To be fair, the newer ones hide the gaps much better but that depends on the line they are doing (the my hero figures are great agnes look much better imo)
Yeah I can see they are improving the newer ones.. just hope they can change my opinion in the future.
Kaiyodo has made huge, HUGE strides forward in their figures.
At this point they’re probably one of the best. Their proportions and the gapiness has gotten so much better over the years that their figures are just looking better and better with every release. The recent Spider-man is a testament to that. I can understand your feelings since all the ones you own are much, much older figures but if you were to get into and buy one of their newer figures I think you’d be decently surprised with how far they’ve come.
I definitely see your point but I do believe that they’ve made some improvements as well. Also they put the flash and reverse flash up for pre order the other day and I’m extremely excited for them.

Never have an issue with this line, one.. I always leave my figure in a super dynamic pose (cause why the hell i buy this much if i can't pose it), two... Yes this figure is durable as a rock, my gwen, psylocke and deadpool (2.0) fell off 200 cm with no damage (accident btw).
I love this line since it can capture my imagination when i'm posing it instantly, my eyes and soul irritate whenever a figure is at a museum pose... No matter the scale (yes even my 1/4 scale spideys and deadpool i display it in a highly dynamic pose)
I can see you are one of those who loves posing their action figures so yes, Yamaguchi is your perfect choice then!

I’ve actually never had a problem getting that Revoltech Spider-Man to get into a vanilla pose and I don’t think the shoulders are that ugly. Also Revoltech is working on making better joints and they are doing it well as seen with some of the newer releases the joints are covered with panels of plastic to make if looks nicer.

Most of your complaints are from old AY figures. These newer ones look great in vanilla poses and come with so much detail and accessories

The arkham knight i have is an amazing figure, and gaps arent an issue. Before buying AK, i did my research and i almost didnt buy it. After having it in hand and posing it around, i bought a second AK. Stands are a must with these figures, especially for the crazy poses.
If you are into dynamic poses, yeah AY is a good one.
What about spiderman 2.0? Will you give that one a chance?
I don’t own any Revoltec, but was thinking of getting that one. It looks like it hides the joints pretty well.

I got their deathstroke, deadpool x force ver. 2.0, superman, iron spiderman, joker, arkham knight. Gonna get the batman reissue and put a new cape on him. My point Is its probably my favorite toy line right now next to mafex. Especially with the new bodies.
I just open two days back my Yamaguchi Venom and I love it.!
Don’t have any problem I used the stand for the poses and love the poses it can do.
Like you said is for posing this brand….and I got the space for posing my figures and a battle state. The look Amazing and I mix all brands don’t care. 😄
Yes if you are all into dynamic poses then Yamaguchi is the best without doubts
I have the Ironman one, and its very good. I believe that the newer 2.0s are just 100 miles better than the old ones. Im a big fan of your channel and Ive been here since day one. Also, the carnage is SUPERB. That carnage you can not get in good neutral poses most of the time, but its texture is very good and its accesories are amazing.

What do ppl think about amazing Yamaguchi these days? The superman and black panther are godlike and the new upcoming moon knight and Flashes look great too.

i stoppped with amazing yamaguchi with magneto. it was so bad i swore off the line but arkham knight and deadpool 2.0 pulled me back into the line. now i am regretting that i skipped on cable, war machine and iron spider.
Pretty much why i regretted getting their spidey and deadpool. I was super glad i managed to sell them.
When i got their deathstroke, i did a comparison to deadpool 1 and suffice to say, their deadpool 1 looks like a bad bootleg.
My venom was able to stand without issue. What i hated is they released a black version after i got the purple one.
Psylocke was ok but very anime and very very tiny.
Deathstroke was probably the base 2.0 for the spidey and deadpool 2.
Carnage was great. It encapsulated carnage. Especially the transparent one.
Captain america was ok too. But the mafex one is probably better.
Overall, I honestly wouldn’t wanna go for another yamaguchi ever again.

