The book for videopoker says if you have only 3 to a flush and no pairs to only keep the Jack's or better. Perhaps you were going too fast. I think statistically you are better off playing lower denomination like $0.25 but max bet versus $1 hands because of the royal payout will out weigh the extra coin for winning a full house. The casino is trying to trick you to bet higher denomination.
Many years ago, a man told me that he goes to Vegas instead of investing in oil wells because it takes longer for him to lose his money there. I'm not so sure that is an excuse now.
