
Thanks for the answer
Hey what camera are you using, the quality and frames per second are great.
just wednesday noon ?
Excellent video quality! Do you mind me asking what type of video camera you are using? I'm currently using the video function of my digital point and shoot camera.
Thanks!
Upgraded to Panasonic HC 770

very cool!
I know that this is going to be a doub-lon-ton-dre question, but why is the street being widened? Increased traffic, or spite against the railroad?
I didn't know they could get on moving equipment.... has to be stopped for us.
7:09 Punch Buggy!
Nice video.
how often do they use that line anywaysÉ i wouldnt mind checkin it out myself in person cuz i aint too far from brantford
Reminiscent of traction lines in the US and CANADA!!
Still would have been ok, speed is max 10 and 5 at all crossings so lots of time to stop. Notice the person make a left hand turn right in front of the train even though they had started to move.
Ok. I'm from the US. Can someone tell me what the flashing green signal means?
only run Wwdnesdays about noon
ok, that makes more sense now.
Well, this is an interesting scene. Do they just wait at the intersection until there are no cars? (I mean the one at about 1:40)
How often does this take place?
No realiseation of the tonnage rolling through. Wow.
damn this is cool
Thanks, all gone replced by a trackmobile. :-(
was that a peice sign, or was he flipping u off at 6:04?
0:37 prius runs red light! badass

I wonder how 'yeehaw kinida' must sound like in French...
Brantford is in Ontario. You'll find a mostly English speaking population anywhere in southern Ontario...
Get some round-up or weed-spray and detail that track up some.
I guess even trains must obey traffic signals!
Heloooo
lol
How long is this track & howlong has it been there?