Nice video man, I love Amazing Yamaguchi despite his problems. I recommend you try the latest figures like dead pool 2.0, iron Spider or Arkham Knight to see the potential of the Amazing Yamaguchi, note: the Carnage is the best of all the Amazing Yamaguchi you already have, try it

I understand anyone's gripes about amazing Yamaguchi figures and revoltech in general. I see why some people don't like them. I personally own around 22 or 23 Yamaguchi figures with a few pre orders on the way, so I am very familiar with their figures.
I must say to get them in what you call a "museum" pose or static pose, I call "boring" pose, it does take some work. I can get them in those poses and make it look good. It just takes a little. Honestly I don't know why anyone would spend that kind of money on it, if all you want to do is put it in a boring "museum" pose. If that's the case you're better off getting cheaper ones like Legends or goofy mcfarlane's.
Also, it's a little different for me. I can pose figures pretty well. I'm an artist. I have skills in 2d drawing, and c.g.i. modeling. Animation, poses, and form I understand so it helps when posing figures.
Oh yeah, the ones you said you started with really are their lesser figures. ESPECIALLY that venom. I have that one too and what a disappointment that was. Good god what a disappointment! But it still looks cool on my shelf. All about that posing.
Agreed, he basically stopped collecting them at around the point they started really improving, and with a handful of exceptions, they've just gotten better and better with each release. I own all the Marvel and DC figures of the line, plus the Optimus Prime and All Might, and it's my favorite line of action figures by far.
@ZedEcks oh really you have them all? That's cool. You wouldn't happen to have that Ultron would you? I started collecting Yamaguchi long after that came out. If I want it I have to go 3rd party which is around 200. Because it's older and Yamaguchi can be hit or miss, I'm extremely hesitant on dropping 200 for a Yamaguchi Ultron.
@lamonteriste3344 Unfortunately not, I just have the Amazing Yamaguchi line specifically (I should have specified), which Ultron is not included in, though sadly WB and/or DC have put restrictions on the release on the DC figures, so they're not available for shipping to the EU straight from Japan or the rest of Asia, only from the US, at a significantly hiked up price, so my perfect attendance will likely end with the upcoming Catwoman figure.

Black panther is my first and only Yamaguchi fig and I love it it’s one of their best if not the best.

Wolverine is probably the most recent figure in that line-up and considering I've never seen many people have any issue with him, I think you're judging the line on where and how it started rather than where it currently is. I agree: AY Venom isn't very good. Ended up selling mine off a long time ago due to the lack of design foresight. I also agree that the earlier AY releases were more made for dynamic posing than vanilla posing, since you'd have so many obvious gaps around joints or they'd just be impossible to get in any pose that looked stock still and neutral.
AY releases now can pull both off. 2.0 Deadpool. Iron Man. War Machine. Joker. Harley Quinn. Batman. Superman. Carnage. Any of the My Hero Academia releases. They look great standing still or posed in very fluid or complex positions. The design and approach to this line has improved by leaps over the last few years, you can't ignore that and act as if it's still functioning off its 1.0 design philosophies.
I only have Gwen, Gambit, and Psylocke. I love Gwen, especially with the Manipple (?) head…which I believe is what first led me to your channel. For me, Yamaguichi is a fun change of pace, but only when they make a character I truly love. They seem very stylized to me, with more of an anime feel, which sets them apart from the other lines I collect. Also, if I want a figure on my desk to fidget with while I’m working, Yamaguichi can’t be beat. They’re very fun to handle.
Yes, I do agreed that they are FUN if you just want to mess the figure into crazy poses that you can ever imagine!

I'm on the fence with the new Revoltech figures. The only one I have is an old Eva (those that made clicking sounds lol) and that one has gotten a fair amount of rough love, yet still remains in good condition.
But upon seeing reviews of, for example, the Yamaguchi Iron Spider I noticed that certain parts can be loose like the legs and pins, not to mention that the current figures have a single balljoint as a knee articulation, and I fear it might snap after certain movements.
All the Revoltech have the clicking sound.. it is like their signature I think
@@DCSG81 Not the new ones methinks, I don't have any so I really can't speak for the owners, but based on reviews I don't hear clicking sounds from the ratchets. One example is, again, the AY Iron Spider.
Then again, I don't have the current Revoltech figures so I can't tell.
If we are being fair your using figures from 2016-2018 which are 5-7 years old when AY first started
You are right.. maybe I’ll try to get one of their latest.. but so far nothing really makes me really want to buy from them
Hmm personaly I think the carnage one is one They best ones comes with a lot of stuffs And looks nice as well also I do love the bandai carnage but wont buy it unless They lower the price

