I was scrolling through to see if at least one person felt that. It felt so good to watch the movie when I was young, but everything is wrong when I watch now. Bunking classes, flunking in exams and talking in a filthy language is glorified in the introduction. That’s why it became a cult and influenced the college students negatively which continues till now. Don’t get me started on the stalking of a girl, humiliating and harassing her to love him and he gets the girl finally. The real gentleman was Rajiv. He respected her from the beginning, valued her opinions and gave up when he realized she doesn’t love him. But we called him the villain.

Movies have given a really bad image about what true love is. In this movie, what Madhavan shows is PURE INFACTUATION towards Reena, and NOT LOVE. Women in reality likes harsh truth, than sugar-coated lies. And will never forgive lies! He even looks into her eyes and asks "dum adikkira mukham maathiriya theriyuthu?" without even having a small guilt. Such stories will have happy endings ONLY IN MOVIES! Do you think he will keep acting like he don't drink and smoke even after their marriage? Do you think he will keep sending her flowers and gifts even after 10 or 20 years of their marriage? No way! It's just the initial craze about her external beauty, and not true love for her inside character.
I can't believe, even in 2021, people are calling this the best love story. 😐😑 Madhavan even goes to Abbas's house and terrifies him, saying that it's the matter of HIS life, and that Abbas has come in between them as a barrier. Really? Isn't it the reverse actually? It's Madhavan who actually came in between Abbas & Reena. How can people be so selfish? And Madhavan goes to her office and shouts at her just because she said she don't like him. No way this is love, guys! This is called TOXIC RELATIONSHIP. For me, Madhavan is actually the VILLAIN of the story, with the MASK OF ROMANCE. No girl in real life will fall for such FAKE guys! Men should stop thinking this is love!
And look at the way Abbas let go of her as a gentleman, when he understood that the love between him & Reena is not mutual? Learn from Abbas's character..!! We Indians have the habit of blaming the American culture and praising ourselves always. But actually we are the ones who are culture-less. I can definitely say that the gentleman behavior of Abbas in this movie is only because he was in the US for a while.
Songs of the movie are awesome. That's evergreen! ❤️❤️ But the rest are all just temporary. Not at all a forever love story. 👎👎👎 Eventhough he said his correct name and proposed her as himself in the climax, tomorrow, more of his fake faces are going to come out, say, his smoking, drinking habits, etc, and then problems start.
