@@Code0866 I think this is false. Warriors can either close out in Boston or they have home court advantage in game 7. They should be favored to win either game.
It was the way the Celtics was defending him that gave him the most problems. Not necessarily fatigue. Yeah fatigue played a factor but not to the same degree as the Celtics defense tactics to either deny Curry the ball by face guarding or double teaming him at the three point line when he did get the ball.
Good breakdown. You didn't say enough about Wiggins though. The idea that Curry's gravity created all of Wiggins' opportunities is an overstatement. Wiggins impact on game 5 tipped the series in GS' favor. Playing both sides of the ball impressively. Hopefully you are doing a video on it.
To be fair, Wiggs has always been consistent when it comes to being aggressive and helping Steph. But compared to the first 4 games where the defensive prowess of the Celtics stopped a lot of his shots, game 5 became relatively easier because of Steph's influence. Of course, Wiggs deserves a huge appreciation for leading the team in scoring when Steph couldn't but the game changer here was definitely still Steph, even though he had an off night. I think that was the point of the breakdown.
I doubt if you saw the video. He's not saying ALL of Wiggins' opportunities, he's simply saying Curry's gravity opened up his teammates, especially Wiggins. It's the formula used before with Harrison Barnes and Iguodala, then with KD now with Wiggins. It's a great formula and it opens up the 3rd scorer in the team -- the power forward position.
warriors have hit 100+ in every game on the best defence, this series should be over cause warriors have the better more consistent offence and can match the Celtics on the defensive end, i wouldn’t be surprised if it goes game 7 cause Boston in short Burst are the better team, but warriors the whole series except game 3 have been consistent on both ends through the whole 48mins and that’s all down to championship experience and effort to do that.
Curry garnering a ton of attention even when he's off is just like being scared of someone with a loaded gun even if they haven't shot you... Curry is always a danger when he's on the court and whatever you've done is basically luck....
There was an SNL sketch where the actor playing Stephen A Smith said, “Curry’s such a great shooter, he can shoot the ball from the court, onto a 1st class seat of a nearby airplane, and five hours later, have it drop through the hoop at Madison Square Garden. SWISH!” 😂
@@michaelterry7647 but no 3s? That hasn't happened in 4 years. He was still +15, which means he was still affecting the game. He won't go scoreless from 3 again. That was fluky.
@@Cagon415 Shots aren't taken in a vacuum. If you're being face-guarded and blitzed all game, it affects how rushed open 3s feel. I promise if if they stopped diverting defensive attention to him, he would have started making plenty of 3s, just like he will next game if they revert to games 1-4 defense where they dared Curry to beat them.
Boston literally put a defender on curry's face and accepted to defend all half-court 4 on 4. Curry just got a little bit back and get his defender out of the zone. All this situation really turns into a phenomenon. this only works in the first half of the game. after a while, you have to give up this tactic and bring back the 5th defense and hope that curry doesn't find his rhythm in the remaining short time. Otherwise, the rest of the team somehow finds a way to beat you. Even this was a match where gsw had a hard time finding a finisher at certain moments. Boston may not be this lucky in game 6 if they continue to give up 5th defender all game long.
I mean it's a great defensive strategy that worked, celtics just don't have the offensive firepower to match lmao. The Warriors scored just above 100... Celtics executed their defensive gameplan phenomenally, but they're dumb as fuck on offense + the warriors have elite defense as well.
You can find on UA-cam one of Curry’s college games where the other team double-teams him for the whole game, even when he didn’t have the ball! So Curry just ran to whatever part of the court the ball wasn’t on, drawing away two defenders, and the rest of his team crushed the opponents by playing 4 on 3 for the whole game. Curry will gladly step back and hand the ball over to whoever’s hot, he’s never been a ball hog. Throwing extra defensive resources at Curry just means he’s helping free up the rest of the offense.