I just received my first 3 today (KO). The Carnage and Deadpool 2 are very good. They cover the joint gaps and got good range of motion. The accessories are incredible across the board. The Venom tho... 😢 I like how he looks a lot, but yeah he's very top heavy so he flops a lot. His shoulders don't seem to go up either, so his arm falls off a lot. I can't really figure out the elbows either. I got overwhelmed. Lol, I put them back in the box. You have to dedicate your time and full attention to posing one right. I'll clear off my home work desk and do it another time.
I agreed, you really have to spend some time to pose them.. but they ARE very poseable to be honest.
You love it or you hate it. There is no middle point and if you are not into AY, it is fair.
In my case I really love the AY that I have because the desings are over the top in some characters. About the vanilla poses, I think that from the Bleeding Edge Ironman, the figures have better neutral look, like Deadpool 2.0, Cable, War Machine and IronMan for example.
EXACTLY! imagine having a line of figures focused on having really good articulation.... but the joints are too loose to hold a pose xD
A big reason why I stopped is because of the loose joints, EVERY Revoltech ive ever had were a loose mess, last one I got was All might and he could not hold a pose..

Amazing Yamaguchi has their positive points and for those who are doing figure photography it might be the best overall. However, I definitely prefer Mafex and SH figuarts for my money due to the smooth buttery articulation and awesome paint apps. But at the same time,. I have been let down by both Mafex and SHF when I bought a figure that I was expecting to be great and it was just ok. The prices are high for those imports so it's best to be careful when buying.
Yeah my main problem is getting a Revoltech and then after a week or 2 one of the joints gets super loose after posing. My next purchase will be the 2.0 Spider-Man but that may be it for a while

There’s a join fix liquid on eBay. Look on UA-cam how to fix a figure and loose joins easy fix 👍🏽
If you like figures that only look good and you're lazy posing them go for Mafex or Mezco. If you like figures that can do insane amounts of poses then go for AY. Loose joints are not a problem, there are products out there that can easily tighten them.

wolverine needs a 2.0 version, honestly i did let go all of my revoltech figures, i only have one left which is the movie revo Ultron

Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi is the only figure brand I give free passes to for their failures and I don't really know why except they've been around the longest out of brands like Figuarts, Mezco One:12, Mafex, Sentinel, etc etc. I see where they started and where they are now and I see just an upward trend of improvement, so I forgive them if a few of the figures I have are not as good as they should be. And because almost all the joints are easily replaceable I can fix them without much problem.
I wanted to pre-order the two Flash figures from Revoltech for the first time. I changed my opinion. Thanks for the extensive video

Me too same. The silhouette does not work for me. I too stopped after getting first 4..5 figures...same like you.
1. Paint was horrible.
2. Magneto cape was a nightmare.
3. Scale doesn't work across my collection. Too big.

Boy, I have a few figures myself, and I recently bought the Yamaguchi Wonder Woman because of her nice and original look, but really, all the cons you mention, I agree with ! Almost impossible to make her stand, exposed joints and not so pretty details. I'm pretty sure this is my last Yamaguchi figure !

I just bought a revoltech amazing yamaguchi deadoool ver 1 and the shoulder joint is not very durable it keeps breaking so I threw it away

The Deadpool 2.0 rerelease is my favorite figure! I think they fixed the loose joints and paint because mine was flawless.. the only negative was the accessories. He can’t hold the swords they’re too small for his handa
Did the eyes painted properly for yours?
They're great, if you're a masochist (or Japanese)... Back when they first started, their figures were simpler in design, so the "Revoltech" joints weren't such a pain. With Amazing Yamaguchi they've stuffed their annoying joint system into much more complicated action figures and make YOU do all the work, instead of proper joint design - like every other manufacturer worth their salt.
I've never really liked their shoddy little joint system, but it's amazing how far they've managed to take it. Their Evangelion Natayanagi is a gorgeous design that I bought, but only because it appears nobody else will make one.
Do you have a video of a toy figure (with proper joint design you speak of) that can do the dynamic poses of lets say the Amazing Yamaguchi Deadpool ver 2.0?
Amazing yamaguchi has gotten a lot better with base standing poses and non-exposed joints and have even let go of a lot of the revotech joints in favor of appearance and the spider man V2 is so much better than the og

