Been following you guys since your cover of "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" oddly enough, but your music has been there for me in good times and bad. But then you just have to go and drop this amazingly catchy song in French, which I immediately began to memorize the lyrics to. Keep it up you guys, this goes up there with Nite Rite, Golden Light, and of course my all time favorite Isabella of Castile.
"Isabella of Castile" is such an interesting name for that song because she was the Spanish queen who funded the expedition of Christopher Columbus. The song is about a breakup, one that is not emotionally satisfying for either person, but nevertheless it is better for everyone: "I can tell we'll never be alone". It's kinda like Isabella and Columbus, he had been denied by most of the monarchies of Europe but there was something a bit special between him and Isabella that caused her to help him when no one else would. Nevertheless, he had to leave because it was the best outcome from whatever it was exactly that they shared. I think this is why the band uses the Alan Watts clip where he talks about thinking and how it is distinct from feeling. It's a bittersweet thing, but it's true that sometimes a breakup can indeed be the best thing. The brain must have a place in our relationships as the heart does. BTW, I hear that they're on tour right now, just so you know, peace out!
@@connorwelborn8673sorry to hear you missed it. Best show I've ever seen and most of my absolute favorites didn't even get played (that's just how it is when a band has a catalogue like they do). Was supposed to see them at The Underground (Charlotte) the night Helene hit but show got canceled and rescheduled. I decided to check The Underground/Fillmore's schedule and the one show I decided I'm going to is AWOLNATION. Well finally found out the reschedule date for STRFKR and it's two days before AWOLNATION 😍 So I'll definitely be spending a few days in Charlotte