@@ijustyap Yeah, but they missed opens 3's. I think it is safe to claim that wiggins could make 2 or 3 3-point shots. But he couldn't make those shots. Also even though klay hit 5 3-point shots but could hit more. Or Steph may be better next time even if they defend him that well. So that means at least adding 10 more difference. The problem here is that the strategy lowers the ability to defend the paint or pass angles.Because the other 4 players can move much more easily in such a field, which is something that a team playing motion offense will happily accept. Lets remember how clevland defend curry when they get the championship. They made almost same thing. They had no as good guard defender as boston has right now so they doubled curry in first half of the games. Rather than what Clevland did, Boston put a guy near him in almost every position. But at one point they stoped this strategy and began to defend others too. Because there are little time left, curry strageled to get his rhtyme even there isn't second defender on his face anymore and others couldn't make shoots as much as they did at the beginning of the games since they were defended more tightly. I don'ts say it's a bad strategy. I just thing you should know when to leave it and rely on time left.
This Noom transition add MY God... this is a classic I always enjoy your smooth transition, You were a huge inspiration for me to start UA-cam and now that I am monitize I can't wait to get a deal and start doing smooth transitions like you
Actually wiggins showed this to us against lebron in the play in last year, as he held lebron to sub par shooting percentages. And this season he's helping on offense a lot more, amazing to see.
Wiggins proved me wrong. He works well in the warriors system. He's the ultimate role player (like Harrison Barnes and Iggy). Not the 1st, 2nd or 3rd option on offense. He's just does EVERYTHING ELSE AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU NEED.
Wiggs is a great player. But sota stunted his growth. And I'm a wolves fan. 4 coaches in 6 years. And if you are a wolves fan, you would've heard the term Point wiggins at one point. LOL! That's how bad it was.
Remember when people tried to label him as a bust?? I wonder what they’re thinking now. Andrew Wiggins has been doing it all: 🔶 Leads both teams in rebounds 🔶 Leads both teams in shots contested 🔶 2nd in blocks 🔶 2nd in 4Q scoring 🔶 More PPG than Klay 🔶 Holding Tatum to 37.5% FG
The Warriors always had the deeper team it was on those others to show up and they sure did at a time when Steph didn’t have it going . Dubs will close this out and celebrate another championship on another teams home court again on Thursday
Celtics guarding Steph like the first 4 games of the series is the best way because that limits everyone from the Warriors to be involved in the offense effectively. That being said, the Celtics will get another Curry flurry again!
The GSW are the ONLY team in the league that MOVES the way they do....OMG. How can u keep up with these guys ?? The warriors haven’t closed out on the road in any series yet. Denver, Memphis , and Dallas. Now in the finals it’s finally time to close out on the road.
For me I hope this is an eye opening experience for the haters out there. It's not always fair to blame a player for their poor development. In fact it's pretty rare for a so called 'bust' to have failed because of lack of effort or even inherent talent. More often than not it's actually certain organizations who don't prioritize play and development programs for players and sometimes it's just being drafted to a bad situation that leads to their under achievement. Instead of hopping on Twitter and putting these kids on blast maybe we should put pressure on teams and the league to get the best basketball possible from each and every player.
Wiggins was clearly the best player of this game, and it wasn't even close! He played great defense, he played great offense, he rebounded, he made clutch plays, he made hustle plays, and more important he made winning plays!
This just highlights why Drop Coverage was actually the right answer to guarding the Warriors - make Steph beat you. Sure he might drop 30. But the rest of the team won't get hot. For some reason game 3 wasn't enough evidence for people
This game shows why there's never been a player like Steph in terms of how he stresses a defense maybe even more than when his shot is locked in.