I see your points and agree for the most part, but Revoltech really nailed some figures. Their Cable, their Red Hood / Arkham Knight. Their old MCU IronMan figures were incredible for the time. Years beyond other 1/12 figures.
some of them are good looking, like the harley quinn for example. but yeah they are meant for extreme poses

I recently got the reissue of the iron man #13. It's my first and last kaiyodo figure. One missile accessory was completely unpainted and the peg on one foot is so loose that it won't hold the boost effect. Here I thought Mafex was supposed to be the one with QC issues.
Would be t help just to super glue the inside of the joint because the ball joint still could work and wouldn’t fall off
Superglue should always be the last option
I’ve had their Bleeding Edge Iron Man and it was like the only Yamaguchi that looked good in neutral pose and didn’t have much gaps, but it’s a rare gem.
All their new figures in the past 2 years look amazing in standing pose.

Have not purchased any AY figs but some of their recent releases like Superman & Black Panther look pretty good imo. I also like the OG Batman figure with the controversial plastic cape as the cape makes for a very unique look when it's fully spread out w/arms out in flying/landing pose imo. Was considering picking up a few figs in their DC line but the Wonder Woman fig. was a major disappointment as her height scale was way off (too short) from Bats & Supes imo so decided to pass. I didn’t know their WW is short in term is scale because I thought their scale has always been pretty tall… but speaking of which, I was quite interested in their Harley Quinn as she looks fun too!
for the body parts coming off easily problem, im pretty sure if you put the figure in a bowl of cold water for around 5-10 minutes it ill be more stiff and to make them loose again do the same thing but with hot water
Totally agree with you. I bought the AY Cable a while ago because I really like the character, but when I saw some reviews and got the figure in hand, I didn't like it and sell it immediatly. I always just mess around a little bit with figures and put them back in the box or for display in neutral pose, so with the weird joints and all, this line is definitely not for me.

I had modify the joints on my revoltech Gambit in order to keep it from falling apart.

I bought one of the Yamagouchi spiderman figures..they are only good for posing. Those exposed joints and those over large thighs...yea,its ugly. But fun to play with. Its displayed with my others and looks cool with them. But I dont plan on buying anymore of their figures.

The only thing I like about this Venom is the face sculpt and tongue. After having him for about half a year, I sell him off. He is super difficult to display with how top-heavy he is. The support for his back isn't too helpful either. And the joints are so difficult to dealt with. They aren't like SHF or ML, you have to click or adjust the ball joints to the angles you want to have them posed instead of just bending them around like normal action figs. He is my first and last. After him, I didn't get AY figs anymore lol. But yeah AY they can do the most cringiest dynamic poses in the world.

I'm getting into the yamaguchi line. i just got the reissues of O.G. deadpool and venom. two of my favorite figures right now. zero paint issues on either. i hope they reissue all the marvel ones.

@@DCSG81 got it through BigBad. ended up sorta shady, as they reposted the original venoms they still had before posting the 2.0 version and i didn't realize. so i got an original. which i love, but has its faults. the reissue deadpool i have zero issues with. also picked up the batman 2.0 but haven't got it yet. still love the line.
That Deadpool is not their very first release they've had figures out way before that
the torso joint of my venom snaped as i was posing him and i just gave up and hes just sitting on my self in pieces.
BECAUSE AMAZING YAMAGUCHI FIGURE IS NOT MADE FOR DISPLAYING IS MADE FOR POSING AND YOU GOT THE OLDER FIGURE AND NEWER ONE IS GETTING BETTER THAN THE OLDER ONE SO THATS MY COMIT
I just hate that line...Sure, the articulation is crazy...but...yeah the art style is clearly not for me. I had the Venom Snake from them...I hated that figure, so much that I've decided to use it as fodder.

