  • Hello and welcome to this series which will look into various elements of Kingdom Death: Monster with a focus on both strong "meta" strategies and also how to make more goofy and fun options work, because it's not a board game if you are not having fun!
    In this video we will be looking at the Core Game settlement location with the most tumultuous history; the Stone Circle. A place where you turn Danger Deer bits into 1980s aerobics wear. Get your teeth, don your fur, it's time to hit the danger zone.

    Thanks so much for these videos. Got 1.6 for Xmas and my son and I managed 6 lantern years before he had to head back to work in Denmark. Currently looking at using the simulator to keep the campaign going. Phenomenal game.

      It translates back and forth between the simulator and the table pretty cleanly. The main work is copying sheets!

    Another fantastic video in the series. I have yet to upgrade my 1.5 to 1.6; Glad to hear that it sounds like an overall positive update to this Location.

    My GCE arrived two days ago, also in a rough state that fortunately was only superficial.
    Been playing KDM for about a year and a patron of yours for nearly that long. Crucial stuff. I'm really looking forward to hearing your deep dive into the new content!

    Another wonderful video! A small thought on production: is it possible to omit or turn down the ambient sounds (I think maybe coming from the simulator?)? I noticed it the last few videos and it’s a little distracting. Won’t stop me from listening to more of your videos, though!

    Hey Fen! Love the video. Thanks for putting this together and please don’t stop!! I thought I’d give you our take on the screaming set. We believe it’s probably the best armor set in the game and doesn’t need more tuning. When you also consider being able to manipulate the monster with slam the set even adds more utility.

      If we were talking about the 1.5 version of Screaming Armor, I would agree that it potentially could be the strongest in the game. But the 1.6 version? I could probably name at least 10 sets that are stronger than it and even in the core game, the only set I rate behind it is White Lion Armor.

    Really enjoying these Fen. Good to hear some strategy and analysis from a seasoned KDM player. I’ve been playing for 2 years so I appreciate your insight.

    Really enjoyed this video! There's so much depth as new build options get added - thanks for building up to these more complicated steps from the previous videos. I never considered that teammates can surge to benefit from the Beast Knuckle! Sounds quite intriguing for momentary tactical decisions and cooperation. Btw, though I'm guessing this was skipped since it's not tactically very important - I'm glad to spread the info that Blood Paint can be used with Fist and Tooth when it's in the bottom-left gear grid space. :)

    if using paired weapons with the blood paint they dont both get the benefit of paired? only the first one to be activated?

    • @FenBossBattlers
      @FenBossBattlers  10 місяців тому +1

      Here's the answer from the KDM FAQ:
      How does Blood Paint work with weapons with the "paired" rule?
      If a survivor with Blood Paint and 2 Lion Beast Katars (1 on either side) activates Blood Paint, the following happens: The survivor attacks with the first Katar, adding bonuses for paired and deadly, then attacks with the second Katar, but does not add bonuses for paired or deadly because survivors do not gain the special rule benefits of duplicate weapons in their gear grids (p.45, Core Game Book). If you want to go all out, using two different paired weapons (4 cards total) with Blood Paint works just fine.

    Can you attack with two weapons when holding them or are you just picking one or the other to attack with based on the situation?

    • @FenBossBattlers
      @FenBossBattlers  10 місяців тому

      Unless you have Blood Paint (and they're both one handed) you can't attack with two weapons in the same activation. The reason for holding multiple weapons is flexibility of options. If one weapon is cumbersome say, a second non-cumbersome weapon can be employed for the situation where one can't attack with the cumbersome. You'll see that quite often with a Cat Gut Bow + Bone Darts or a Bone Club + 2nd weapon before the settlement has Paint/Dash.
      Frail weapons often get stacked onto the same survivor also so they don't have to worry about breaking them because they have spare(s), this gets less common the further into a campaign you get.
      Shields on the other hand have passive benefits so they're not often used as weapons except by the survivor(s) training Shield Proficiency.
      So yeah, most of the time additional weapons are for flexibility and affinities, not dual attacks. Paired & Blood Paint are the exception.