I remember Pat Beverley saying that the Celtics struggle alot defending the split, this video confirms it.
Good thing about GSW is that they never depend heavily on their top guns with the like of Thompson and Curry they all work as a team and that's where they get very dangerous..
Unlike Boston that depends on Tatum and Brown

@@simanusapolu8943 Celtics were good, Warriors were just better all around. Both can be true without taking away from one another
The gravity Steph demands is exceptional. They basically focused on him all night and he still made key buckets and assists. What a legend.
It was obvious that Curry used up a lot of juice in G4, normally you'd see him running around a lot more, and clearly the leg fatigue affected his shot too. Hopefully he finds a last burst of energy to bring this one home.
imo the warriors must win game 6 because i don’t see them winning a game 7 on the home court
@@Code0866 theyre like 7-0 off losses and like 9-1 at home so idk why it would be different

@K Kwill not to this extent
You’re not going to win many series, especially against the Warriors if you’re consistently being kept below the 100pts mark
warriors have hit 100+ in every game on the best defence, this series should be over cause warriors have the better more consistent offence and can match the Celtics on the defensive end, i wouldn’t be surprised if it goes game 7 cause Boston in short Burst are the better team, but warriors the whole series except game 3 have been consistent on both ends through the whole 48mins and that’s all down to championship experience and effort to do that.

I love how Curry doing the floaties again.. :) really helpful esp he is struggling/ well defended...
SWISH!” 😂
@@JasonBoyce everytime I watch Stephen A now it's like he's doing a lower key impression of Chris Redd.
He was off BECAUSE off the attention. Good lord.
From what I see, the Warriors are the better TEAM.
They might not have the best athletes or individual defenders, but play great as a unit.
Been waiting all day for this breakdown
Its barely 11am bro.

Wiggins and Klay deserve their own video for how they played defense.
Actually wiggins showed this to us against lebron in the play in last year, as he held lebron to sub par shooting percentages. And this season he's helping on offense a lot more, amazing to see.
I always look forward to your breakdowns. So cool

Remember when people tried to label him as a bust?? I wonder what they’re thinking now.
Andrew Wiggins has been doing it all:
🔶 Leads both teams in rebounds
🔶 Leads both teams in shots contested
🔶 2nd in blocks
🔶 2nd in 4Q scoring
🔶 More PPG than Klay
🔶 Holding Tatum to 37.5% FG
The Warriors always had the deeper team it was on those others to show up and they sure did at a time when Steph didn’t have it going . Dubs will close this out and celebrate another championship on another teams home court again on Thursday
🤣🙂🙂🙂🙂
The celtics is also deep
Celtics guarding Steph like the first 4 games of the series is the best way because that limits everyone from the Warriors to be involved in the offense effectively. That being said, the Celtics will get another Curry flurry again!

The reporters who get a Finals MVP vote are lazy. They either don’t watch the game and look at stats or they watch and don’t understand the gravity, so they also look at stats.

Every superstars get doubled team but I rarely see anyone guarded like Steph if any. That's why he makes everyone around him look good except maybe Oubre for some weird reasons.
Oubre played well towards the end it took him a while to learn the system
@@kennyduarte6744 yea oubre had his moments. But the offensive differential with curry on/off was borderline stupid.
Oubre didn't fit because of his basketball IQ. His read and react skills were terrible. Plus he didn't like that the offense was heavily revolved around steph.

Them having a former number 1 pick and him not even at his peak is deadly for this team to be completely honest.
He's at his peak. Unfortunately the media and fans over-hyped him so much. It's not his fault. He's a really good player but not a superstar. Still a very important piece to their roster. Wiggins is like a combination of prime Iggy and Harrison Barnes

Wiggins and Poole are so fast with the ball it’s incredible
For me I hope this is an eye opening experience for the haters out there. It's not always fair to blame a player for their poor development. In fact it's pretty rare for a so called 'bust' to have failed because of lack of effort or even inherent talent.
More often than not it's actually certain organizations who don't prioritize play and development programs for players and sometimes it's just being drafted to a bad situation that leads to their under achievement.
Instead of hopping on Twitter and putting these kids on blast maybe we should put pressure on teams and the league to get the best basketball possible from each and every player.