The Anime/video game look of the line is a no go for me. For comic based figures, Mafex is the way to go!

Buy the latest AY figures and they will change your mind 100%, for example the new Deadpool 2.0 and Black Panther.
I was so looking forward to, but eventually disappointed in my Revo Cable. The thighs are useless; too wide apart to stand straight, loose, fall off and rub together at the top and cause paint rub when you swivel them. My Arkham Knight looks cool, but after I swapped the parts once they became loose. I much prefer my Revo Iron Man and War Machine. Probably because of their armour they work better. I will use my Revo X-Force Deadpool's weapons with my pre-ordered Mafex Deadpool.
I see.. I heard the Arkham Knight is great too… seen it a few times on my hands but just never have the guts to buy it.. lol
@@DCSG81 Yeah it looks good. Especially the metallic paint and the sculpt is a lot nicer than most Revo figs. The swappable parts are a great idea, but just badly engineered.
The all might one and cable one is good figure and doesn't have loose joints

Nowadays there's no company without mispaint error. Worst is marvel legends, I stop buying it, its pricy compared to other considerate it have little amount of accessories and very poor articulation.
God, Yamaguchi Venom is one of my figures with better articulation. Yes, he's very heavy and needs a stand to display buts his arms or legs NEVER fell. I believe that you venom joints aren't tight enougth , btw, they're very hard to separate
I feel I got a bit disappointed when I got the Spider Gwen one. I have the Iron Spider, I knew they were great for poses. But Spider Gwen is simply really hard to pose, specially on the legs
I got your point. The line has it pros. But it is definitely not for everyone. I'll change my Spider Gwen for the SHF Across the Spider verse one

never had any issue with them, but i agree that Venom is a pain in the Ass, the rest are fine and depends on you how you pose them, the newer ones million times better in gaps and articulations too

I agree that the amazing yamaguchi venom isn't really that great a figure and I'm glad I've got the SHF version instead.

U can fix the loose joints by using Kiki fix loose joints, every figure going to get a loose joints not only amazing yamaguchi, but shf also and mafex xD omg mafex is most terrible joints i have experiecne

I respect your opinion and the way you want your collection to be but I feel like a lot of general criticism about Amazing Yamaguchis are from people that don’t like the stuff they « specialize » in (i.e. ultra dynamic articulation and over the top stylization). That’s why sometimes I feel like people are bashing a bakery for selling bread instead of meat you know.
I’d agree some of them are straight up ugly as hell tho (Venom)

I have the Ultron and Wolverine revoltech and I hate them both. The black Panther looks nice but I have a feeling it’s more of the same silly garbage.
I heard the Revoltech Ultron is one of their best product
@@DCSG81 don’t get me wrong he looks really really bad ass, but like with some of the older amazing yamaguchi stuff he likes to fall apart and is kinda wonky to pose and play with. I’d give that one like a 6/10 rating where as I’d give the wolverine one a 3/10. If that helps put it in perspective.

As an Amazing Yamaguchi collector, I do like them in dynamic poses.
Having them in standard T-poses/museum poses can be odd, especially the hip-joints.
have to super agreed with ur venom. same happened to me. upper too bulky and feet too small. never get to display venom and i sold it off. pls sell ur carnage. same s**t problem lol. the only one i keeping is iron spider haha. the good thing about ay figure is also the worst thing. too highly poseable. but ull never able to make it 100% like how u remove from the box for the first time. u just cant get the joint to look like it was first time out of box.
Quick summary for everyone thats gonna watch. 1st reason he doesn’t buy more Amazing Yamaguchi is because he doesn’t know how to pose them. Number 2 is because he didn’t like 1 figure of all the line (Venom, btw its actually really good he just got a bad one in my opinion) so he just automatically gave up on all the line and is not interested in any recent release. And there you go I summarized a whole 6:49s video for you 👍
I agreed with your 1st reason as I am bad in posing. But I disagree with the rest because I got disappointed in not 1 figure only.. I do have the Spider-Man and Deadpool as well and they aren’t that good in my opinion.
And ultimately, the rest of the releases is not as good (remember Batman?) during that time. But I do admit they are getting better with the recent releases.
